Thanks Jr.
I see they added an opening in the back.
Client had multiple external hinges added as well.
I always worry something will catch on a leg sliding around.

Didn’t notice the hinges.
My guess is the customer might have requested them. I know they had a hatch ram fail on them and couldn’t get the hatch open. With those hinges it’s much easier to open in that circumstance

Had the same problem - took about 8 hours to fix

Getting the back seat off was fun- had to build a tool...

slenderman himself couldnt get to it through the vents so I cut a hole....

Once in the hole getting the ram off was fun as the mirror blocked wrench, then the bolt didnt want to come out.

Its measured from the bow eye to the drain plug so its about 2 feet longer than that in reality.

Thanks! I think my ideal Lavey would be a 32 with twins, but if I had to stay with a single I'd probably do the 29.

Jeff Camire was a ”fade-master”. His ability to fade and ghost paint is what made so many Laveys unique. If you looked closely many Laveys barely had any solid colors, there was Soo much going on.
IMO If guys like Troy Lee Designs have come to you to spray and build them a boat, then yeah you’re kinda The Shit. I’d love to see some pics of his boat again, but I think there might have been some kind of gentlemen's agreement between Troy and Jeff not to post up? Maybe LaveyJr or UD can shed some light?
My buddy and I both bought 2750s at the 07 show. I think that blue fade on my bud‘s boat or UD’s is my new favorite boat color.

Crazy how diff the bow looks to me in
MCOB configuration. The closed setup has this spine look down the middle I can’t get away from.

Any photos of a 2750 w/ a windshield?

I've always thought Lavey's gel was some of the best in the business, from application to artistic.

Jeff was a master no doubt.

Post Jeff spraying them, the remaining guys in the field is very small and those few guys are all pretty awesome as well.
It sadly becoming a lost art with our beloved Gelcoater and only a few guys left running from shop to shop.

The detail wasnt just the outside. Lavey always paid lots of attention to the glass everywhere spending many man hours buffing polishing and smoothing making sure everything you touched had a superb finish.

The liner boats 2750/29/32/39 have vast smooth cabins that take a long time post mold to turn into what the client ultimately gets.

Yes LJ, That was Troy Lee’s Boat. Jeff showed it to me towards the end of the build and I was blown away.
My apologies to Gelcoater, I guess I just assumed Jeff sprayed it.
Gelcoater, I salute you for that masterpiece. You are a true Jedi Gel-man.
What’s funny is I didn’t know it was for Troy? 😂
Which I thought strange, Troy and I had collaborated on another project a few years before with a different mfg.

It wasn’t Troy Lee’s boat. That boat is owned by the owner of Fabtech (the truck suspension company).
Troy Lee did the drawing rendering for the gel design.

OK. Thanks for the correction Jr. Don’t want to spread any BS, so Sorry for all the confusion fellas. My dumbass needing a Miracle Ear probably wasn’t picking up all the details after hearing Troy Lee and still reeling from the shock & awe of seeing Gelcoaters handi work. Lol. Either way. The whole Lavey team is Badass and ought to be very proud of the legacy they’ve forged. Hud.

its funny, I have a couple spots that I need gel repaired and the 2 guys I've taken it to both commented about how every single color and panel is a fade and how much harder that makes. The defnitely stand out for sure.

Does anyone know why you cannot find a value for any Lavey newer than a 2013?
Just sold our 2002 2750 and was looking at a newer Lavey and there no values from NADA or JD Power.
Thanks

Looking back at this thread I couldn’t be happier I bought a 29’. We were out all weekend and the chop from steam boat to the channel was like a washing machine. The faster you go the more the boat likes it. Not once did I feel any shake or movement. The boat is as solid as I’ve ever ridden in and my buddies that have ridden in it are all impressed. Thanks to Lavey for building such a stout quality boat. 🇺🇸

Agreed. Love our 29 with Teague 825, the thing is a solid freight train that bashes through anything fast. Just wished we used it more.

Lavey provided a bit of factory support, but a few privateers raced a custom 2750 off shore for a few years, and did quite well. I am not aware of any other West Coast boats that did that. They are built tough for sure.

Factory 1, Key West, Who will win? Who will finish?-florida-2004-014.jpg
Warlock, Adavantage, and Eliminator all had factory support. I raced a Warlock and owned a LaveyCraft. The Camires are great people, the entire family, and truly made it a “great day for boating”. You can’t go wrong with a LaveyCraft.

Your boat was one of my favorites. Stock Merc 600 power good for a solid mid-high 70’s no matter the load and low-mid 80’s if you wanted to lighten it up and run it out. Plus it has the whole whipple upgrades if more power is ever wanted.

During one of my testing days with it, my wife came with me and said if Kevin sells this boat she wanted it. Need less to say we couldn’t make it happen and you now have the boat! Glad you love it! Here’s a few pics my wife took during testing.

My wife picked LaveyCraft after walking past it at the 96 boat show, I went to buy a 210 Hallet and couldn’t get anyone to talk to me at their booth so we headed back to Lavey to see why she liked it so much. It offered more than any boat its size so we scheduled a test drive and ordered a new one that day. Never regretted it and only sold it because we started boating in the ocean more and more, that wouldn’t have happened with a 210 Hallett.

Lavey makes a gorgeous boat and just as solid. They were very high on the list when we were looking at boats.

I wouldn't think twice about owning one.

Went down to their facility to view their selections.

Very nice folks over at Lavey.

Had a great experience touring their shop and getting to speak with them on their build process.

HI all and Happy fourth of July. Had to jump in here on the Lavey forum. My buddy has a 32 nu-era and it is unreal! The boat slices through the havasu chop like a razor blade. These boats were built with incredible craftsmanship. The nu-eras have a very deep vee and if you look at them from the front it is easy to see why they ride so nice. Interestingly enough my friend also drove a 29 nu-era with a single screw before he bought his 32 and said it handled even better. The rigging on the boat for its time was brobably comparable to a DCB, very clean and well thought out. The engine compartments are not flow coated but look really cool. If you ever get a chance to ride in one or look at them closely you can see the difference compared to other boats of that erea. Chris formerly of Lavey Craft now works for Jake at Eliminator and has brought some great knowledge and insight into their operations. I own an older Eagle and the last time I was out there, I mentioned to Jake and Chris that they need to get another Eagle into the works. I think it will happen and my bet is it will have a lot of the same similarities as the Nu-eras, especially if Chris is still there and a part of it. Outstanding boats for their era!

Great points as usual UD and I think you packaged my thoughts better than I was able to. Laveycrafts are a lot of people’s 2nd boat, after they find out what that dislike with their first boat. They literally have raving fans and a great product.

Honestly I kinda put them in the same “group” if you will as Cobra and Essex. I’m not debating which one is better, but it’s that group of boat MFGs that make quality boats but they just aren’t the popular brands you see everywhere every weekend.
I have wondered past 4 years now why Essex isn't thought of as a first line custom boat choice. There is absolutely no reason for it IMO. Maybe because they came on scene in 1991 I think. Lavey Craft has that long running name thanks to Al Lavey who started Lavey Craft back in the early 50's....So why both names along with Cobra, another well made boat, not looked at like they should be?

My Lavey needs work and If this Sebring I still own were mostly cherry perfect it would bring me around $10-12k in the current market maybe (Merc Mag/Alpha). Its just not worth the money to make all the repairs, do gel work, and make extensive repairs to the Hensley Trailer to bring it up to snuff. Its why I bought the Essex Sterling however I'm just as guilty because I searched out everything but Essex at first. Slim Pickings in 2019.

Very happy with what we have currently. Bought at 625 hrs and now 870. When buffed and waxed looks nearly new. I have had various seat cushions recovered but the majority of the interior is original.

Someday I will again own another Lavey but this Essex will always be around.
