You guy's never come out of the water, good investment for the family, that's for sure. See you at the pirate, were still there. :)

Were only staying at the pirates a few times this year. Flag us down if you see us

That looks awesome...

The hoses on the starboard side are for the hydraulic steering. What are the ones on the port side for? Jackplate?

I would be three feet off the ground. This is damn near like getting a new boat all over again.
Looks very good, I hope you have a blast with it, and start doing so very soon.

Kap has a billet oil reservoir holder in his DW I believe. Can't remember if it was custom or something a supplier had.

But more importantly nice rigging WOT!!! And congrats DR your boat looks brand new!

So with a jack plate, do you actually raise the X while driving to increase speed? Then while coming on plane do you lower it, never been in a boat with one?

Friday we picked up the boat from Wide Open Throtle Marine. Kyle and Jim were great and we walked me through everything in detail. They really did a great job on everything. The boat came back in better condition then I gave it to them in. By the end of the weekend I noticed all the small items that they did. I was pleased.
Memorial weekend is a tuff weekend to break in a boat........... But we didn't I didn't want to wait any longer. Kyle warned me that the motor would consume more fuel and oil then normal during the break in period. I filled up the boat with 40 gallons of fuel and we were off. The break in period is 240 minutes . Mercury puts some time on the motor before shipping and WOT marine also ran a tank through the boat. I had 90 min of break in time when I got it. The smart craft keeps track of the time. I was to keep the RPMs between 4000 and 5500 in order for time to come off the break in clock. I was up early to get started but had to fix an AC in the keys before we got started. We were in the water by 9am and it was packed. 4000 RPM is roughly 50 MPH so this was gonna be tuff. We boated most of the day only stoping for several hours to avoid the zoo. By sun down the break in clock expired but I was out of day light. I woke up and was on the water by 6:45 on Sunday for more testing but there were still tons of people on the water. I went from Badnoches to the dam and back.

What a difference! I didn't even screw withy the jack plate, only trim. I got the boat easily up to 80ish mph with more room to go until I reached the rev limiter. I have to learn how to drive the boat all over again. The acceleration is incredible.

Thanks again WOT

You raise the jack plate bringing the drive out of the water water reducing drag. The XS has a low water pick up allowing the drive to be used higher out of the water.

I haven't even played with it yet so I have an idea but no experiance

Congrats on the upgrade!

Have Al give you a lesson on how to drive that thing, and use the jack plate and trim properly.

It will be a whole different animal once you have that seat time in it. Enjoy it. That boat is bad ass!

I was in Kidz zone.

It was a fairley dead weekend and we took them tubing. They loved it. Im not sure how people do it on a holiday weekend. With a slow weekend I was stressed.

We did the same thing early Saturday morning then called it a day as far as tubing and skiing were concerned. Too many reckless meatheads out there after 9am. Strangely enough, the water was beautiful around 6:30 Saturday night. Almost no one was on the water. Took a late night cruise with the kids (8:30 was late night to them :D ) down to the Keys and back. Moonlight was unreal. Almost didn't need the nav lights.
