This is pretty cool. Love seeing their YouTube channel. With new 500r engines it should fly.

2million dollar boat with four harbor freight ratchet straps securing the aux fuel tanks. Brilliant.

This guy is one of the founders of the RipSaw tracked vehicle. Pretty competent engineering type, I'm hoping he has a better solution for keeping those tanks from bouncing around while hammering down the coast.

I've watched a lot of their videos on youtube, pretty good content and they're definitely living life to the fullest. I hope they break the record!

Amazing...

Love the black lowers... thinking without issue...17-18hrs is more realistic... can't imagine averaging 100mph in open seas for that length of time....there will be a lot of nuts and bolts needing a home at the end of that ride...

I like it. But, might Howard Arneson have made it to Miami for a late lunch?

Probably average around 80 gph for the pair.

It really depends on the ocean conditions and how hard you can run

Says “1250 miles” so the record averaged about 65mph

2 straight lines is ~1100 miles

When I travel long distances I’ll drive 73-78 mostly and with fuel stops and traffic I get 55-60 mph avg over time.

They can do it if they don’t break👍

I am pretty sure he has already upgraded to 500s as of a few weeks ago now.

I almost posted this too……

This should be fun. I think the current record is just over 19 hours.

Man is this gonna be great to follow. I have a childhood friend in VA who always tries to get me to join him on his 38' sail boat from Annapolis to Bahamas. I always chicken out cause he prefers to take outter waters over the Intercoastal like these two are doing. Well, he ran into rough seas off Hatteras the final time and lost power at night and had to get rescued by Coast Guard helicopter. Sank the boat.... The waters these two are attempting can get gnarly fast so hoping the weather Gods are in their favor. Gonna be fun!

I would think mercury would want to get behind this as a sponsor, would be great PR for them especially since all the heavy hitters seems to switching to outboards lately
Yup, I watched the couples YouTube on 500R unvail party and kinda looks like Mercury is onboard at some level or who knows maybe they'll wait to see if couple safely makes trip. Fact that couple has fresh 500s on MTI makes me wonder if gifted. Good for them.... as an enfluencer thats the model.

I use to follow them for a while on youtube, I dunno why sometimes that guy irks me a bit, lol......maybe its the theatrics of their channel. Or Im plain jealous! LOL...but I will have to keep an eye again on this.

I agree, that fuel tank behind my head launching over blue water seas? No way.

His chick has a nice pooper, and he shows it off for everyone, so there is that positive!;)

They won’t be able to make this attempt on the Intracoastal. There are too many no wake and slow speed zones. This attempt has to be done on the outside.

Even though they have added extra fuel bladders, they will still need to refuel. This can be time consuming.

I hope I am wrong, but I doubt they will set a new record. There are just too many variables that can impede or end the attempt. That doesn’t mean that I am not rooting for them. I wish them the best. My reservations come from experience. There’s a lot of stuff that can go wrong, Weather being at the top of the list.

I went through some of their posts and frankly it appears they're just down for an attempt and don't truly expect to finish... [Smartly have a shadow truck] but like you I'll cheer em on.

I bet the tanks rupture and if the shitty ratchet straps aren’t replaced with something better they come loose as well.

Yeah those straps look to be the basic HD ones. The one on left the strap is sitting on the ridge of the tank and will slip at some point letting slack in it. One would think they would have a better game plane for those tanks security, I know I would.
I’m sure that was for a photo and mock up I’m sure it was strapped differently or nicer straps lol.

Im pretty sure this is all for youtube views and a publicity stunt of sorts. That guy loves attention.

Im pretty sure they know they will not come close to finishing.

I honestly don’t think it’s about attention by any means. The dude loves the sport. Normally I’d agree with a statement like that but I’ve watched every video he has about boating on his YouTube over the last 3 months or so when I found them.
