Old people who like watching live tv the old fashioned way which includes watching commercials.

DragonStreams, Evolution, Sports Devil and Sports Access (when it's working) are the best Add On's for Live sporting events and PPV's.

Walmart has a 70" Vizio 4K TV for $999 right now.

Thanks, I'll check those out tonight. I mainly watch TV shows like Master Chef, Walking Dead, Colony, History/Discovery channel, SyFy, FX, etc, some movies, and would like to get the UFC PPV's. I know my box has DragonStreams and Sports Devil. I'll look for the other two tonight.

I'm kinda sold on the Samsung 65" UN65KS8000 at this point, which is about $1600. If I'm going to get a new TV, I'm not going to skimp. The HD rear projector Mits I have now was $2k in 04. One TV every 12 years isn't too bad I guess.

For those shows use Exodus or Salts and use the search function to search for them. You'll be able to watch them at your leisure and you will not have to deal with commercials. You'll be able to watch those shows all the way back to the first episode. It's not uncommon for me to binge watch an entire season or two of a series on a lazy weekend.

That's a great TV and priced right for a mid-higher end TV that will easily last you another 12 years. When you watch a 4K program the first time you'll be happy about the decision you made and wishing you had upgraded sooner. I made the jump to a 4K 65" Sony at the beginning of this summer, the only way I'd be happier with it is if I had gone with a 70" or 75".

I'm not sure how to answer your questions. The Renegade box seems to be the exact same as my streamsmart pro. They both work the same after the opening screen, same apps from what I've seen so far. You get either one and plug it in and turn it on. The directions are on the screen like booting up a pc for the first time. Open your Media player on the box and from there it's self explanatory. I have a Renegade box, Streamsmart Pro, and the Firestick that one of the members here sells. They all work, but I prefer the boxes. We don't have cable TV anymore, just internet and phone. I haven't wanted to watch anything I couldn't find on the boxes yet. There's way more crap than I could have ever imagined available to watch. A couple UFC fights, and some movies that are still in theater and you're ahead of the game. I'd say you want at least 30mbps for internet, more if you have a lot of devices on your wireless. We have 100mbps and never buffer.

Did he say he was going to call me? Still nothing.

I talked to him on the phone, and he thought he was talking to you on the other line. I guess it was someone else. I just sent him a text for the third time to tell him to respond to this thread.

You can burn through 250 gigs pretty quickly when you're streaming. One movie in 1080p is going to be several gigs. What happens if you go over 250 gigs?

thanks for looking into this matter for us too.

I'm not sure what the outcome will be yet, since I haven't heard from anyone. Here's where I'm at though:

  • In the original post, BigDaddyDave said to buy the $449 RG6 Pro and use the code to drop the price to $299.
  • In post #40, he says the basic box comes with Channel Up.
  • In post #50, he says to buy the RG6 PRO Combo Pack w/Channel UP (which is the $529 package). Using the code drops the price to $379. To add the Mini Keyboard, order the RG6 Pro Premium Combo Pack (for $549) and the total price would be $399 + shipping. This is what I bought. I paid $414 shipped.
  • The keyboard I received is the old style keyboard that is Renegade branded, but NOT backlit.
  • The box I received does NOT have component output, as the website said it did (see post #88). This is an issue as my TV does not have HDMI, only component and S-video inputs. I bought an adapter and couldn't get that to work, so now I have to upgrade my living room TV to use this. I was hoping to keep my existing HD1080 TV.
  • Skippy got a different promo code for the same package I ordered and paid $350 shipped. That's $64 less than I paid a few days earlier for the same package.
  • The phone support person (Annabelle) didn't even know what component video was. Then she told me the analog RCA outputs in the box wouldn't work at all. I asked why they were in the box then and she didn't have an answer. I've asked 3 questions on the Facebook support page and received a solution/answer to only one of them (what key on the keyboard corresponds to the menu button on the std remote). Between that and BigDaddyDave going missing from this thread after telling us in the first post how easy he is to reach, I'm losing faith.

In the end, it looks like a good product, but I got the shaft on the keyboard and pricing. The specs on the website are wrong, and I'm going to have to go out of pocket for a new TV with HDMI to get it to work where I want it to (living room). I still like the idea of cutting the cord with DirecTV and Netflix and saving that monthly money. Channel up not working, after I paid extra for access to it is frustrating at best. I'm also wondering if Channel Up goes tits up in 6 months, what is going to replace it (if anything), so it makes me wonder about paying extra for it now. Maybe I should just return what I got, then reorder the standard $449 box with the discount and a keyboard. No Channel Up, and hopefully get the right keyboard. That will be under the $350 that Skippy paid as well. I've got a few more days to make my decision, and whether BigDaddyDave reaches out to me or not will make up my mind. We'll see and I'll let you all know how it pans out.

Since I've had the box, my data went up 2-5gig per day for the days I watched one movie. On the day I watched a few episodes of TV shows, it jumped 15GB that day. I do have a Nest Cam though, and some of that might have been from the camera that day. I don't have a way to separate UL vs DL data. My internet has a 1TB monthly data limit.

The combo pack with Channel Up is $529. I opted for the mini remote for $20 more for $549 - $150 = $399.

Guys when I put the RDP100 promocode in the forum, it was originally to purchase a box only. The code will not work with any other product only a single RG6 PRO plus $14.99 Shipping. Several of you ordered a different package and were charged more then I stated it would be. This is my fault for not taking that into consideration. So whoever purchased a premium combo pack please let me know so I can send you the difference. Its not my intentions to sell anyone a keyboard for $100 that's ridiculous.

If you want to purchase a Premium Combo Pack do not use the RDP100 Promocode that is only for the box only. If you want the Premium Combo Pack use RDP199 and this will lower that package to $350 plus shipping. You will get the RG6 PR0, Channelup and our mini keyboard with a 1 year warranty.

This offer is only going to last for one week and will end on April 1st. Offering $200 off my Premium Combo pack was never the plan, however after the mix up I'm going to honor this deal for the next week. So if you're thinking about taking that leap of faith now is the time to do it.

Hey Dave. The original promo code was RDP150. If you go back through this thread to post #50, you told us to get the premium combo:

Everyone lets start over! Because of all the recent activity with other boxes being sold for ridiculous prices, I agreed to offer a ridiculous price to Dave as well. Included in the deal is a Renegade RG6 PRO, Channelup, Remote Control, AC Adapter and HDMI Cable as well as free Tech Support. Go to this link https://renegadebox.tv/cart/ click on RG6 PRO Combo Pack w/Channel UP, enter Coupon Code RDP150 checkout and your done. to add the Mini Keyboard, order the RG6 Pro Premium Combo Pack. Do not concern yourself with tech support packages. You will always be able to speak with someone. We do however want people to sign up and use the Facebook Support Group and the open forum at renegadetv.info once you are familiar with the product.

If I ordered the wrong stuff, then that post above is where the confusion is coming from. I also spoke with Annabelle on the phone and she told me if the website doesn't say it comes with Channel Up, it doesn't...and the basic box doesn't. I ordered from your website and the RDP150 code DID work for the Premium Combo Pack I ordered.

That said, I'd be most happy if I could get the right keyboard sent to me and the difference refunded. I will PM you my cell phone number now. Thanks!

Damn, that sucks, but we rarely watch movies although being able to watch shows back to back when convenient sounds nice. Sounds like I have a few days to decide and pull he trigger. Thanks!:)

Shutdown or slowdown , idk. My internet connection is currently so bad I don't care, but I really want to try this out. I waste so much time waiting for pages to load, it can not be a downgrade. If the streaming box will work now, thats a huge bonus in the future!
Living in the country has both upside and downside as, fiber is only about a 1000 feet away but not available to my home .

Boozer is right, a typical 1080p 90 min movie will require about 2 gigs of raw data if you do not have unlimited data then everything you watch will add up and you could find yourself with a not so pleasant surprise when your cable bill comes. I hate to say this but that kind of plan is not conducive with our device and no one should purchase any streaming box for that reason alone. Now there is one exception, if you don't watch that much TV and you plan on using the box very little then you could have some success with doing that. You would, however want to monitor how much data you are using.

If you have a solid internet connection it's a no brainer, even if you had to buy a new one every year, you're still way ahead of the game. The advantage to this box and the streamsmart are the apps that require subscription that are included with purchase, these apps are for live sports and television. If you don't care about sports and live tv, and just want it for shows and movies, there are far cheaper boxes without the subscription content. As was said earlier in the thread, all the content in channelup can be found in other apps, at $350 for the whole shebang and a keyboard i'd snap it up.

If any new purchaser's are having problems with Channel Up, PM me your phone number and I'll try to walk you through the setup. I think you haven't logged in correctly. for the rest of you looking for a way to follow the shows you enjoy, I recommend setting up a TRAKT account and linking it to the most popular addons like SALTS, Exodus and Specto. Then you can build a library of shows and movies that will be in your favorites for all addons instead of making a "favorites" folder for each one.

You gotta show me how to do that.

OK, Start here: https://trakt.tv

Set up your account, then start adding whatever you want to your dashboard. The search button is on the top left side. When you find a show you want, click on it and on the next page chose "add to collection" and then click "right now". This adds all series seasons and will update your account as new episodes become available if they are still going. Add as many shows as you like. you can add shows and movies anytime and it will update your traktv folders in each addon automatically. Now, the trakt account will automatically separate movies from TV shows in eack SS addon you authorize. So for say... Specto, you would find your movies under these file path: Specto/My specto/Trakt: Movie collection OR Specto/My Specto/Trakt: TV Collection. I only authorize Exodus, Specto and Salts so I haven't really looked to see what other addons are compatible.

To authorize follow these instructions from the SS FAQ page. http://forum.streamsmart.tv/index.php?topic=997.0

The directions for Specto are the same as they list for Exodus. Just remember to authorize from the directory page that shows ALL the addons, not just the ones they've selected on the front page with the scrolling tabs. Book mark the link on your phone or whatever your using to authorize, it will make it easier to redo this process when the Stream Smart or Renegade guys (whichever platform you choose) do their hard updates that require a more than just "running the wizard" because you'll need to reauthorize every time. that's the only real PIA I've found. Good luck, it's easier than it sounds.

That will be under the $350 that Skippy paid as well. I've got a few more days to make my decision, and whether BigDaddyDave reaches out to me or not will make up my mind. We'll see and I'll let you all know how it pans out.

Stv my apologies for this mix up. Good description though. However, let me respond to a few inaccuracies. Your Mini Keyboard isn't the old one, it is backlit, you just don't know how to turn it on. Push the FN button bottom left corner and at the same time push F2 and this will light up your whole keyboard.

Secondly, I have never made the claimed that my units come with component jacks, they have always been RCA Jacks for Stereo Components ( Audio left/right and Video) mainly used for older home theatre systems. The unit does come with an Optical Out Port for newer model Stereo Systems.

Anabelle is my best sales rep, very detailed and knows her shit when it comes to what the magic box can do. As for tech support she is considered 3 level support which is the lowest. She doesn't know too much about super technical stuff like what component cables are. I am 1st level, the highest and I apologize for being MIA, I have been spending a lot of time on setting up my Australian Market, my bad.

As for the specs on the website, they are absolutely correct, its just these few questions not getting answered sooner has made things unclear and unanswered. Once again my apologies.

OK regarding pricing which got all jacked up, there were some things I said that was incorrect, so lets break it down. Recently, just 3 days ago, I had my Web Guy modify my site in several areas to update its look and appearance. One of those areas was the shopping cart. I removed a few package options because there were just too many and was a bit confusing to some visitors. Now it looks much better and less congested. That said, prices have been adjusted on the Renegade site to accommodate this deal I promised Dave.

As I explained in another post anyone who purchased a Premium Combo Pack got over charged because my deal was for the RG6 PRO and Channelup only for $299+ shipping.
In the Cart that package falls under the Combo Pack which is where the screw up happened. The code everyone got was really for just the RG6 PRO Only. So if you buy the Premium Combo Pack it appears you paid $100 for the Keyboard which is incorrect.

Now because of all these mix ups I have agreed to give away my best deal (Premium Combo Pack) for $179 off. I have never offered this deal before, its actually a ridiculous offer, normally I only take $100 off any package, and now, just because of the free Channel Up offer I through out there, it has screwed up all my numbers. The only solution is to offer everyone either the Combo Pack or Premium Combo Pack for $$179 off, giving everyone the Combo for $300 like I promised and also the Premium Combo Pack for $334+ Shipping, normally $499.

This is the best I can do for everyone and I am deeply sorry for this messing this up.

I hope this doesn't sound too confusing because it sure the fuck sounds confusing to me. Good luck deciphering this encryptic thread.

Sharpy is absolutely correct. If one letter or one number is incorrect Channel up will not work. Now on another note, if you did put it in correctly and your are still getting an error message then Channel Up is most likely down for maintenance. This is happening now if you aren't aware. Understand Channel Up will come back at some point and work for a while until it doesn't again. Its the nature of XBMC/Kodi. Remember Kodi developers who maintain all these links are not working from some fancy building with $100,000 servers making Millions of dollars. To the contrary, we are talking like raw in their Mothers basement running these repositories on a hopped up desktop with some pretty beefed up servers to handle the daily load of incoming links and they are all running on a skeleton budget, most of them reliant strictly by donations on their websites.

However, our developer for Channel Up makes some serious doe and in my opinion could be maintaining these links a little better. We are working on making Channel Up more reliable.

No, I have not heard from him.

My apologies for going MIA. My time is so limited. Everyone wants a piece of me and there is just not enough to go around. I really am trying to stay on top of this, so please forgive my absents.

Dave

I thought I put the new code in my last thread. In order for everything to balance out the code needs to be able to work for both packages, therefore I needed to lower the Premium Combo pack even more so no one ends up paying $50 for just a keyboard. The new Promocode is RDP179 and it allows anyone to either select the Combo pack for $300+ shipping or the Premium Combo Pack for $334+ shipping.

Anyone over charged send me a text at 619.251.4731 and I will send you a refund or if you didn't get a Mini Keyboard I can send that as well. Remember the keyboard is backlit you just need to push the FN button and the F2 button at the same time.

Guys sorry for all this shit, its been frustrating for me as well, specially since I'm the one causing it. I guess being over worked with no play time tends to take its toll on a person.
I want you all to know, I am very passionate about my business and take it very serious and working 7 days a week 16 hours+ a day, living and breathing nothing but Android probably isn't the best way to spend life, but I do it because I do enjoy helping people save money, but also because I'm hoping to retire within a few years so I can finally start enjoying life like I deserve to.

I hope I didn't cause too much of a ruckus, I think I have everything straight now so please feel free to use the promocode RDP179. I an extending the offer till March 6th because of the mix up.

Hey, look at that! It does light up. Thanks for the info. The picture on the website shows a silver keyboard now, but black when I purchased, so I thought this black one was something different.

Secondly, I have never made the claimed that my units come with component jacks, they have always been RCA Jacks for Stereo Components ( Audio left/right and Video) mainly used for older home theatre systems. The unit does come with an Optical Out Port for newer model Stereo Systems.
Agreed, but the website actually showed it. I put a screen capture of it in post #88. Kind of a mute point now...I ponied up for a new 4K TV this weekend, to accommodate the box. :)

As for the specs on the website, they are absolutely correct, its just these few questions not getting answered sooner has made things unclear and unanswered. Once again my apologies.
I checked again today and it still lists Component (YPbPr) output. The box does not have component output.

Gotcha. This is what happened to me.

The only solution is to offer everyone either the Combo Pack or Premium Combo Pack for $$179 off, giving everyone the Combo for $300 like I promised and also the Premium Combo Pack for $334+ Shipping, normally $499.
Thanks again for explaining all of this Dave. Even though I had to guy buy a new TV (aw, shucks, some new goodies at the house LOL), I've been pleased with what I have seen so far. There are two or maybe 3 guys here at work that want to buy a box too, as soon as this all shakes out.

I'll be looking forward to your call later. Thanks again!

It's probably one of Dave's resellers.. I wouldn't go posting about the discounts here, or he's gonna have to yank them.
