Probably Saturday or not at all. After looking into it, it’s only a three hut show now so I’m less excited about finding cool content besides the usual fishing and wakeboard stuff.

Maybe if I could buy a CA Boater ID card there I’d be more inclined.

That was a while back with crickets. Personally I think that the promoter does not want to show it because it is small and limited. But We are going to be around the corner from there so we are stopping by for a couple of hours. 👍

Try this link -- https://hallshows.com/bh-boat-show (scroll down). I have no idea how accurate or complete this list is but it is very limited. Three buildings -- don't know how many of you went to the SCMA Spring Boat Show about 15 years ago, but it had five buildings with additional displays outside. Looks like admission is $20 per adult. Guessing Fairplex parking will be at least $15 per car.

There are 7 performance boat manufacturers going to the show plus Luxe pontoons.

55 bucks for 2. I'm now 95:5 going.

Cancel, I'm not going. It will just piss me off. Boats I can't afford and $55 bucks to remind me

I remember LA convention center was epic for a number of year.

It’s kinda a bummer but i don’t blame the builders at all. They’ve had a hell of a run and I’d assume it’s not cheap to buy the space. Sounds like the molds and schedules are all full. I’m sure a few checks get written to the Kustom builders during the show but not solely due to the show. It’s more for the family toon/wake sport crowd.
I do wish they had more boat acc deals. Ropes, fenders, anchors, coolers, toys, etc.

Back in the early 2000s, the L.A. Boat Show at the L.A. Convention Center was one of the three largest indoor boat shows in the U.S - right at 400,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space. -- more than 20 performance boat manufacturers participating. It was also a nine day show (sometimes ten). My, how things have changed.

A lot the boat manufacturers didn't even know about the show until the beginning of last week. The promoter's didn't even bother to call manufacturers and if they would like to attend.

Shockwave, Essex , Barron , eliminator , Howard. Cobra is what I saw. Luxe was coming inside , and we are up in Eddie marine booth.

Needs a bigger location like the old days to put everyone together

Pontoons, wake boats, fish boats dominate first hall.

3 halls total.

Im not impressed, hoping for a good turn out and staying positive as you can with Biden.

The main hall, two others, the lobby area and also in the parking structure! You needed a couple days to see it all! Those shows were even busy while competing with supercross, laker games and the superbowl. Its never been the same since Morgan showed up. 🙃

I was so disappointed when I just missed all the shenanigans that day with RD. I was told I missed it by maybe an hour.

Exactly, I was thinking the same. I may go at noon before school is out since it would be tight in the evening

Sounds very familiar, coughcough-fredhallshow-coughcough . . . .

Just looked at the list . . . Bamboo Pillows & Bedding, House of Pistachios , The Jerky Hut, Leaf Filters, and Custom Spas Direct . 👌

Its probably a lot of money to spend to haul all your shit out there for a bunch of beer drinking guys walking around bullshitting all day, I would think for a custom builder a day at the beach with rides in various models to potential customers would be cheaper and more productive. I can see Bayliner or Yamaha, Mastercraft doing show just showing new 2023 models.

I have been doing home shows for over 20 years. The past 5 have been interesting. But the 2 years before covid and now are ridiculous. Early on the attendees were solid potential clients and booths of quality products in the building industries. I believe that savvy builder/owners are doing their homework on-line and shopping year round rather than waiting for the one week that a show is open. They are talking directly to the companies they are considering doing business with. This leaves the attendance numbers and quality down. People like myself reconsider where time is spent and pull out of the shows. Then the promoters start to fill the empty booths with anything that they can. The downward spiral continues until the plug is pulled.

I’m in the market for a pontoon. Hopefully something of decent quality with a 300. Please report what brands are there and if it’s worth going. I’ve been looking at Bennington, Avalon, Crest, Barletta, Berkshire in the 23-25ft range

Years ago 90s into 2000s Adrenaline spike just walking thru the front doors of Convention Center. There were boats in the lobby and lines at the turnstiles. First boat at entrance to main room “American Off Shore”. Start walking the ailes,Jim Cole sitting at a card table with his creation. Bob Teague always there talking to everyone. Incredible.

I woulda bought ya a beer lol
If I have a change of heart and can get some local interest to ride out I'll look for ya and take you up on that Dave. Thanks for the thought. I'm guessing you're kidding and won't be attending... long ass drive for a tiny show unless you're visiting out this way already.

I’d go over to Preston’s and pick up that single 400 he’s got.. that’s a nice toon at a nice price / brand new

What is the story for those of us that have no clue……

Part of that speech was that magazine would be about of biz within six months.. I missed it by a month it was 5. I also said she wouldn’t have a job in 3.. I think she made it the two? Either way. There was a couple other things as well.
