I’m in the market for a pontoon. Hopefully something of decent quality with a 300. Please report what brands are there and if it’s worth going. I’ve been looking at Bennington, Avalon, Crest, Barletta, Berkshire in the 23-25ft range
new? Used?

You can get a real nice used toon from 80 to 100k. New it wont be top of the line of course. My Avalon has been trouble free.

Yeah actually came across some Avalons with a 350 on it for that price just a little older. Im hoping for the right one to come along used in AZ to save on taxes.

i was gelling in my first year as a gelcoater about 1999, and remember the LA show aftermath....they sold so many boats, i had a mini panic attack when seeing the wall in jeffs office where they posted the boats on order.........it was the whole wall, 45-50😲...no bullshit....B. slippery telling everyone, you are next

Late last night the wife decided that she was on the fence to make the trek out to CA for the family event. She would rather stay home and work around the house. So we will not be going to the boat show. Looks like the show was a little lite in the exhibitors. What is Up with all that concrete area? Just open without any booths set up?

I will say there wasn’t much to see. The luxe toon is a game changer that thing is so bad ass. The fold down side door the front entry. They really put thought into it. Cobra and shockwave brought some heat if you ask me. Eliminator Howard Barron brought nice stuff also. Just everything that’s continued to be done. Nothing new.

Sad turnout m. Sign of the times I suppose.
From what I heard a lot of company’s didn’t even hear about the show till 2 weeks prior? I think that explains a lot of the reason why some manufactures weren’t there. New boat pricing still blows my mind.

Oh I can guarantee it. In their defense resin has sky rocketed I am paying 40% more than I did in 2019 now.

Went yesterday to see the Luxe Toon. Boat is so badass and a complete game changer, absolutely loved it.

Got to see some folks I haven't seen in awhile like Mike at Howard. Got a nice rundown of the new 255 outboard bottom from Jake at Eliminator. Poked around the 28 Essex Deck for a minute and the new 400r 22 Shockwave. Both very nice boats.

Still not a fan of the Barron 290.

The new 28 Cobra with twin 450's is sick.

Bought one of those Site Shades and excited to use it on a variety of applications.

Any day looking at boats and drinking beers with @BUDMAN is a good day 👌

Well just got here myself. So we’ll see. I figure it’s a waste of time but I really didn’t have much else better to do other than a list of honey-dos so this is an improvement.

What is a site shade?

Here is the website to check it out. Got it for my front bow when we are hanging at the sandbar or anchored out. Also can use tailgating and off roading. Once we got home and opened it up, the thing is really well put together. My wife made a comment about how good the stitching was.

Went this Morning. Although it is just a shell of what it use to be from the Convention Center days, there were a few interesting boats. I liked the Luxe (talked to one of the guys for 20 minutes), a couple of the Robalos, the Eliminator 33 Speedster (twin 700s with number 6s) and the race boats, especially the Cole.

Advantage had a 40 (I think) with twin Teague 1000s and Imco drives and there was a ton of ski/surf and pontoon boats.

I talked to the guy at the Cobra stand and their 28 Venom with twin 450s seemed like a relative bargain at $380k. Fully capped with 100% recessed hardware. Not that I could afford it but, if I was in this market, I’d certainly take a closer look.

Just came back. Definitely smaller than previous years but still a good time and some nice boats. Decent deals on boat bling hot sauce, vests, etc. Wish Cheetah and DCB was there though.

26 Malibu wake tug was normally $346K but show price was like $268k and it had sold at the show.

Flabbergasted. We bought a 23 Wakesetter LSV in 2005 and it was like $80k new.

It’s all baller money now. That LUXE toon was crazy nice. Big ass party right around there.

Cheapest things we could find was Supras. Going for about $80k for like 21’ but very spartan. But less to break or electronics to deal with so probably a solid boat with no frills.

The used market is getting better. Maybe not all, but a some of the brands I’m following for the blue have lowered pricing.

Wonder if mfg will have to do the same in 6-9 months to keep selling new boats as new boat pricing is crazy.

I went today and I should have stayed home. A waste of my day could have got some things done around the house

In my opinion 2 best boats this year the cobra 28’ with 450s and the luxe. Well done to both builders.
Friends had a hand in both those builds. They both do excellent work!

That’s great news. Any idea what models?
The only two they sell. The FunDeck (which they said is still very popular) and the Speedster. If anything on the Speedsters its probably the 33X with Outboards.
