Went to Fry’s and Safeway yesterday looking for eggs. Neither store had an egg in sight!😎

“ Currently, numerous grocery stores have stopped selling eggs due to a widespread shortage, which has been primarily caused by a recent bird flu outbreak. The ongoing outbreak of the highly pathogenic bird flu has infected, and killed, millions of chickens that produce eggs on commercial farms.”

Our local meat market had them a couple dollars cheaper than the grocery stores. We have local farms that sell them as well. Maybe check the rural areas around you.

I sent a friend a message asking what he’s got. He has a dozen chickens and when they lay there is usually a surplus.😎

Costco in Cypress had plenty of eggs a couple of days ago. My wife said they are considerable cheaper than the grocery store.

The local grocery store here in Chino were about $9-10 for a dozen. Hottinger’s was $7-8 a dozen.
If you’re in Chino then you should be at Billy’s egg farm. I bought them just before Christmas and it was $62.50 for 100.

Unfortunately my chickens are molting right now.

Ours haven't been laying the past couple weeks, likely due to the weather.

Wife texted me this morning - I have a chicken that is egg outbound - I put her in a container in your bathroom to see if she can pass it....

My wife misses her backyard ducks and chickens, the Coyotes put an end to them.

Trader Joes has had eggs lately, check there?

Cypress was completely wiped out yesterday. Same with La Habra.

This is what happens when you let chickens out of their cages. They run around and get a bunch of diseases.

Just like kids nowadays. 😬

It didn't help that KCAL9 basically announced it to the planet that they were a viable source.

Good for them, I'm sure.

We are paying $22.00 for 5 dozen at Costco, we were paying $14.00 per dozen a few weeks ago. At Save Mart they are $8.99 per dozen. We live in Ripon in Nor Cal next to Modesto.

Up side is if your house burns down you still have an omelet.

LOL Big deal just stop eating them until the shortage is over, its not like beer or something.
I don’t buy or eat eggs much at all.
Wouldn’t even know about any shortage if I didn’t read it here.

There’s a lot of locals in Norco still selling them 5 or 6 bucks a dozen
Yup. Buddy of mine has been doing this for awhile now. Not sure how many he has that actually lay eggs, but for the time we are set and my money goes straight to the farmer instead of a large commercial chain. I have plenty of room for chickens, just didn't ever want to deal with them. That might change here in the near future.

River Buddy has a egg farm somewhere near Hemet. There specialty is green eggs. Hopefully all his chickens are healthy and he is tripling his income!

prior to christmas it was all of them. If I arrived after noon the gate would be closed with a sign stating....sold out.
I went there the Friday before Christmas and Billy came out and put the sold out sign about five cars behind mine. Just in time.

Plenty here on the shelf. Local prices are up a little bit. Usually $1.50 to $3.00 a dozen.

That place has grown tremendously over the last few years. It’s right off of Ramona expressway and Warren

They need 12+ hours of daylight, add a grow light in their coop on a timer to extend the day a few hours
