People like to rub my boat for some odd reason. They say "That's looks so smooth !"

I was "beside my self" when these two Nymphs "disrobed" in my shiny boat years back

Good grief, put the Koozie deal on a scale of 1 tto 10....... .001 in my book I keep my boat nice, don't beach it I can avoid it, don't tie up to docks either, but a Koozie, really! If I'm not feeling a crowd, then I wouldn't put my boat on that beach in the first place.

🖕 To both of you funny guys. 😄

I have a habit of calling it "The 43" because we also have a '69 17-foot Glastron we use on our lazier days and refer to that as "The Jungle Cruise."

I really wouldn't be too thrilled with someone leaning on that one either.

Probably have missed the post or posts regarding the comparison Wizard incident & Channel Water Gun Nonsense. Cannot understand the tolerance of morons blasting pressurized water into complete strangers boats. Anybody floating thru that channel no matter the cost or type of boat ,they are proud of that boat.
Wizard would lose his mind as most of us would or possibly charged with Manslaughter over these morons with cannons. Nothing right about it.

Actually, that comparison hasn't been made in this topic yet, but that should be good for a few more pages. 😄

I don't go to the channel, but the whole water cannon thing is wrong. And yes, I would lose my mind over that. Enough so that I'd probably build some sort of pump deal to completely blast any idiots with water cannons I might encounter. Those that know me well enough know I'm not kidding when I say that.

My book reads a little different. In addition to a coozie, it includes suntan lotion, armpit sweat, sand, and potential bracelets/other jewelry items that can mark or scratch.

It also has a chapter on common courtesy and respect.

Water cannon would wash the suntan lotion and cuzzie stain right off the gel.

I gave up a long time ago, because my wife can't go into the water without touching the side of the boat the entire way.😆

Just don't get sand on my gel.

This is a classic example of missed communication. Most of us on here know exactly where the OP is coming from and his intentions. I too have almost come to blows with dudes leaning up against or pressing their ass against my car. That shit causes scratches only the owner/detailer will care about. I’m not sure a sunscreen smear or koozie is the same, but I have my own quirks about things that irritate me with people around my boat. I understand your intentions and your frustrations. The offender probably doesn’t. If you look at the situation from his eyes, he probably thought he was just admiring your boat and your company. He didn’t comprehend the small nuances of your inconvenience, and took it as more of a god complex and flexing your superiority. That’s why he woke up with anal sadness..

The guy was there to relax, have a good time, make friends, and eat brats. Instead he felt challenged and disrespected. I have absolutely no doubt the OP never meant to make him feel that way in any way shape or form. That’s the funny thing about communicating with other people. Even the smallest insignificant comments from one person can be absolutely devastating to the next person. Even when there was zero intention behind it.

I’m not saying the OP did or said anything wrong, just saying the guy interpreted in a way the OP wasn’t trying to convey.
2 pages in, and I am far far away from boating at the level of equipment being discussed here, as Y'all can see. The 19' SeaRay, top left. 20 years owned this year.

That being said, most inexperienced in Boat, have zero idea just how much work, Blood, Sweat, and Tears goes into keeping up a boat, safely piloting a performance boat. Safety/responsibility for the safety of passengers, other craft while underway, Rules of the Road, expense, checklists, everything involved. The before prep, and the amount of time it takes to return watercraft to an acceptable level of clean after a day on the water, let alone as immaculate as most of the beautiful examples on the pages here.

OP and Wifey were tactful. Maybe the Newby couple would understand better if invited to pre launch, launch, recover, and wipe down?
Good luck!

One perspective:

Exotic Car Owner's Code of Conduct

1. My cars will always be clean and well presentable. I will ensure that my cars are in the highest state of mechanical condition and maintenance. Exotics are indeed rare, and to see one is a special experience. I have an obligation to present these cars to others at a high standard.

2. I will always be polite, courteous, and friendly. I will not talk down to or ignore anyone, and I will cheerfully answer all questions. Exotic owners wrongly suffer from a "snob" label. By actively and always countering this, I will strive to change this perception among all whom I meet.

3. Where feasible, I will encourage inspection and observation of my cars. If someone is clean and courteous, I will encourage them to sit in my cars. I will actively encourage photographs. In particular, I will encourage this among younger children. On occasion, I will offer rides to admirers under the appropriate circumstances.

4. With one exception (see 5, below), I will obey all traffic laws or local traffic customs. Especially, I will pass other cars only in marked, safe passing zones, and I will always respect traffic speeds and noise ordinances within city limits. I will always drive in a defensive manner to protect myself and my vehicle. I will not initiate nor will I respond to challenges to race my cars on open public roads.

5. Operating my cars as God, Enzo, and Ferruccio (or Colin) intended will occur only on open, rural routes free of heavy traffic or on appropriately designated race courses. On public highways, I will use my highest powers of observation and diligence to ensure that I place myself, my vehicles, and the public in no additional danger. I will be aware of the environment and road conditions, and I will not drive at excessive speeds on unknown or suspect roads. When approaching blind corners or hills, I will assume that an obstacle exists and will take appropriate defensive measures.

6. I will share my passion and excitement for exotic cars with others through community service and charitable events. I will actively seek out community organizations such as local police departments and schools and offer my cars for use in events such as DARE programs, homecoming parades, pep rallies, etc. Many communities have "Make a Wish" foundations for sick children. If given the opportunity, I will offer a day with myself and my cars to such organizations in an effort to brighten an otherwise trying life for someone less fortunate than I.

7. I will be honest and open with other enthusiasts, and I will accurately represent my cars to prospective owners and buyers. I will keep complete records, and I will always follow up with purchasers of my cars to ensure that they continue to gain maximum satisfaction and appreciation for cars that I have owned and serviced.

8. I will always have a smile on my face when inspecting, driving, or showing my cars to others. I will never forget how fortunate I've been to own such automobiles and I will constantly remind myself that the future is uncertain, and that today may be as good as it gets.
