Perhaps 🤷‍♂️ Personally, at least most days, I don't think so. 🤞

I've had many close friends over the years who were ardent prognosticators of a dismal future. Being around them for too long, was like spending a day in the RDP P&G section. ;)
They're all dead now, so they were right, they just got the causes wrong.

So for all our sakes, especially your own, since the odds of you living to see if are far greater than my own, I do hope you're wrong 😬
Well, that's kind of how someone chooses to look at things, the perspective I guess. I don't see it as being a dismal end. I see it as a dark time before prosperity. Like trudging east up the hillside, after traveling all night. Tired and worn. As you approach the ridgeline, you start to see the rays of dawn. As you crest, you're hit with the bright rays of the morning sun...and almost reborn, at least recharged, set to face the next hill.

I don’t see it as dismal.
I find it almost indescribably invigorating and exciting!

Zeppelin recorded a song about that!
“The battle of evermore”.

The words are perhaps more profound today than 50 years ago when it was recorded?

OK, got it, now I've got to get back to work trying to harness the earth's magnetic field to start my car. I think I'm close now, I was able to get this little needle to spin and stop facing north, while it was floating on the surface tension of a bowl of water. 😁;)

We use electromagnets to spin the starters on our cars. We have used the earth's magnetic field for navigation for centuries.
Yet noone has thought to use the existing energies to power much...
Silly, isn't it?
Too difficult to capitalize.

My beloved of 39 years has returned from her daily occupational therapy, AKA job.
I must retreat from this amazing world of illusion and what if's, and slip into the shower of reality and prepare myself for the night's entertainment.

Ya’ll argue over weather there is intelligent life forms out there besides us.

Hell we can’t even hold secure elections and solve traffic.

As you point out, underestimation of those who disagree may be harmful.

Every time I have lost money is directly due to underestimating the person on the other side of the table.

I understand the natural urge to assume those who disagree are “dumbasses” as some believe.

But I’ve learned that is a great way to lose a lot of money.

A gentleman I worked for was known in the old car world as "the Poorman"...it was also the plate on his 32 roadster. He'd done well over the years, yet still wore Walmart jeans and drove a pickup. His son drove a Mercedes and wore name brand everything...and judged every customer on their appearance.

I learned from that family to never base your opinions on people's appearance, nor how they carry themselves. Listen to all sides of the debate before choosing a side.

The father was the one who told me to try and pay off my home if I could. The son said borrow against it.
Son lives in an apartment now...his old man has since past on. No one to bail him out of poor decisions.

I’ve learned that the dumbest guy in the room, is the one that thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room.

Hubble Telescope Captures What Might Be the Prettiest Spiral Galaxy Ever
Meet NGC 1961, a pinup-worthy galaxy

Our own home Milky Way is a spiral. A new Hubble Space Telescope image of spiral galaxy NGC 1961 is a spiral that is far away at a distance of 180 million light-years in the constellation Camelopardalis, also known as the Giraffe.

Amazing!

What is life, outside our galaxy? Step back, and open a mirror on to its self. That is life outside our galaxy.

Really smart people work hard to build a team so that they are the “dumbest” in the room.

For they have the self confidence to understand that is how to beat the competition.
It didn't take very long for me to adopt that same principle for construction. It's not about being the best or knowing everything, it's about knowing who was best for the particular role that needed to be filled.

Who knows, its debatable till we all die. But they (astronomers, physicists) estimate that there is 180 to 300 hundred "million" galaxies in the universe. That's mind boggling to me. You would think "maybe", right.

And to add to this, quantum physics states there is not just one universe, but an infinite amount of multiverses!😳
Thats just mind blowing. I dig space and the possibilities.

You start digging into quantum theory and shit gets real weird.

Because electron positions are probabilities and can never be pinpointed…how about the theory that there’s only one electron in the entire universe to fuck with your brain…

That was actually the old number.

With the new camera put on the Hubble in 2017 they started mapping DEEEEEEP into space. Pointing it at “blank” areas or dark areas of the sky. When zoomed into these tiny areas of the universe they quickly realized there’s over two trillion. Galaxies in the known universe. Each galaxy has (based on our own Milky Way) potentially 100 billion stars (suns) in each. Each galaxy has a high potential of having some sort of perfect system to sustain life. That’s 100 billion chances times 2 trillion.

It’s estimated the universe is 13.6 billion years old. Life on earth Has only existed for 3.5 billion years. With all those potential inhabitable planets out there, there’s been Lots of time for various life to rise and fall and start over and advance beyond our comprehension through 13.6 billion years of evolution.

Pretty mind boggling.

We (mankind) have realistically only touched Earth, the moon and Mars. 3 unspectacular things, surrounding a relatively unspectacular star... There are rumblings of evidence of life being found on Mars. Tested 3 places out of TRILLIONS, and are finding evidence? I don't see how anyone can rationalize earth being the only harbinger of life.

Isn't it interesting and crazy! I dont believe in evolution though. But man space can sure make you stop and think when your out in the desert or middle of the lake late at night with no light to blur your vision. INCREDIBLE!

NASA's Webb Telescope Captures Sharpest 'Pillars of Creation' Portrait Ever

The chaos of space has never looked so spectacular in high definition.

I love searching out the obvious animal shapes in the pillars of creation.
They’ve always amazed me.
