Storm surge is expected to be ten feet.

Just started getting to them. Power has been out and winds are at 100MPH right now.

My friend got thru to Irish Kevins in Key West.

For those who are concerned. Just got off a land line with Cameron Briody from Irish Kevins. Everyone is safe and secure. Not a drop of water in the bar. They r good and in good spirits. Can't speak for the rest of the island but the Kevin's folk are fine. Cell service and power are still out. But land lines may be working. Please share with anyone concerned.

I was texting with Tracy (Warlock1) earlier. They were gonna ride it out, but decided to evacuate yesterday morning.

They are ok right now, but hope they have to house to go home to afterwards.

Here is a good read.I think its not gone but all 42 bridges have to be inspected and i think snake river has some damage.We will know a lot more by tomorrow..

I just saw this on a Cape Coral page:

"Our son is a very accomplished at analyzing weather as a nationally know storm chaser. He just texted this to us: "Cape Coral doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it could have been in Naples, and the storm is weakening rapidly. The Northeast quadrant, the strongest part of the storm missed Cape Coral to the east, the back end of the storm is much weaker but the storm surge is of course the primary threat there. You sound like you guys are high enough though. I'm really optimistic for your chances of weathering that storm. Could have been a lot worse."

I'm really Glad the peoples on here decided to play it safe. I hope no real damage occurred or will happen to the homes. Living here in the mid-West, I cringe when I see temps range 30 deg. in an hour or so. I know what that could entail. My Families life is worth so much more then everything I own. I wish I had a week of warnings when it happens, but I never get that luxury.
