What build do you use waffles? Do you load your own from scratch? If so with what? Outside of you beating down the hardware you have not been very forthcoming in what you use/do for a build in your system unless I missed it.

Right now im running the beast though my desktop ive built in the living room and titanium in my and my daughters bed room through a first gen firetv.

The tower in the living room is running an intel i5-6402P 2.8GHz quad-core processor and 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD on windows 10 hidden away in the credenza.

Network wise, im running the arris SB6190 paired with the netgear nighthawk x4s

I run titanium on my firestick in the bedroom, haven't tried any of the other builds yet but I've been thinking about playing some. I'm considering putting something on my laptop for travel but haven't yet. You are correct, once you get the steps down it is very quick to load/reload. What I have been saying outside of that though is for live sports...and only live sports, I have not been happy with the other builds, if it was all I had or was exposed to I wouldn't complain but I have the others so...

Not to throw gas on the fire, but I still haven't heard where waffles is getting his HD UFC fights. I have a fire TV and a firestick, both with different builds, but still find it a pain in the ass to find a decent quality stream... Let alone confident enough to trust inviting a friend over not knowing how it will work. If you'd supply us all a link or source for all fights on RD's that would be great... Or even just the next one, but if that doesnt easily happen- I'm seriously considering getting one of these "overpriced" ones.

The only reason prosport is my go to most of the time, is because its reddit based. Ive never had issues finding quality streams through reddit. I even watched the Stanley cup playoffs last year on a tablet on the way back from vegas off a reddit stream. Other than that, i use phoenix or acestreams through plexus. I also watch a ton of ahl which phoenix hosts

Its not the streams. Its a combination of your network and the content youre trying to stream thats overwhelming the hardware the firestick lacks. These overpriced boxes are just that, overpriced rebranded buydig boxes with no support behind them. If you insist on paying that much money id highly recommend doing your research and buying from a reputable company like NVIDIA or RAZER that has extensive background in gaming hardware and will support your device thoroughly not just offer FB support

Lighten up, sheesh.

RD isn't censoring "Magic Box alternatives".

If you have a different/cheaper/better solution, post it up (you have), and interested folks can take advantage.

Others are lazy and would rather spend a few bucks.

Is it really worth creating drama? It's TV fer chrissakes

And yet again the answer is hardware, hardware, hardware and no answer..

This is the point waffles.. I rarely watch sports, but I do have people over for UFC fights. I don't want to have it fail on the night I need it to work. Even with the magic box I get a little nervy, even though it has never let me down.

Look around.. Who's being dramatic?

Waffles just a dumb question. If Magic box Dave says nobody outside of the six oem's. has dragon streams and their paid content.. and you have never owned one of these overpriced boxes with that paid add on..

How would you know? How would you know anything about it?

That's awesome.

I plug in the box and watch whatever the fuck I want whenever I want to. I could give two shits how it works. All I know is it works. Money well spent.

Carry on

I like the idea of a pre-programmed box with a easy interface.
But I can see where waffles coming from if ya tech savy, why not hook the desktop up to the TV and set it up yaself.
But what happens when if they shutdown kodi/exodus, what's the contingency plan?
Can this magic box run through a VPN?

Well two things Jimmy.. and I want you to read this in my shitty accent but best of of crocodile dundee...

1. no matter how good ya set it up you will never have as good as ufc streams as I click instantly on the magic box.. which is kind of a big deal because that's when all your mates come over.. and fuck all if it gets skatey in the middle of a match.

2. Destination Fucked mate.. No coming back from that hell hole. I'm not sure why you would bring up such a dark place but Im guessing your looking for some mad max in your sack. Well imagine a life of shit right? That's life without kodi mate. just fucked....

Alex, guys like you is who I need to recruit into my army of believers. Who better to promote what I have been saying all along, then someone who has experienced whats out there already. I am not here on this forum just to promote my product, I here to promote the solution to what everyone who has purchased some type of streaming device can never get and that is to watch all your favorite sports in HD quality, live PPV Events in HD quality, live TV Channels in HD quality all with one click links that are for the most part 90% reliable because these links stream from private servers only available to our customers.

So ask yourself, do you really want to spend $100 on a loaded firestick, $150 to $200 on an android box being promoted by one guy living with his mom, lying to everyone, saying his box is the best box in the world or do you want to drop a few more dollars and own the Lamborghini of android devices that comes with a 1 year warranty, live support, Chat Now, Facebook support group, live forum and coming soon live webinars with over 120 resellers around the world selling several thousand boxes a month. And who I have, over the past four years, saved well over 200,000 people millions of dollars in cable bills.

Its very simple to determine if I am a lying piece of $%!@ who's only goal is to con as many unknowing suckers into buying my worthless box. Buy it, test it, and come back to this forum and tell everyone on here what you have discovered. The proof doesn't lie.

Is it pricey? You bet. Is it worth it? Well I can tell you that those seven premium addons are not free, nor are they cheap. Does live support have value? Ask the guy that bought a cheap android box or a load firestick if he gets live support 5 different ways.

So Alex thank you for sharing your personal experience using a firestick. And anyone reading this who is still sitting on the fence, its time to jump off the right side of that fence go to renegadebox.tv use promocode RDP179 or call 800.781.0260 and experience what everyone else is and get a Renegade RG6 PRO and prepare to be AMAZED!

This is Bigdattyd signing off.

While I'm wiping the splooge off my face I'd like to say that I do believe Dave is offering pretty much the best shit out there. I've tried a couple of out of the "box" routines (pun intended) and for shows and movies they work very well. For the UFC etc... not so much.

That all said, I'm a Dave believer, he did me right and my magic boxes still are functioning flawlessly to this day.

I gotta start a magic box / TV section somewhere out of the lounge....

This is a good analogy. Except I'd compare it to a cup of Starbucks compared to going out and raising your coffee beans, roasting them, grinding them then making your own coffee because I know just as much about that (probably more come to think of it) than I do with installing Kodi and all that crap. I'm on the same page as RD...I want the shit to work with minimal to zero effort.

To go back to what Waffle said to RD earlier in regards to RD getting upset about anyone else posting: I've posted on here regarding other brand boxes for sale. RD didn't delete the thread. It's still in the classified area. I just kinda dropped it because I wasn't trying to step on anyones established cha cha and if the inmates were getting what they needed then whatever. I was just passing along what I thought was a killer deal. I've bought a couple of these other boxes for me and have been absolutely thrilled with them. well worth the money! The 15 or so that I sold for to others, I've had nothing but praise and a handful of those buyers already had jail broken firesticks.

Anyway, again - from a customer that doesn't want any hassles, wants to turn on the box and watch whatever the fuck I want when I want, it's a no brainer. Not to mention I lowered my internet and TV bill from $270 a month to $120. Box already paid for itself.

It was never my intentions to solicit Dave. I came up to Havasu with friend getting his boat evaluated by Dave. Dave and I kinda hit it off and he asked the magic question "what do I do", I told him, and he immediately wanted to see one work, I happened to have one and the rest is history as they say. I was the first to promote these devices on RDP, it was never in the gameplan for anyone else to start promoting them. People were stepping on my toes early on and I just stepped away. Dave and I have remained good friends and stayed in touch. Once I launched my own label now 2 labels, we reconnected and I shared whats new and he wanted to do a relaunch, really just to help me out, even though I have been doing quite well. Dave really has a big heart.

So for anyone to come on the RDP Forum and promote inferior devices that couldn't stand a chance against Renegade unless its one of our other OEMs in my opinion isn't cool, also to attempt to sway peoples thoughts by talking smack because its fun to stir things up is also not cool. Dave did this strictly for the people on here, not to make a profit. He chose the very best that money can buy and for good reason. All the devices that have been mentioned that claim to work so well could never stand up to a side by side comparison to the RG6 PRO?

I also did Dave a favor that I offer no one nor do I offer on any of my campaigns, and that is the discount everyone on here gets. My average sale through my social media campaigns is $450 plus shipping. And its worth every penny. Choose anything else and it will be a very bad investment when things stop working.

Everyone who enjoys stirring things up, please stop and instead encourage your fellow forumeers (just made that up) to at least be open to what Dave and I are trying to offer everyone on here who enjoys live sports and wants to save money by cutting their cable. If your not into live sports then by all means there are other options out there.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it, I'm out.

Lemme just stop ya right there.

Your attack on RD is inappropriate and uncalled for. RD is making no money on this deal. Before this thread was launched he called me and asked me if I'd be willing to run the magic box deal and take no money for himself. He's getting zero, zip nada from Dave Montana on this deal. His intentions were to hook the forum members up with bad ass Magic boxes at a good price.

As far as the boxes go and the Kodi programmers go.. I posted a thread on how to build a $60 Magic Box. Event after that thread was posted a lot of folks bought the boxes from Dave because their time is money and they'd rather spend the money than spend a shit load of time programming their own Magic box.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to stop by Starbucks and spend $4 on a coffee. I could easily make the coffee myself and save $3.50 but it's a hell of a lot easier and convenient for me to spend $4 on my way to work and let Starbucks make the coffee for me.....

Boozer thanks for your support. This message go's out to Waffles. Dude for you to say I do nothing to earn my money or to say our over priced addons are not supported really should send a clear message to everyone to not listen to a word you say. You know nothing about me or my contribution to this industry. for almost 5 years i've been busting my ass working 16 hour days sometimes never even sleeping trying to offer the best solutions for my customers.

FYI our premium addons costs our entire family of OEMs over $150,000 per month dude. Supported? Are you kidding, of course they are supported. Here's what you don't know. I was the first freaking dealer in the world to sell the first android box because my very good friend is the one who invented the first set top box and he came to me in 2012 and showed me what he had created. I knew then what my future was.

In 2012, 2013 and 2014 I drove all over San Diego County doing in-home demos booked through Craigslist, over 600 demonstrations back when it was called XBMC, before Kodi was even a thought. Because of my efforts promoting this throughout the country I would say I am a huge reason why this industry even exists. To attack me and Spencer, for that matter, claiming we did not earn the right to our success is like saying just because I didn't fight in a war I don't deserve to be a VET.

Its almost 3am and I am on here answering and responding to posts, is that not taking responsibility? Today like many days it has been a very long day, 19 hours of work to be exact and I will wake up in 5 hours and start another very busy day speaking with resellers all over the world wanting boxes and my attention. I give every bit of myself to this job. You should know what your saying before you say it.

Guys if the RG6 PRO is too pricey for you even though I set the price lower than any other online campaign I have, then grab an RG4 for $199 which has the same great addons just a bit slower. Now what I mean by slower is since the processor is only 1.5 GHz vs the 2.0 GHz that's in the RG6 the screens will take longer to transition from screen to screen but once you play the link there is absolutely no difference in quality because you are now streaming from a server located somewhere in the world and only using the hardware decoding in the box.

The only thing that really matters when it comes to different level boxes is how fast the screens move and also how fast information is being processed. The RG4 is a great alternative if you don't want to plunk down too much cash.

Use Promo Code RDP199 and get an RG4 for $199 for a limited time. Online Sale Price $299. (Retail Price $349)

Kind of weird aside but we have the RG6, the Streamsmart Pro, and the Firestick through here. Dumped our Cable, so we went from $200 a month to $65 a month. Since I can watch anything I want anytime I want, I actually watch less TV then I used to. Watched UFC 210 on the Streamsmart, then moved to a different room where the RG6 was and fired it up and finished watching it on that, I want to say both streams were through Dragonstreams in HD, neither one ever buffered. I've yet to have something that I wanted to watch that I couldn't find, including local news.

This thread cracks me up. lol. Im not even promoting my superior box. I dont even run a box. On the contrary, Im encouraging people to do their own research on the subject, not take someones word on a boating forum for it. My opinion on this subject is just that......an opinion on what I feel is overpriced soon to be obsolete devices. IVE provided hard evidence (from my moms basement of course). You HAVENT. I dont need to know what youve "done for the industry". What i know is set in stone. NO you cant update your box unlike an Nvidia shield. NO you wont be able to update kodi come years time when kodi v.18 comes out because it isnt SUPPORTED by YOU. People WILL be stuck with lead weights due to this.

Kodi v16 launched early 2016 and required Android 4.2 (Android 5.0 or later was recommended).
Kodi Krypton v17 launched early this year and requires Android 5.0 or higher. Your boxes are still loaded with Android "Lollipop" 5.1.....

http://kodi.wiki/view/Supported_hardware

Those that just dropped hundreds WILL have to buy a new box come kodi v.18.
What are you going to do when peoples devices stop working because it wont run Kodi 18? Offer to sell them a "new and improved" box with android 6.0?
Technology doesnt stay stagnate. It evolves almost on a daily basis.

Again, the fact that you cant understand this and resort back to your paid subscriptions as me "not knowing what im talking about" speaks VOLUMES.

I know common sense doesnt really exist anymore but lets use atleast one brain cell for once.

Trust a guy on a boating forum selling rebranded chinese hardware claiming to be the end all be all because of his subscriptions?

Or trust a guy suggesting to go do their research and go with a trusted brand such as , for example, nvidia thats been in the ACTUAL computer industry for +20 years. A company that SPECIALIZES in designing and creating GPU's for the gaming, automotive, engineering industry. A company that offers ACTUAL, not FACEBOOK, support when their hardware.

You tell me. Who would you trust?

FFS Lmao...Same place same time a year or so from now? Ill try to not to rub in the "i told you so"'s so hard.

Waffles, you keep saying that the boxes will be obsolete and not work.. and have said that the older ones won't work now. Except there's guys on here running the very first boxes from years ago (the ones that Dave originally showed me) and they are working fine?

Explain that?

As said before I'm not techy with this stuff.. but the two magic boxes I have in the house work perfectly, drama free? One is a dragon stream and the newer one is the renegade.

RD

Any box running anything below the min requirement will not work. The people that first bought in probably benefited the most because those basic requirements werent met yet ie bought boxes with 5.1 already installed. Older kodi releases like gotham or frodo didnt need such os. Everyone that has been receiving boxes as of late, with 3 year old Lollipop 5.0, are essentially receiving old stock for the same price the initial buyers bought for.
Kodis latest update krypton, which builds/repos are currently building off of, calls for a minimum of Android 5.0 Which the renegade runs. If kodi keeps updating the way it is, Youre minimum requirements arent going to be met come Kodi v18 "leia". Think of it as an expiration date. i paid x amount to drink fresh milk straight from the cows tit....while you or others paid the same x amount to drink milk thats been sitting on the shelf and already expired. Is it drinkable? maybe. Will it go bad soon? absolutely.

The only way this ever worked is because the box being offered exceeded the min requirements at the time.
Thats like me selling this box running Nougat 7

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-Androi...rd-/371906815601?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275

That boxes specs exceed the min requirement needed to run kodi krypton. If i buy that right now, ill be safe until kodi vxxx comes out and the minimum requirements have been met (expires).

Again. the biggest downside to these boxes is you cant update Android os. And most of the time, theyre running old hardware. There is no support what so ever from the manufacture and youll find yourself buying new boxes every other year or so at this point.

You want paid subscriptions? You know you can dl channelup along with any other repo to any box right?

https://channelup.tv/kodi.html

Someone couldve bought, again as an example, an nvidia shield from an established, reputable company that HAS live support, bought a subscription and still wouldve been ahead of the game 100fold. Hypothetically speaking, they wouldve never had to buy another box again.

Again, i never gave a shit about the subscriptions. My thing was the hardware. Paying 4-500 for a $30 box and a $xx subscription.

And again, im not against people charging for providing a service, as long as it's giving a fair value to the customer.

But what I dont like is when a "company" is obviously overcharging for a device and making an insane amount of money off their customer's lack of knowledge.

waffles, you say "you can't". in particular regarding the android os.

They have a button called the OTA updated and I'm pretty sure that's exactly what that does? Updates the firmware to the box?

we've gone round and round on this subject a hundred times.. (literally). I'm pretty sure it was in this thread that you suggested that people don't want to buy something and have it just work..

I'm telling you, so far for people like me this IS the "plug and play" (don't want to learn about it don't care.. just push the button and it works) solution. If you can find one that does the exact things i want it to do cheaper, than I'm all in. So far every single one I have seen falls short in one category (namely ppv fights).

When I have to people over and we are gonna drink beers and watch a fight.. I want that shit to work. The fact that mine stream with no issues makes the couple hundred bucks more than worth it to me several times over. (now)

Show me that you can download and use dragon streams (ppv fights).

Over the air updates can be anything. In this instance, i believe their only updating their streamsmart "build" ie fixing bugs broken links etc etc.
Only way to know for sure is to find out though the devices Settings?>About page. If youre still on 5.1....it didnt update anything.

STOP RIGHT THERE..

There in lies my entire problem with every single post you have made regarding these boxes on RDP (which is now 100's of them). Every time before you touted everything as a fact!! We all must be idiots, and Cable Box Dave is ripping us off. I'm a co conspirator in fleecing the people!! (which also turned out to be wrong)

Waffles, you finally said the two words that matter. "You Believe" not "you KNOW."

For the last and final time that I'm going to bother with this.. YES WE ALL KNOW THERE ARE CHEAPER METHODS TO KODI OUT THERE!! Headshothills sold probably 100+ firesticks on here, and yes have many of the same repositories that are all the same as this one!! WE KNOW! Boozer even put up a thread on how to build one of these boxes for 50.00!!

The fact is though, for non techy people like myself that don't give a shit about learning kodi etc.. this thing is the plug and play easy one to use / self maintaining box. This is the one that if you want to watch a PPV fight is going to give you the best streaming experience for that fight that you are going to get and all you have to do is push a button.

You have constantly harped and harped and harped that this thing is a rip off.. That is a matter of perspective. Is it priced five and six times more than a fire stick? YES!! (again WE ALL KNOW!)

For myself though, when I have 30 people sitting in my garage drinking beers and we are going to watch the latest UFC fight, I know I click dragon streams and it works. I haven't seen another box that can do that. I bought into the idea that a 50.00 fire stick could do it. After hours of fucking with it.. After paying 2.00 through some FB page and a bunch of other shit, I still couldn't get it to work. I walked inside grabbed my old magic box, plugged it in, hit the button and we were streaming UFC. That is my point.

To you that particular feature might not be worth a dollar, five dollars, ten dollars? I dunno. To me though that makes this thing worth the 300.00 all day long! The fact that I can click the wizard and it auto updates EVERYTHING as far as repositories and the latest ones.. WORTH IT!

As far as your Android software comment. There are two seperate updates you can do on the magic boxes. One is inside KODI which is their "wizard" update as said above. On the home screen there is an "OTA Updater" If you click that, it pretty much wipes the box and updates something to do with the firmware. I'm pretty sure that's the android software you are talking about. When you update that, the box will wipe clean, and then it will reinstall the latest wizard when it's done. It's about a ten minute (completely automated process)

That's the reason when you keep saying these things are going to be paperweights that I don't believe you. You have also said the first gen boxes aren't working now.. but there's a lot of guys on here that have them that will tell you they still work just fine.

What you "believe" and what you "know" are two different things.

Yes I get it, they are overpriced for what they are.. but for what they DO they are completely worth it.. At least to me, and other guys like myself. If you just want to watch movies and shows? There's A LOT CHEAPER options out there. (For the 100th time)

Now for the love of christ can you stop being an asshole about it?

Will the code work on the RG4 with the Channelup version?

Dave , I completely agree and I think this is the point he is missing. To tech savy folks , this is a cakewalk. Many or most of us are not. I was talking to a cuz about this last fall and he was telling me no way this can be. Well , a few weeks ago he says he has built 3 boxes and hes happy as shit! BUT, he has no fights or pay per veiw. He spent 80 bucks to build his own , and good for him , but he doesn't watch the fights and d could care less so that works for him . Myself., I ordered the ufc deal and it was 59 bucks , so it wouldn't take long for said paperweight to be golden .
Waffles , I appreciate you're perspective too but .. this is, a combination of greek and Chinese to me , and I'm sure I'm not alone. Its all about convenience, and that costs money.

I built my own Amazon box and managed to get the basics as far as watching movies and tv shows. That being said, I think this post sold me on this set up, I'd say I'm relatively techy, but seriously if this thing works as stated a few hundred is a steal:thumbup:

I was looking a bit at lunch today and didn't find that info. I may look a bit more later but won't waste too much time on it. Waffles has one point, for normal Kodi loads, 17.1 is working way better than 16, developers are moving into that platform. Whatever these box people are doing behind the build, it is working and I don't see any fallout issues in the addons.

There really isn't a right or wrong person here it's all perspective.

I hear what Waffles is saying but I hear what RD is saying also. Hell I've overpaid for something I didn't want to do or felt someone else could do better before it's the way it is. In this case I chose to do it myself as where I agree with waffles the hardware is important because I have seen how different boxes have performed and it does make a difference.

I've said it before in this thread Dave is selling his time and service and that's what you are paying for. It seems he has a good following and great feedback from people so more power to him and wish him the best.

I found the Android version on the Streamsmart Pro box but I don't have a Renegade...yet, soon I will. I'm not posting because just about everyone doesn't care and it really doesn't matter. Just because I understand this technology doesn't mean I care either, I really don't as long as it continues to work as well as it does and I don't seen anything coming that would stop it. I've had my boxes since last July and the last OTA did security updates within the version.

Are you illiterate dave? Do you not know how to interpret context?
What i KNOW can be easily googled to be confirmed TRUE. Ive given examples, links TO DIRECT SITES, you name it to support these claims.
YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING TO DISCREDIT ME.
The only thing that has come out of your mouth for the last 40 pages or so is "hurrrr durrrrrrr push button, drink beer with friends, ufc"
How the fuck is this a valid argument?
When has your boy, the PERSON SELLING THESE THINGS, ever come in and provided irrefutable evidence that what ive said ISNT going to happen? Dont worry....ill wait because he hasnt. Isnt he the "techy" guy? Hes resorted to salesman tactics by calling me a basement dweller that doesnt know what theyre talking about BLAH BLAH BLAH. lmao. I get it, youre mad because i called you out on your BULLSHIT. The BULLSHIT sales pitch of me not knowing what youve done for "the industry". etc etc. \
Not even a simple screenshot to prove me wrong about android 5.1 through settings-> about? it takes all of 20 seconds max to do this. Its on your phone its on your tv....its everywhere.
ITS ALL BULLSHIT

Which brings me back to you, dave.
You, the person that isnt even "selling them", are doing one hell of a job backing and arguing over a PRODUCT YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT. Youve said it yourself. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. So why are you so invested in this one? How many of these boxes have you had sold to you as being the latest and greatest? A simple google search will bring up a list of archives where youve said some contradicting shit.
Heres a beaut....even though you said you dont give a shit how much it costs.

t8nuyt.jpg

Are you that naive or just dumb? Seeing you paid $2 through a fb page im going to go with both on this one.

You dont know SHIT about the subject.

Edit: in regards to updates, There should always be 3. Regardless if its a fire stick or "magic box" there should always be three versions. One that updates the latest build and fixes broken links, repos, clears cache; one that updates the media player ie kodi jarvis->krypon, and one that updates the operating software ie Android.

Like i said, i dont give a shit......just dont be surprised when shit hits the fan and the "i dropped 2k a couple months ago and now this shit doesnt work...wtf dave" call out threads pop up.

Waffles, Android 5.0 is the minimum required for 17.1 Kodi, even 18 is at this requirement. These boxes meet the minimum so what is your issue? My boxes no longer have a kodi media player, it is labeled media player. SPMC is an example of not "Kodi" running apps. If these box people develop a media player that meets the standards for play this will continue to work so again, what is the problem?

If these box people develop a media player that meets the standards for play this will continue to work so again, what is the problem?

18 leia is currently being developed so you cant say if 5.0 is going to be the min requirement. SPMC is Xbmc's little sister. Different face, same guts.
My issue is, as a consumer, when the box you paid 500 for doesnt work anymore because it doesnt meet the requirements? You cant just simply flash the latest rom into these so whats the solution. Lets say i buy the 2box package for 1k, a couple months later leia 18 comes out and requires android 16 to run....would you be ok with dropping $1k on a box that went to shit because it couldn't keep up with the updates?

I, maybe not everyone, entered into this stuff with the full acceptance that it could stop working tomorrow. I've already looked it up and even though 18 is still in development it is being done at a 5.0 minimum requirement. This is easy to find information. I do know that OTA updates can do a lot of stuff, I researched a little last night and Android OS can be version upgraded this way but I don't know if these boxes hardware have that capability, maybe they do maybe they don't, I don't know. I do know that the latest security updates on the version they are running were applied on the last OTA update so that says something. Cost...I did not, would never and will never pay full retail for these things and I feel bad for anyone that does. I don't have an answer for your cost example.

What exactly makes you think the previous builds of Kodi will cease to function once the new one is released? Jarvis didn't stop working when Krypton was released.

Previous versions are not ceasing to work, Jarvis is a great example. What did happen though was addons were starting to work not as good. It is an HTTPS related issue but already being corrected for older versions.

Because builds are built against the newest platforms. Not the otherway around.
Developers arent building off helix or Isengard platforms for example.
Dont believe me? Download the Helix apk and let me know how that works out for you. It wont.

Krypton was "just" released to the public. Not literally but its still relatively fresh

They still work they just slowly get phased out. Build updates are important and you can run older stuff for a bit of time but at some point you're gonna want the latest and greatest. It's like saying windows 98 still functions after windows 10 was released and didn't stop working. Can you run it, sure, do you want to?

I have a hard time believing they will just abandon required updates to the build that the overwhelmingly vast majority of people are using, seeing as this is open source and community developed. I'd bet law enforcement puts an end to it before a new build of Kodi would.
