If you just look at it is a 1975 Chevy, then you’ll be OK. As long as you’ve addressed the structural issues. All this non-numbers car etc. don’t play with a 75 Corvette. People are starting to not be embarrassed about those and they’re driving them around now. There’s a guy in Santa Clarita that has one it’s a bad sounding mofo. I’ve done a little bit of work on the earlier vettes, they’re a little bit different, but not much.
You just have to get the attire now. Members only jacket maybe, proper shoes.😂

I think this is a cool car for the money, depends what you want to do with it. Probably not a big money maker for resale at the moment. I have a 69 with LS3 & 6 speed and hoping that C3 corvettes will continue to come up in value with enthusiast and collectors. You really have 2 category of C3, chrome bumper 68-72 and the rubber bumper cars 73/74 and up. 73 has rear chrome and front rubber.

One good thing about corvette is that you can purchase any part for repair /replacement aftermarket. always try to restore-reuse the original part when possible because most repop's aren't quite as good in fit/function as the original.

this would be a fun car to drop a 383 crate motor into if you are looking for a fun weekend cruiser.

Skidmarc there is a twenty something guy on you tube that has a channel called "thecorvetteben".
He is in Texas, I have been watching him since he was just outta high school, he specializes in C3 work.
Married, w/kids has a small shop at home. He knows these cars pretty well, buys and sells and scraps them.
You might find value in watching some of his videos.
Have fun with the car.

After taking with the owner. Seems super straight forward and upfront about everything. So against my wife preference made an offer and I’m going to pick up Saturday morning.
Good Job!! Sounds like you've always wanted one, you've got the itch, now scratch it.
The only regrets I've had on vehicles are the ones I didn't buy.
Have no regrets on anything I've bought.
Enjoy!!!

One of my girlfriend's brothers bought a '78 Corvette with the L48. He was mocked mercilessly for buying a supposed performance car with...190 HP.

That’s Awesome! Sexiest car ever made. Some years more than others, but there is no mistaking a Corvette. Liking forward to seeing it.

Right! Gotta get a vette shirt now. Thank you though. Super stoked. Not a fast car or the most desirable but fulfilling my childhood dream of owning a vette. Gotta pretty sick 1929 chopped and dropped Studabaker. This will add to the collection. Studabaker below. Had a thread on here about the interior build.

If everything is as the guy says which after talking with him allot, I really like him and believe him. I know I don’t know him, but I know liars. He doesn’t seem to be one. I guess I’m old school with trust. Hopefully it doesn’t bit me in the ass. But I always go with my gut. My gut says this is supposed to be my first Vette. 71 year old real dude. Seems to know his shit. Not really looking to go crazy with this but just cruise with the wife to Cronies and have a good time.

People who mock people loves or ambitions are just not people I choose to be around. Love with love!

Edit: but you never know when a small block crate engine comes into play! But I’m not telling the wife! 😀

The flathead has damn near the same power as the 350
Or 305. the fact they put a 305 in a corvette Is wtf moment. I have a couple of my own and work on a few for customers. One customer has a 74 corvette. He came to me with a story of he was driving down the freeway and it just stopped running. He knows he broke it and we order an engine for it. we finally get the car in and get it up on a lift. Oil pan has a whole bunch of hammering marks from the inside. We get it out and pull the pan. The crank was in 3 pcs. Two broken rods bent push rods. This thing came the fuck apart. I asked him again about how it quit running. Driving down. no big noice. We got the new engine in and updated about everything on the car. He picks it up and drives it for a couple of weeks He stops by and wants to let me know that he has had more fun in the car in the last two weeks than he has had since owned. Some bad experiences with other shops. Come to find out later he is pretty much deaf so that explains the just quit running. He is 80 years old and looks 65. The engineer part is we are going to be changing the intake manifold for the fourth time because he changed his mind. He pays for it. Some people.

I previously had a 72 stingray that I disassembled to the frame in an attempt to do a ground up restoration. Needless to say it became a little overwhelming trying to do this around work schedule, I traded the 72 for almost complete 69 that had undergone a frame off resto. I had LS3 GM connect and cruise crate motor and T56 6-speed installed, just putting finishing touches on this now but want to drive it and enjoy it.

Let me know if you have any questions around any of the mechanics of the 75 as all C3's are basically the same under the body.

My 1980 Vette with Gymkhana suspension handled much better than previous model Vettes, albeit power was dismal even with L82. 0-60 was 7.6 sec at best. Towed my Spectra OK. Sold it and used my 64 Linc to tow the boat, much better.

You need a radar arch....

Complete thread drift. But this video took me down memory lane, not because of the Vette.
My Dad bought a well used 69 Polara CHP car.
Painted it Lime green with the White top. (Need to factor the time period here)
Gave it to my Mom, She hated it. I loved it.
Large bench seat in front, Huge bench in back.. 😁 😁 440 Hi Po.
In the hands of a 16 yr old?? What's not to like!!

For those not familiar with this mythical car. Here's this.

Now back to our regular scheduled program..

Thank you barely 100 miles on the motor just working out small bugs, wants to run! 6-speed is a gas!
When I bought my Vette I hadn't rowed gears for a long time, forgotten how much fun it is. 👍

Unless limited the CHP 5.0 Mustang's and Z28 Camero's both went over 150mph. I may or may not have first hand knowledge🙄 that the heavier LX hatchback Mustang will pretty easily exceed 140mph

CHP went with the spoiler-less non GT "LX" notch back body style as it was a hair quicker than the GT, with less obstructions along the bottom of the body. Those cars were quick for their time and only really struggled to keep up with Corvettes and exotics. Hard to believe they were in service for over 10 years!!

Being a Bowtie Guy, I favored the 4th Gen F body. By far the sexiest vehicle CHP ever used!!

Way cool!
Funny story, when my son was born1995, I would pick him up from mil. I told my wife that I was buying the neighbors vette(early 70's) and he and I were going to cruise until she got off work. She was a little upset as it was a two seater. She quit a few weeks later, stay home mom,no vette for me and my son.
Still like that body style.
Enjoy your ride 👍
