The wife and I made about two wonderful trips with the boat

Then the wifey blew up the motor. She made it very holy. I never taught her about the jack plate

After bringing it all the way home I looked at it again and there was a nice big hole in the block. I took it back to Parker until I could decide what to do.

Today I ordered a new 300XS and should have it back in the water by Memorial Day. I will try to post pics of the process

That thing should be a shredder with a 300XS

We were going to change the name to "Fickle Bitch" because it was such a pain to start. Now " Hot Mess" may be back in the name jar.
I'm looking forward to twice the gas milage and it starting every time

I just dropped the boat off at WOT, I'm really looking forward to this project. Im hoping the new digital instrument panel integrates with the dash really well. We probably going to remove the tach and speedometer and ace it there

I know there is one that I know of and it's fast. It's a little lighter lay up and was running low 90s stock

This just came in

Oh, and we are getting the smart craft. I didn't know what the hell it was but when I looked it up its bad ass. Now placing it is one of our challenges

Saw your boat yesterday. WOT has everything ready for the new motor. They do great work, so you will be very happy with the results.

Also can't believe how big old motor is. That thing is huge and almost bent the motor stand over.

Pretty much a bare hull at this point and the smart craft gauge replaces my tach and it matches my other gauges

That thing should be a rocket. I have been contemplating the same upgrade. If you don't mind sharing, what did the new motor cost? Feel free to PM me if you don't want it publicized.

It really doesn't matter how you slice it. Boats cost money. This should be good for 5-10 years, and trouble free.

Be sure to get some extra insurance for the motor;)

It cost me three years of breaking the bank and working my ass off with awesome people that want to do the same

Considering all the work you had done to the transom & what a cool boat it is - I think it's a great way to go :thumbsup. Al said years ago they had a modified 4.0L on your boat, think I remember him saying it ran in the teens. That boat will last a long time now.

I'm in the same spot, either ditch the boat or repower. But, being a cheap ass, I'm thinking a low hrs Promax or 300x. River is supposed to be fun, hoping your boat holds together takes allot of the fun out of it.

Congrats!

I ran into a couple of guys that were friends of the original owner. They told me a few good stories about there times on the boat. It was fun hearing the history. It was a hot rod at one point

Looks great. I have the smart craft monitors on my boat and love them. I use the water pressure and fuel consumption screens the most. It's very nice to know exactly how much you have burned.
