This morning (Tuesday) my mother-in-law is undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous mass in one of her lungs. It's not large (2.2 cm), and there's no indication it has metastisized, but obviously it's a frightening situation. She's 83, and in reasonably good health.
I'll post later when we know what the surgeon found and a prognosis if one is given.
