Most recent bill at the house was $382. Same month last year was $276. My wife is home full time with the baby now so the a/c went from 80 to 78. After that bill, it's back at 80. Dont even know how much that difference affects the bill 🤷‍♂️

There was a post on ring last night about this, everyone is saying it doubled. Ours is normal-ish, it's up about 15%

Shop is $2500 and our projected bill for home this month is $213 house set at 75 and 72 at night. Solar will equal this out soon.

Average is $275. But that is 75-100 more than 2 years ago.
SDG&E keeps sending me comps saying my usage is higher than neighbors. I did the math, my usage is the same as 4 years ago. But, I did not do solar and only 30% of homes have it in my area.

Yeah. I was up over 50% from my comparable bill last year. And last year was a lot. This house was rebuilt even years ago to everything energy efficient. Guess it didn’t matter.

Fucking traitor to the country!!!!
Yes, but the surprising thing is he didn’t lie about that. Of course, he didn’t mention whose pockets those increases would go into either, so there’s that.

Everyone talking about how their electric car is so cheap to operate, Blah Blah Blah

I've said for three years...

Just wait till electricity is the same price as gas. It's coming

They did it to us with diesel it was .59 a gallon??
Got us all hooked and jacked the price. Electricity is the same game.

Just out of curiosity, where is this? I keep my house at 80° and had my highest bill ever this month, $456 in Havasu. It has been a little bit warm the last month or so.🤣

Some of my Havasu, neighbors with solar are paying that much per month🤣
I have solar too, so I only pay at the end of the year. Soon as it cools down, and no ac running will be more net generating and remove what I owe throughout the year.

In 6.5 years never had a bill and had 300-500 in credits. Those credits are coming down, but I have also kept my house cooler in the summer over the years. I would rather have a 0 at the end, nothing owed nothing credited.

They will get their pound of flesh some how , you can bet on that 🖕 We have had solar now for a couple of years so our "build up" of power credits I would have thought to be suffcient haha.
Last months bill from FU Unisource was $145, not to bad you say but then our bill for the solar system is $165 @ mo!!!!!! So total cost was over $300 for 2 of us in a 1700 sq ft house, in Havasu , thermo set at 75'. Only caveat was the temps have been high for quite a while
Like I said they will get their pound of flesh one way of the other, motha fukers

It’s a joke alright with Unisource in Havasu. They indicated with the increase the average house would only go up about $14.00 a month. Obviously not the case. There is a petition going around to sign. Doubt it will help anything. At the library next Tuesday from 3p-6p.

We have solar, under NEM 2, live in CA and have So Cal Edison. About 13 months ago we went online with 27 panels on the house roof. We have a pool/spa and a 3000 sq ft one story house. Our average bill each month is $15, with the “True Up” bill for the entire year being due in 3 weeks. That bill is $160 for the year.

I was totally skeptical when I signed up for the solar system, but two friends just had it installed and talked me into it. So glad they did.

In all fairness I need to add in the $178 per month solar payment. It’s still way less than we were paying before we got the solar. Also, we’re not affected by increased SCE rates. I hear all the bullshit about Newsome lowering the rates, yea that’s all bullshit. Have electricity rates ever gone down? Nope, only up.

when asking friends that have solar and talk about no bill or little bill. But never mention what the solar payment is.

I know this may be different than full time residents in the desert, But we have a 2200' 1980 Mobile home, in Topock, So not very energy Efficient.

Through Mohave Electric on their level pay program we pay $136 a month year round, the Thermostat is set at 80* 24/7 through the summer.

We will see what the adjustment is at the end of the year and what my new monthly will be, But at that rate I can't see solar being any cheaper.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Didn’t realize you had solar. I’ve kind of been thinking about doing the solar deal, but I have too many questions that nobody seems to be able to answer. Maybe I just asked stupid questions.🤣

Our July bill was $275, that's the highest ever, but right in line with what I expected with the sur charge and the 14% increase, my question is how many people have TOU plans, we don't, and can't imagine trying to navigate around using power 3-7 PM in these continual heat waves. I just wonder if these TOU plans aren't causing some of problems with excessive bills.

I got solar when my bill averaged $140 a month 6.5 years ago. I had to pay someone for power and didn’t want to give my money to the power company anymore. Over the years the price per kw has gone up and so has our demand.

Paid off the solar 4 years ago.

It hasn't. Same as last year. Sorry, not sorry. It's your weather tax. You know that. As long as you're willing to keep paying, they will continue to charge more. Feel free to vent, just know it's not this way in other areas of the country.

The bill I just received is $107. It ranges between $90-$200 depending on the season. 2400 sq/ft single-story house. We are 100% hydroelectric up here. 8 cents a kWh under 1000, and 9 cents over 1000 + $20 basic charge.

edit: I looked up the rates in Reno to compare to what we are paying up here. They are 11 cents a kWh. Not too bad, IMO, for the amount of people served. Basic charge of $16.50.

I think in one of my “warning letters” 🤣 they said this June or July I don’t remember, which was on average 14° warmer than last year.

Word on the street is…

Is we do not expect a favorable rate case this go around. We have a massive amount of work to do.

2028 Olympics and the 2030 no new ICE vehicle BS.

Things are getting interesting to say the least.

Oh my bill is over $600 after the 25% discount.

Duh..

Yes thats sarcasm.

TOU is 💯 % designed to make the rate payer shift their energy use. To delay the need to build more true base load generation.

Because CPUC is taking directives from the Gov of Ca and try to meet green goals, regardless of the cost of the rate payer.

Moved to NH a year and a half ago. Haven’t had an electric bill over 250 on average. Last three months were less than 200.
A little more in the winter though.

Someone’s gotta pay these utility workers pensions and benefits!

Last month was 555. Same period last year was 387. It claims my usage was up 30% but I don’t see how that’s possible. All the same things running as before.

Same here lol. My last bill was $360 for a 2200sqf single story with a 2 year old AC, thermostat stays at 75.

My neighbor’s bill was $550 same house, no care plan, and older AC. His thermostat is at 83 and he has a mini bedroom AC he uses at night.

The difference is wild…

My current bill in AZ is projected to be $255, 1900sqf one story, no idea on AC age.

I got solar a year ago and haven’t had a bill since. Best decision I made. We were paying 500 to 600 a month from may to September. The rest of the year bill average was 200. Palomar did 36 panels on my house that I pay 200 a month on.

16 panels installed April 2023, bought the system outright so no payment. 2700sqft single story no pool with just me and the wife. 2 AC units, bedrooms and living space. Living space is 74° during the day and off at night. Bedrooms are 67° at night and off during the day.

Ended last year with $700+ credit. We’re SCE on NEM2.0. Summer bills before solar were in the $300 range while also being more conservative with the AC, but that was 2 years ago before all the rate hikes.

System was 20k, and with the constant rate hikes that I don’t have to worry about, it should pay for itself in 5 or so years.

But wait. I thought Gavin Newsom secured millions of dollars from the federal government to lower Californian's energy bills.
