Went to Fry’s and Safeway yesterday looking for eggs. Neither store had an egg in sight!

I sent a friend a message asking what he’s got. He has a dozen chickens and when they lay there is usually a surplus.

We are paying $22.00 for 5 dozen at Costco, we were paying $14.00 per dozen a few weeks ago. At Save Mart they are $8.99 per dozen. We live in Ripon in Nor Cal next to Modesto.

Yup. Buddy of mine has been doing this for awhile now. Not sure how many he has that actually lay eggs, but for the time we are set and my money goes straight to the farmer instead of a large commercial chain. I have plenty of room for chickens, just didn't ever want to deal with them. That might change here in the near future.

I went there the Friday before Christmas and Billy came out and put the sold out sign about five cars behind mine. Just in time.

They need 12+ hours of daylight, add a grow light in their coop on a timer to extend the day a few hours

They have the light. Long chicken run as well. It’s just the molting aspect. We’ve been through this years before. I’ll take a look at what you’re saying though.
