That goes both ways. One of my staff saw me move and decided she wanted to move to TN. She had some family there. I think she lasted all of 2 months before she canceled her home build and scheduled the movers. She probably lost ~$20-$30k on moves and her earnest money. Maybe more. She also sold her home she’d been in for 20 years and with the rising interest rates and lost money could’t get something like it back.

I’m SOOOOO over the May grey and June gloom. Haven’t seen the sun for an extended period on the beach since November!!

I think with all the rain we had this season it creates more foggy weather for spring until things really warm up and burn off mid to late summer. Our best weather in so ca is fall. 80 degree days on the beach in October and November routinely. Not to mention the water lays down in the fall too.

I’ve lived in the beach in so cal my whole life. The saying “may grey and June gloom” is a real thing but it comes in waves. I’ve seen summers fogged in for the whole season and I’ve seen spring through November with most days sunny in the high 70’s basically all year. Weather is weather. It changes and is different around these parts. A lot of people like the over cast. I’m like you, I like the sun. Usually you can go inland just a couple miles and find the sun but this stuff this year is socked waaaaay inland. All the way through the valley and simi etc.

Like I said, I really think the the fig is tied to the rain. The drier years we get less fog. The setter years we get more. The rain gets the ground saturated, then the sun (even through the fog) heats the ground and then you hit heat rising that’s met with the cool ocean air. Boom! fog. It’s always been worse in the Ventura county Basen (mountains to the beach, because of all the agriculture land and the mountain range that creates a bowl. Of course the fog has significantly decreased over the years part to do with drier weather part to do with so much building.

It’s a theory.

A dreadful day this week on a local Socal lake. Water was clean (probably from fresh rain this spring) and no diapers or homeless people and did I mention the great weather? 83 degrees!
