Thanks for the laughs, great read
Depending on the diagnosis try VetCBD oil.
https://vetcbd.com/ It’s only available at dispensaries - the one in Needles sells it. Use the online locator or Weed Maps.
I have used it for many years on Chloe. She started having seizures and other issues and I put her on it and she’s doing amazing. You need to start out the dosages small to get them used to it or else they throw it up. But it’s so easy to administer. She screams for her 2x daily doses. They also carry a higher dosage for more extreme issues and even for hospice care. Don’t buy the ones at the pet store etc. you need the tiny bit of THC which this one has. It does NOT get them high. Feel better soon Sasha!
The vet called us and said we need to take her to a $pecialist in a Vegas today. So we are going to get her and load up the kids and roll.
call it Grads !!Do we get to name it? Please please please........

Sorry to hear Dave. At least the family can say good bye and she will be at home.Well we ended up coming to Phoenix because there is a high end specialty vet here. They ran all the tests last night and basically said she could go at any moment. She has cancer in her lungs, a mass on her heart and another mass somewhere else thst is bleeding internally. When that mass finishes rupturing she will pass.
They wanted me to put her down last night, I decided to take her home And let her spend another day or two with the kids and family. I’m going to see if there is someone that will come to the house and do it.
Same type of thing happened to my dog in May, came on quickly. Did not see it coming til the end. Older dog as well. Never easy to put a best friend down. Only peace for me came from knowing he he had a good life and is now in a better place. My heart goes out to your family.Well we ended up coming to Phoenix because there is a high end specialty vet here. They ran all the tests last night and basically said she could go at any moment. Sorry to hear. Had to put down my lab a couple summers ago and it was tough especially when it comes on fast.Well we ended up coming to Phoenix because there is a high end specialty vet here. Sorry to hear Dave.
I've heard if you do this at home it can kind of freak the kids out in regards to the spot where it takes place if they're around.
Just something to keep in mind.
Best wishes to you and your family in this difficult time.
Dave...
We went down a similar road many years ago with one of our dogs, reading your explanation of the problems brought back memories.
With that in mind I was moved to say get a Vet to the house and have them help her to pass, don't put her or your family through the trial of watching her last moments.
It isn't pretty. That is all I will say.
We didn't have the option when we went through this, and I sure as heck would have eased his passing knowing what I know now.
We are down to one Shih-Zu now, Cindy's girl. She goes to work with Cindy every day and is an incredibly good dog, the 3rd of this breed we have had.
I dunno what I will do when we have to cross that bridge.
All the best to you and yours...
Losing a dog is painful for a family and you, the talk about the end-of-life process is hard for kid to understand. All you can do for your dog is hold him, telling him how you love them, petting him, let him know he will be free of pain, not afraid and not alone.
I have a box with clipping of hair, photos, a paw print, collar, leash etc...from my last 3 dogs, it helps.
The death of a pet can be more difficult than the loss of a relative. I was inconsolable for months. I wish you and your family well.
She isn't going to look too bad until the mass lets go...and then she is going to go through hell in the process of dying, that is what happened to our Cody, a huge Yellow lab that was bonded deeply to our oldest son. We were trying to give him a "good last week"...and then...well he started to go and Chris wasn't here to see it I was very thankful.
He bled from his mouth, his nose...you get the picture my friend.
I am just saying, if I had it to do over again I would not have let him go through that.
Damn, that is the hard part. With my daughter's horse (I believe an old west survivor), it was a long time coming. When she looked like she was in pain, it was time to help her along. It's one of those things, you'll know when it's time...and no matter what, it sucks. Sorry you're going through it. I feel bad for your kids, as Sasha has been in their lives majority of their existence.Even though she doesn’t seem to bein any pain? You’d still call them in?
That’s the part I’m struggling with. She seems pretty “alright” given the circumstances.. So I can’t tell if that’s the right choice or not.
