Certainly not immoral or unethical so long are you're not committing fraud to accomplish either.

And now we’ve come full circle. 😂 setting up a legal business and using it as a purchasing vehicle is not fraud.

Which is what was stated in the beginning.

To cheat or not to cheat? It is amazing how the definition swings in the breeze.

It's funny the various people with a boot on our throats seem to justify cheating without a second thought.

Heads up, LLC and S-Corp owners.

Make sure you look at the Corporate Transparency Act of 2024.
https://www.schwab.com/learn/story/corporate-transparency-act-and-your-small-business

The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), which goes into effect on January 1, 2024, requires otherwise unregulated companies to report information about "beneficial owners"—those who own at least 25% of or exercise substantial control over the reporting company—to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). Failure to comply could result in fines of up to $10,000 and imprisonment for up to two years.

Sure if you want to skip over where you advocated fabricating backstories and lying to law enforcement or justifying fraud so long as it was cost effective relative to the cost of punishment. Also if I recall, there's no moral difference between ignorance of a law, vs willfully breaking it.

I probably just misunderstood your outlaw persona. 🤔

Law: a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority:

What happens when you don't recognize the controlling authority? The interesting thing is the underbelly of society that lives in the counter-culture and doesn't recognize the controlling authority, whether it is speeding, paying taxes, standing in line, or passing an emissions inspection. We seem to tolerate various degrees of insubordination based on our own acceptance of the ruling authority.

I recognize the rules of RDP in exchange for the luxury of participating in this community; in other social situations, I may not recognize the authority because it does not provide value. The libertarian (more likely Anarchist) in me feels comfortable with the absence of many services provided by a government, and I tend to stay away from places that don't provide reasonable value in exchange for following that society's rules.

You want to turn this into another ID debate? 😂.

I said have your business, registration, and story in order. Don’t incriminate yourself.

You aren’t sworn into court on the side of the road. You don’t have to admit to the cop you did a line of blow at a party last week, and that you were actually doing 150 before he pulled you over for doing 90.

How many nefarious rapscallions here have AZ registered boats stored in California to avoid the luxury tax… likely more than half.

Maybe they are just ignorant of the law. 🤣

No, oh, sorry for the misunderstanding --- so have your fraudulent justification papers in order --- that changes everything. 🤣
There wouldn't be half as many nefarious rapscallions in those Havasu garages if they hadn't attended your online RDP classes.

Speaking of ID's --- no let's not, but speaking of AZ registrations and OHVs renewal --- damn, had to do it online yesterday and imagine my wonderful surprise at discovering it was a one stop shopping --- when I renewed the registration, it automatically renewed my OHV --- Yahooo !!!!!!!!

Vehicle Title and Registration

Vehicle Title and Registration

When you buy a vehicle, Arizona law requires that you apply for a titlewithin 15 days of purchase and take the application to an MVD Office or Authorized Third Party provider to complete the process. Electronic title transfer is available.
Most vehicles may be registered for one, two, or five years, depending on emissions requirements. Permanent registration may be available for some trailers.
If your vehicle was registered in another state and you want to operate it in Arizona, you must register it as soon as you become an Arizona resident.

update:

I sent in a copy of my storage lease agreement and an explanation of the boat being stored in AZ. I received this email last night.

Hello

We have received the documents you have submitted. We have deactivated the vessel assessment for 2024. Please update the vessel situs address with the California DMV to avoid future Riverside County vessel assessments.

Thank You

Now I just have to get the situs address change done and go from there.

Glad that it worked out.
Took forever for the DMV to update my storage location.

Curious as to what incentives there is for some douchbag neighbor to report you to that states Motor Vehicle registration facility about having an out of state vehicle. You would have to be an extreme Gladys to fuck over your neighbor like that.

When the California tax board and ruling party start having morals, then you can get on your moral high horse. Until then, I only have standards, no morals.

Who did you email to receive that response? County assessor or DMV?

Same incentive someone has to yell at you for not wearing a mask 3 years ago. Its a stroke of the ego to have power over someone, and the State loves to give power to the Karens.

I sent the email to the county assessor clerk. I included my lease agreement for the storage unit. I received the email from:
County of Riverside
Assessor/Recorder/Clerk

Now I have to do the change of address through the DMV. I tried to do that online this morning, but I got an error message from the site. I will try again before going to the DMV in person.

On your next boat renewal, fill out form and mail it in.
FYI - if you change the address with DMV incorrectly, you will no longer be able to register the boat in CA.
DMV only maintains permenant storage address and states if located out of CA, you are no longer allowed to register the boat in CA.
