OCM Tim ripped off a bunch of white guys. What are they going to do, post their displeasure on the internet?

I hope this is dealt with in the courts and not the streets. I didn’t say anyone was going to be killed, and certainly not directly by the dude we have a picture of his face.

But we do live in a world where people do get hurt over less than a couple hundred grand sometimes.

Half this site won’t even go to Mexico out of fear.
So your friend is not white? Noted.

Currently in Oregon working for a car dealership.. (how that happens with his record I dunno)
That's a surprise to me, in California, to get your sales license through the DMV, they background check for anything involving "moral turpitude" (I hope I spelled that right). Anything slightly dodgy in your past and its a no go, even after serving time/restitution, etc.

Hope the ammo is in a separate container there, bub.
Lol just joking with the new guy.

Few of my trucks do have the factory locking safe under the seat. I have been told I can leave a piece in there as long as ammo or clips are in glove box. All my trucks have separate locking tool boxes as well.

I had my Nieces and Nephews with me this weekend. And since they were born i don't carry or leave guns around even if locked up. Until they learn gun safety but they are to young still. Was teaching them how to operate watercraft yesterday as the river was empty.

I’d imagine it’s like the movie casino. Where Robert De Niro’s character is running the casino while being the “janitor/valet/etc”.

Just run the sales through someone else and have them kick back the commissions.

This thread has it all. Now there are implied threats for re posting, what's already been posted. Wild times we live in.

I texted Curt yesterday 2x’s and have received no response. I want my deposit back and I have spoken with him about it numerous times and have always gotten the run around for the last couple of months. I’m wondering how many people’s deposits were taken? I supposedly was boat #29.

It’s interesting that based upon the draw schedule, there was never really a large enough amount to equal a motor draw.

Unless they were buying one motor at a time.
Pretty sure his story somewhat fell apart. Yes it’s valid about Luxe but his embellishment in the details fell apart.

Damn 29 boats sold and coolant make it work.

I hope you get your money back. I know of 2 other guys that have deposits out. Both are in before you with the same story.

There were other draws from other people in parallel. You can’t look at each boat and as an individual revenue stream and construct each boat out of it.

That looks like a begging Carlos for money to pay back Paul who you robbed to pay Peter.

This story has already flown off the rails. First it was 6 figure deposits. Then it was structured draws that involved people not receiving motors.

Once again I think everyone should be made whole but the beginning of this thread indicated that LUXE took six figure payments and provided no progress. Now it appears that the draws were much smaller and that the customers were not following up on LUXE progress.

This doesn’t justify LUXE not completing boats but it doesn’t look like they were out to fuck anyone. It seems like they ran out of cash or were not good at running the business.

Edit. Now we got bad hombres willing to kill over not receiving a completed 280k boat. Even though they do have something.

He never said anything about a singular 6 figure deposit that I saw. (I may have missed it?)
He said there’s been hundreds of thousands in deposits and that is true.
Everyone keeps questioning his posts…yet I’ve shown at least one lawsuit filed, the doors are closed, at least 2 “customers” have posted as well as Facebook posts all confirming the truth.
Not sure what validity of claims you are continuing to question?

It’s not just his posts. Others have indicated it. And like I’ve said, no one participating in this thread is an owner or deposit holder. It’s all “buddies”. I don’t understand why friends are going to be more fired up about a 100-300k loss than the guy/gal who’s out the actual money.

I don’t think I or anyone has said that LUXE fulfilled their obligations. They absolutely came up short. There’s some gray area on who got a complete boat vs who didn’t.

It seems that their intentions are in question. Was it bad business, theft, a bad understanding of accounting etc?

I’m not even sure the 100’s of thousands in deposits is true at this point. 29 POs?? That’s a lot lol. DCB can barely turn out 8 boats a year. And they have the real deal financing and business structure behind them. LUXE was able to back log 3+ years worth of business inside of a year or 2?

You posted the 1 lawsuit on record that I’m aware of. So only one buyer is going the distance? That seems like a stretch to me but maybe everyone else is just playing catch up?

It’s just not adding up. Everyone wants another OCM Tim to crucify. And maybe this is the same scenario but it sure doesn’t present itself that way.

Brother,

Take a few minutes and reread the thread from the people that provided actual information here, not people making assumptions based of color commentary.

I’ll summarize for you:

My and others here said people have hundreds of thousands of dollars into a few of these boats and now have incomplete boats because the doors are closed. That does not mean each person has that much into their boat. It does not mean it was a 100k deposit per boat.

I mentioned there were milestone payments along the way. The guy just posted a receipt showing that was exactly the case.. payments over time and that guy has couple racks into that boat.

There is more than one person in this situation and the boats in construction are in various stages of completion.

Then you have people that have deposits out (one member actually in this thread) that were in line for construction and that is another couple dozen people above and beyond boats in construction.

If this guy with the reciept posted has $200k out, another guy I know of is similar, and 20 people have a $10k deposit, that’s $600k.

This thread started with me saying people have given this company hundreds of thousands of dollars and either have no boat, or an incomplete boat. That is irrefutable. I said this has been going on for awhile, you can look up the lawsuit from late last year, also irrefutable.

There is nothing unraveling about this story. It’s been the same song and dance from Luxe for about a year, and now the place is closed.

There is not a forensic audit on this. Im
Not giving out anyone’s financial or personal details that I may be aware of, and the customers out money are just trying to connect with each other.

I’ve heard there have been threats as you’d expect, and some shady characters sometimes come with that.

Beyond the PSA of not putting a deposit down on a Luxe, confirming that some people got stiffed on incomplete boats and deposits os the only purpose I have in this thread. The situation has been lingering awhile, and the story is the same.

I think what you meant to say was that LUXE has taken in 6 figures worth of money across (supposedly) 29 deposit holders. And of those 29 under 5 people are involved in not receiving complete boats. Of those 5 2-3 got screwed on payments that were intended for Mercury motor purchases.

There are roughly 20ish deposit holders who are out 10-15k and they may never see that money.

Still there’s only 1 existing lawsuit.

I know there is a bunch of deposits, even Griner had one on order.

Honestly I think the boats were sold too cheap.. it looks like they were being sold at sub 300k for a twin 450 boat. That invoice shows 265? So by the time you have the motors and the trailer that isn’t leaving a lot to buy the tools build the top all the billet screens stereo fiberglass etc

A twin 450 Avalon or trifecta around the same time would be approaching 400’ish +/-

Trying to associate actual numbers of deposit holders and built vs partial vs nothing and moneys is gonna be a pretty futile effort.

We wouldn’t have any of those details

Because none of us have facts. Reality is, the numbers posted above is closest you have. That person would be entitled to the difference of what they paid and what was promised to be completed by that stage vs what they actually got. The court has to look at all that. But, it's very unlikely any singular person is out six figures. I would imagine if you got to that stage you had some proof of stages of completion. In other words there's at least part of a boat. This is essentially the basis of Hawkins vs Mcgee. The difference between what was promised and what you got.

The deposit holders are different. They are obviously out everything. There's nothing there for them.

Now we get into secured and unsecured transactions. Secured creditors will be first in line followed by unsecured(likely most purchasers).

How did the kachina owner die?
I actually can't remember other than it was business related.

The amount of deposit money taken was over time, prob over a year.
You can't stay in business like this with 25-35k a month coming in.
You guys make it sound like there's 600000 in deposits last month

Maybe they will restructure. It's a great alternative to a normal pontoons that have changed very slowly over the decades.
You never know.....the hard part getting started is done, someone could hop right in.
Horizon tried to resurrect magic, maybe this should be a the luxury horizon pontoon. I think people would have no problem buying from them.
Also, he didn't take deposits on the resurrection, I tried to get in line.

Again, logic has no place here!

Side note, are we going to Pomona in November? Things are looking good on my side again. Hopefully I don’t become a statistic and leave with Covid as an originator like last time! 🤬

so if I got this right
The owner take money on a new build as a deposit. (10/15 builds @ 10% down ). Closes the door.
And this guy is still walking around .

There is always so much more to the stories that aren’t gonna get told..

Long story short he had a ton of deposits at 10k each. He built three boats and partials of others..
he lost his life savings his house and his marriage trying to keep the thing afloat..

There are people that didn’t get what they paid for, their is at least one guy that is out 160 and has nothing..

From what I have gathered he is still out there trying to pan this thing out and hopefully make it right with people, whether that happens or not time will tell.

… I can’t believe I read this whole thread

…I know nothing about this situation other than the fragmentary stuff that has been posted… but I can tell you one thing for sure … let me rephrase that…I believe I know this by stories told to me over many years by an old drinking buddy …

…There are Bill collectors out there walking around…that you would never suspect what they did for a living…

… My crystal ball has been broken for a few years so I can’t come up with a tinfoil hat theory of how this is all might end🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m going to guess horizon is making more money selling trifecta than they would if they started to manufacture luxe on their own. Also like Dave stated trifecta is coming out with a drop down side door shortly.

Seems like a good deal. Can’t remember if the bottom was “fixed” on this one. I know it’s a heavy toon but it should do ok with the 300’s.

Last I heard he was still trying to get financing.
I’d assume if no financing by now he won’t get it. He is going to be way behind in rent etc. also getting a loan with only a few years in biz is pretty much impossible.

Well not so much a loan as looking for a partner in the biz. I know he had some meetings with established mfg’s to potentially take over the line and mfg’ing
