I think every man before the age of 50 should experience a year or two as a vette owner (if they fit).

My budget was a 1986 Z51 Corvette with the 7 speed manual. I took ownership at 92,000miles in 2003, and the engine was bumped up to something closer to 325hp.

I put about 1500 miles of hard play on it, and sold it for what I paid for it $7K. Never really felt safe once it got above 100 mph.

I realized I have too many toys, and it was an easy one to part with, as I hadn’t gotten too attached, and it took up (inside) parking space.

That 327 engine in your 1977 vette seems strange. Id check it for accuracy, and look over all the conversion linkages.
I put a 1978 350 Chevy short block with vortec heads, in a 1983 suburban, that had a 307, and ran into a few issues. Most of it was mounting brackets for the AC and Alternator, but remember going through 3 different Checker Auto lifetime starters, because of the SAE/Metric difference in the Transmissions using Turbo 400 vs a 700r4. I was chewing through Bendix gears.

Good luck, and enjoy. 😉

Found a photo of the ‘76 that my pops bought in ‘79 for $5,500 with 25,000 miles. I was born in ‘83 and he had to sell in ‘84 because we couldn’t fit my mom with us 😂

I always felt like the jackass who made him sell his dream car. I helped him get this 2017 Z06 (bought it new in 2018). Made him do a 38 year comparison when I found the photo taken in ‘81 😆

This new one is a garage queen. He uses it Sunday’s to go to his coffee shop to shoot the 💩 with his friends… a full 4-5 mile round trip 😂 needless to say car only has about 3,000 miles til this day.

Let's see some daylight pics!

A nice 383 would work Real well in that car.

Don't listen to Jerry and ruin it with an LS! 😁
Right? I like this smog exempt vette . The punched out 351 in my Fairlane makes enough power to break parts, and I had Heath build me a 421 SBC for one of my flatbottoms that made over 600 hp that'd be perfect in this car. I'd see what that 327 is and start throwing $$ there if it was mine 😁

Heath definitely knows what he's doing...

When I worked at JMS, a stroker 331 came in for some service. When I drove it, I about shit my pants! 🤣

Until you've driven a well built stroker, you really don't know what you're missing. 👍🏼

I mean, it would be better than one of yore carbed 2V 5.4 dealios! 😂

I’d actually drop a 406 SBC in there….
There’s nothing a 383 can do, that a 406 can’t do better for the same money

Strap a couple hairdryers to the 5.4 some heads, intake crank rods pistons all on that stock block and make 3k+ horsepower. Are there any stock mass produced GM blocks that can handle that?

Answer: No

My dad has always been a Vette guy, this was me driving his restored '82 collectors edition back when I was in high school. He used to get so mad that my '89 Foxbody 5.0 would smoke his ass! First car I ever drove was one of his C3's

Once my 392 sells, I plan on picking up a C6 or C7 ZO6, Vettes are just fun to drive!

It’s doesn’t have the 327. The guy I bought if from thinks it’s a small block 350. I need to check the numbers and find out. It’s got some get up and go for sure. Will definitely smoke the tires and break traction going into 2 at least. Ask me how I know. 😀

At 40K I don't think there's another car out there that will run 11's in the quarter and go 198-202MPH, not to mention some serious g's on good sticky tires.
Always liked the last year of the Stingray body.

I've driven a C7 Z06, that thing is wicked fast, haven't driven the C6 yet. The C6 with that N/A 427 should be no slouch I'm sure, plus a little easier on the wallet.

I was really tossed when I bought mine, the C7 with the blower motor was appealing to say the least.
Depending on where you look the C6 is almost 400lbs. lighter than the same C7 Z06.

This video is where I decided on the C6.

Sure, whatever it was it obviously cut you deep!
I had a buddy that was diehard chevy that got it broke off in his ass by a stock block 5.4 so he switched to a winning combination🤣, no deep cut here, my brand has the blade😉

Stock block, trick flow heads billet crank.... the stock 5.4 blocks are legit, hell the stock LS blocks are no slouch at being able to handle 2k hp. In the 90's you had to buy aftermarket blocks and hope they held together at 1200hp, it's crazy what has come around. I don't know what current stock hemi blocks are able to handle but I'm sure it's at least 2k

They definitely both put a smile on your face when stabbing the throttle… no doubt!

The sound of the NA inhaling all the air it possibly can creating raw power in the C6 Z06 is awesome… the whining of the C7 Z06 forcing that air down is fu$king awesome… can’t go wrong with either!
