That is just frickin Cool in every respect. If you created 7 hot boat lovers and they have kids its a pyramid deal. My best family memories are camping on the river and buying all the new water toys to try out..................................Cool dad

It always amazes me when one of us finds the time;) to go waaaaaay back in the RDP archives and pull out one of the old threads that is worth continuing.....some more.

Seeing everyone's boats is really cool. I still probably won't recognize any of you when I get to the water. You are all just a blur with your fast-as-hell boats.:)

As I looked at all of your pics, I realized that I don't have a single pic of my boat with it on the water and in motion. The only pics are on the driveway or from inside the boat....'cause the picture taker (me) is always driving.;)

Here it is anyway.

Now that you've had it a little while, how fast did you run the red one...comfortably:cool:....uncomfortably:eek:?

How long are gonna keep it? In other words, when you have a go-fast boat like that, does it seem like one dimensional fun after a while?

Or is there always that need for speed?

Well, it certainly isn't an "All Purpose" kind of deal, that's for sure!
We have had it out twice.
The second time was about 15-20 minutes. Then the 8 gallons or so of $8.00 a gallon fuel was gone.

It did 117 and change according to my buddies hand held. ( I have the GPS speedo to install this year, with tattletale).
It was extremely comfortable at that speed. I did not believe the hand held, I would have guessed MAYBE 100, compared to the Miller at 70 and flatty I had at around 80
With the level of Shasta being so low last year, truthfully there was no where to launch it by mid-late summer. You can't just wheel it over dirt roads, Launching is sort of a chore. You need your tools and have to wade out to attach the rudder.

Shasta is not the best place to have it. But if the level would at least cover the ramps this year I plan on taking it out a lot in the early evenings.

It ain't for sale yet. I sold the flatty, and the Miller should be all together either this month or next. So we still have a somewhat normal boat.

I have had "go fast" stuff most of my adult life, so I personally would not call it one dimensional. But if going out for the whole day, it would be best to tow it to the picnic spot with the Miller, then go make blasts in it now and then.:beer:beer

Thanks, WTG.

I was just curious.

I just have a stock 7.4 EFI with headers. I like NOT having to wrench on it. I suppose if you gave me one of those pretty blue 525's. I wouldn't turn it down, as long as it stayed reliable. But I don't think that I'm the guy to have a high performance boat like yours.

I bet it's a blast, though, and I wouldn't turn down a ride.:D

I probably am not the guy either! I cuss them while working on them, as does Debbie. But when you hang on and throttle it, all that goes away real fast!

If you've never ridden in a fast hot rod boat, I recommend doing so.
My buddy that bought my flatty has a nice lake boat, a Sea Ray, I think it is. He came from Idaho last fall to visit. We managed to get the flatty launched even though Shasta was near record low.

We were cruising along (read BOUNCING along) around 4K RPM and I found some flat water.
I nailed it and buzzed about 6K real fast. He grabbed the passenger handle and started screaming "slow down!!!"

He drove it a little and got pretty comfortable, even though he would not leave it punched for long, maybe 5-6 seconds at a time.
On the way home from the lake He had me swing by WAMU in Redding and took out the cash to buy it, boat still hooked to my truck!
So yeah, they are addictive.
To be fair, He and I used to drag race together years ago, and he has a 65' Pro Street Chevy II that is insane, so he is kind of a speed freak too.
The Hydro will be the first to go however if my income keeps dropping.:(:(

Hell that qualifies as a small Navy!.....right on
Sadly our group went the way of life commitments and i am the only one left making noise on the water. About a year ago i took my pics collection to the local drugstore and had every thing put on disks, running them through the scanner one at a time was less than enjoyable.
