Do t know if I'd ride this one out. Spoke to Johnny Tomlinson from TNT marine, he's riding it out. Phil Lipschutz from lipship cigarette is headed north. Buddy in coral gables is riding it out but definitely pulled his boats out of the water. I've never seen this before [emoji33] sloppy hoes closed and boarded up on a Friday afternoon!?

We're booked. We'll see. As long as the house we rented is still there, we're going. We flew in after Andrew or was it Katrina. The big one around 05. Place was destroyed but the races and poker run brings in roughly 5 to 8 million in revenue for the week so they hustled to clean it up. All of Duvall and the race / poker run area was all clean. You went down into the neighborhoods and it was still water lines 3' up the walls and appliances and furniture on the curbs.

AJ it's looking like you made a good choice! Latest models aren't good for the Cape Coral, Naples, Fort Myers area. Hoping for the best. The Keys are probably gonna be the worst, back to a cat 5 before it hits there :eek

So the boat is on the trailer and uncovered...make sure it doesn't get full of water!:)
Seriously, be safe my friend. We will be thinking of you guys and hoping for the best. Cheers

Thanks Mike, I hope you Father in Law is well. You got my number if there is anything I can do.

Hang in there Jason! Sounds like you've prepped pretty well. Every region of the country has its natural disasters, at least this one you have several days heads up to prep...

Thanks man!

You are living life and doing the best you can. No regrets Jason.

Take care, be as prepared as you can and keep the family close.

Cheers!

Thanks Tom! I'm now just trying to keep it cool one hour at a time.

Damn. We have never met but I have seen you around these sites for years. Stay safe, I was sorta hoping to NOT know anyone effected but you are a part of this social media world we all seem to love. Az will always take you back! Or coastal north san diego! No hurricanes, just breweries.
Keep us updated.

Why I love this place and people on it. I don't know if 460 will let me back in. I might have to appeal to Jordo.

Good Luck man.

Thanks Aaron. Good times, bad times, means a lot.

I'm no expert on weather maps and tracking, but to me, it seems like the hurricane moving towards Mexico, instead of early reporting that showed it will move North, affecting the entire Florida peninsula. I'd say, South peninsula will be drenched and Mexico will be devastated on top of the 8.1 earthquake there. The media is thriving on doom and gloom. Hopefully it will be over soon and with less impact on heavily populated areas.

Everyone please say a prayer or two for Jay. He hadn't been home in a good long while, and had to go home to pack up. He should be on the road out real soon.

I'm a little worried about him getting out. Traffic going north is just nuts. :(
He said he's riding it out on Facebook. Prayers to everyone staying behind

NASCAR tracks in Atlanta and Talladega are open to RV's but it looks like Irma may be in stage 1 by the time it hits there and that won't go well.

There are few things other than family health crisis stuff that can leave you feeling as helpless as having to walk away from your home not knowing if it will be there when you come back. We've been through it twice, both wildfire related. The second time I was on duty and unable to go help Cindy load the heirlooms and get out. I was part of the IC team, and watched the maps and listened to the Air Attack as the fire literally moved through my property.

I remember driving up my driveway in the wee hours of the morning in a marked unit with the spotlights on and heaving a sigh of relief when the house appeared out of the smokey gloom. Homes within 5-700 yards...neighbors...didn't fare so well.
As we go through the next few days all of you living through this now...AJ, 941, all the rest of you...you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please stay safe.

I'll agree with that. Pretty shitty feeling leaving the house the other morning. Looks like my house will be ok now that it's shifted west, but damn I feel for the guys on the west coast.

When ours burned in an 07' wildfire we'd tried to get back in. By then LEO had blocked it off, couldn't see up the hill due to the smoke so drove 30 minutes back to my bro-in-laws. Got there turned on the TV, a camera crew from Arizona was shooting from across the canyon, in horror we watched it burn on live TV. We'd only gotten out with little more than our clothes we were wearing. Last time one even got close, we packed up anything important and drove to Havasu for four days until it was out and we knew we'd have a home to return to. If it goes it goes, but we don't want to be anywhere around here if it does, way way to stressful.

For the past several months I've been checking listings in Cape Coral and Marcos Island, considering one big move anticipating my wife joining me in retirement, Hmmmmmm, I dunno :eek

Good luck and prayers guys, hoping none of you Florida crew suffer any loses :thumbsup

...in the words of Ron White...."It's not that the wind is blowin, it's WHAT the wind is blowing."

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know how that Honda was still sitting there. Imagine a stop sign flying thru that and hitting you...

Judging by the height of pilings, the water is pretty shallow there. When the ocean returns, the surge will cover that pier for a while;). Waiting for new video of the aftermath.

That shit is spooky, it reminds me of what happened right before that big ass tidal wave / surge a few years ago.
I asked Jay about it and he said it happens every time therr is a Big storm.

Right now the ocean is moving out of Naples, but once the wind reverses, when the eye passes by, they are predicting a Fifteen foot storm surge as the wind pushes the ocean back in.

Yikes!!!
