Video posted on FB today shows a stock Maverick R smoking a Pro R with a tune, clutch work and exhaust in Glamis up a long dune (not sure which one). Can't post it here for some reason but it's floating around out there.

Did you have a build thread on this one?

Yep that’s when I first purchased it and it went to TMW. That is when my addiction started with this car. The car has come a long way from that thread in mostly power and some more suspension upgrades . I am going to pull it out of storage this weekend and start a complete build list as I might list it . Just like the Lavey Sabre I have that hardy gets used. I have a hard time letting go with shit…

Here is a good honest review the SXS Blog guys did. I don’t think they had the car all figured out as they didn’t even have it in high at first or use the paddle shifters but some of them just say it not there riding style kinda of car.

From guys that actually bought one and have experience in every car out there.

Soft brake pedal and mediocre braking performance, tires rubbing the knuckle, and it drinks gas, especially with anti lag on. Car feels big and heavy.

Trans is really good but misses a downshift here and there, car is really stable and jumps well.

Good car, not game changing they said. They seem to like the Pro R better.

Myself and 83Daytona have cars ordered at Adrenalin in Casa Grande,Az priced at MSRP . I know 4 other dealers in Az I can get on the list for MSRP. Confirm where they are marking them up and how much.
Corona Motorsports told me they are selling the 2 they have at MSRP, one already had a hold on it before showing up.

This car is much better suited for running hard in the desert, its a big car. I have heard from a third party that tuned the shocks on the winning Silver State car that he believed Polaris will not be able to catch this car with their Pro R program. He was a big Pro R advocate and calls this car a game changer in the desert, rumor has it that they saw 120mph running down hill. Car had speed limiters and some nanny computer crap turned off but did not have time to invest in tunning the motor before the race - so more to come out of these cars in the desert. I want one!

I called and of course they don’t have any that are available.

Wow, the parts department guy called me on Friday on my way out to the river saying they had 2. One spoken for but the guy hasn't come in yet and he was "on the clock". I think he said they have 13 coming in over the next month or so, these first 2 being part of that order. Talk to Brian in sales, tell him Ethan from Jesco sent you, and talk to T in parts if you want to order anything. They just hooked my buddy up with a sweet deal on a RZR.

Shock Therapy just got a new Maverick R for R&D purposes. They should have some stuff coming out for it in the near future.

Some new 4 seat canams mav R with the same funky front suspension were out in the desert yesterday and today with a bunch of 2 seaters and what looked like one of their new factory race cars I saw. Corporate event not testing. They must have the 4 seats coming out soon.

Not sure if this has been posted yet to not, But these guys loved it. The stupid laughing is annoying, but they pushed these cars pretty hard.

No overheating, no brake complaints, no axle issues, no oil leaks and NO belts.... Whats not to like.

I watched the entire thing. I think they didn't know how to operate them properly. And brand biased as well.

I am not biased. Probably still a Pro R buyer but these cars are obviously working.

Watch their new video. Build quality, fit and finish on these things is subpar.

How are they brand biased? They own and run more Can Am X3s than anything else.

They actually buy nearly all of their of their cars in their long term fleet. They are probably one of the least biased outlets out there.

Car runs and handles decent in the dirt it looks like.

Ash, as I said, I am not biased. I am likely still a Pro R buyer. The whole Speed thing is such a turn off. That much drama just makes it a hard no. The Can Am, handling, power, brakes and transmission are certainly of interest.

That said. My driving style would not push any of these cars anywhere near their capabilities.

Before you say anything, Some folks like RG and his in your face style. I equate it to Trump. So, regardless of how good his car is, I've "switched channels" its of ZERO interest. I'd bet there are plenty of folks feel as I do, just won't say it.

During the run up to the Speed car unveiling, you and I discussed how this point in time will be good for consumers. Well, here we are. All three cars have changed the metric of whats possible in a UTV.

I understand you are brand agnostic at this point, but was trying to understand your statement about the YouTube channel in question being brand biased.

I’ve made that same equivocation about RG many times in the past. He’s got a large backlog of cars to dealers and individuals with 0 marketing dollars. All those cars will find homes. Speed will never have the brand reach or market share of Can Am or Polaris. The car is not for everyone. It is a drivers car. It may not even be for me, I don’t know yet.

I think I’ve advocated the Pro R/Turbo R is the car for you for awhile. It’s the best all around car with the best electronics. I don’t see any reason not to buy one at this point. Everyone aside from Kawasaki has their cards out on the table.

I like the Can Am, they are great cars but you have to inspect them, fix them and keep an eye on them. This one seems like a better version made to a price point, by the same bean counters that made the last one to a price point.

Is this really how you sit in this thing? Like tiny little flat bottom?

View attachment 1285377

That dude is like 6’5. I have not sat on the passenger side, but no. I don’t think you have to sit like that. The seats also have multiple height settings you can put the mounts on.

Can Ams you do sit lower in the car though and stretch your legs out more. It’s like being in a sports car seat in position.

Steve, you are welcome to take my Turbo R for a spin anytime, if you would like to test one in the dirt before you buy. Not a Pro R, but should ride pretty similar suspension and comfort wise.

I am in the same boat. I am in the market and leaning Pro-R at this point. Robby's approach to this whole ordeal will keep me from ever buying his product.

Funny isn't it? A product that i'm sure will be fine, once the bugs are worked out, that people just completely discount purchasing due to the attitude of the guy at the top.

When the speed keys come out in another month. I think many people with UTV paralysis won’t care much about RGs attitude if the Speed is the fastest.. even if it can’t stop 😂

Although the current model does not scale, the customer service, and service after the sale has been pretty good for most folks.

Despite Robby's persona 'online", he is pretty down to earth and helpful when you speak to him on the phone and in person. He's passionate about this car, and mix that with an arrogant attitude, and he comes off as a dick.

I have spoken with him many times regarding the car, and he has been totally humble and respectful.

In fact when my fan issue came up, he facetimed to so he cold show me which bolts to pull out to get to the fan wiring, and told me, "go ahead and butcher those wires, and do whatever it takes to get 12v to them so you can drive your car, and we'll replace the entire fan harness when you bring it in".

These brakes seem to have him triggered, and I can't believe that he doesn't believe there is an issue with them not working that great.

I gambled with him and a mutual friend in Vegas one night while all the fan-boys looked on. He was friendly and very down to earth. However, this was before Speed UTV.

I don’t have the confidence in his product given all the problems that need addressing. I wish the best for Speed owners, but not my thing.

As you know, About 1% of the population can even drive a 300HP UTV to its potential. I sold my CanAm strictly because the brakes sucked, even after the upgrade. A good driver needs good braking power. That issue alone is a deal breaker for me.

Good points. The only conceivable reason I can think of why people have held off a buying decision waiting for Speed is because they are worried these are gonna be better than what their neighbor has. I think that is like 90% of why anyone buys any of these top line cars in the first place. To your point, very few of us even use the cars to their capability.

My neighbor just shrink wrapped his Pro R to take it to his new place in Montana 😂

He is from Havasu, and had a Can Am before this. I only saw his machines dirty a couple times.

Good guy, and his car looks great, but I think most of the miles on his machines are driving to the mailbox.

I will say that the speed car is by far, the best looking stock UTV on the market.

RG definitely has his style of marketing and talking with the buyers, but unfortunately at some point there WILL be wrongful death lawsuits against Speed and RG and these videos will resurface...... and you wonder why big corporations do not act they way he does.

My point was not saying RDP peeps are going to sue, but this F-UP'd society will sue for anything and lawyers love to find the crack in the corporate armor and these videos could be that is all I was referring to.

I understand what he means. Let’s say a guy couldn’t stop and airmail’s it off a cliff. There’s video’s of RG saying “just push harder”

I saw no malice in his post.

I do completely understand. Which is why I would never talk shit like he does. I would instantaneously fire a salesman for talking about a competitors product as he does.

My company just provided superior products at competitive prices and offered insane levels of customer service.

We won most of the time.

Our motto was;

“Exceeding customer’s expectations, while providing new levels of customer service”
