I currently have some friends at the Havasu ER and their baby girl needs to get to Phoenix Children's Hospital.

Allegedly it's too hot for the helicopters to fly? They are going to drive her to Phoenix with the intubation crew.

Hoping someone on here has some experience with this type of thing or a connection at either hospital.

Do they already have a policy for life flight? If so why not a jet unless it is to short of flight.
I can hope and pray for the best for the little girl no matter how she gets to where she can receive the care she need. 🙏

Is Vegas closer.
Son had a lifeflight grounded due to storms in CO. They sent him from Granbe to Denver with a police escort.
30 minutes into drive, heli was cleared and they transferred him on the highway and he flew rest of way

I could get a jet or prop plane to Havasu airport fairly easily.

I think the plane/helicopter needs to be set up for medical treatment.

I sent out a text to the former lifeflight pilot to see if he has any insight or a way to get them there faster.

I’m praying for you.. the most stressful thing in the world dealing this.

Someone said the same thing to me. I'm not sure.

Maybe because it's pediatric?

I am sorry to hear about a sick baby. And I am not a pilot but could they stabilize her and wait till the temps drop in the late night or early Am vs. ground transport? Or look at vegas

@SOCALCRICKETT

Correct, helicopters can't fly in extreme heat, I don't know why though

makes sure the parents are pushing for the transfer.
My son was code blue, I called the Denver hospital he was getting transferred to and asked what options were available and said cost is the least of my worries. It was a 25k flight

We don't have a ton of info about the situation.

Just got asked if we knew any way to get a helicopter.

I don't but we know people with private planes and I have the wealth of knowledge/connections on RDP.

So just doing what I can to maybe help out.

Really small world. My daughter is a nurse at PCH and is working admitting tonight. She took the call on this case. I won't know anything because of hippa laws etc.
I’ll pm you

The news was talking and interviewing about the temps in death valley over the next couple of days and said that rescue helicopters cannot fly in those extreme temps, those are turbine helicopters.

This wasn’t due to temperature, someone had a report of a dust storm in between here and phoenix.. that got cleared up and they are flying.

God bless this site.

When summer was a baby the front top of her head swole up and they weren’t sure if it was meningitis or not (basically a death sentence if you aren’t treated immediately).

A member here happened to be on the board of children’s hospital. I don’t know if they treat everyone like that but the response at the hospital was overwhelming.. turns out it was corona virus. They got her fixed up and we went back to havasu after a day or two there.

Most stressful thing I think I have ever done was following that ambulance all the way to phoenix..

I just about broke down in tears the staff was so friendly and on top of it.

This site and it's reach always amazes me!

Phoenix Children's Hospital has been great to me and my family. I hate hospitals, they scare the hell out of me...but I've spent a few nights there the past couple years. The staff has always been amazing. If you head to the cafeteria for a cup of coffee at 1am, a lot of policemen take their "lunch" there. Safest place around.

Prayers for the little one, and the family. Stressful time 😔

Oh man, prayers for this little girl!

I cant even imagine. I just tucked mine into bed and exhausted after her running us crazy today. God forgive me for being impatient as this sick little one is in your hands and in the air. Please heal her with your amazing powers.
