So long as you feel good with what you are doing, don't ever doubt it.

I hardly saw my kids the first three years, Leave at 4AM, come home at 8PM, eat dinner take a quick nap and back at work til 4AM building the biz. Worked every weekend and holidays, too.

Pretty sure that's why my heart is all fucked up.:skull

Keep working your tail off dude.
I used to complain sometimes about having so much work and not enough time to do it. I only wish I had that problem today. If there's a dollar to make, make it!!

I take Fridays off during the summer so about 30-35 hours during summer. 40 hours normally. During tax season 70-80 hours a week.

Including working through lunch, answering calls outside of working hours, oncall every other week, and managing my retirement plan, about 85 hours a week average.

On various jobs from 6:30-6:00 then hit the computer for bids and contracts till 10:00-11:00 at night. It's hard when the kids say "dad when are you going to play with us"

I here ya there. When I was still on the FD I'd work my normal shifts plus an overtime or two per month. I also trained dogs on the side for another 30-40 hours a week. Made some good $$$ but my family suffered.

Don't know if you're a country music guy, but, a song hit home with me during that time. Billy Ray Cyrus of all guys, sang the song............damn, did I just say that? :D

It's called "busy man". Check it out. Might even bring a tear to your eye.

Sound advise right there, so true. The owner of the boat I work on is out there as much as I am, the man has bank.

I bust on Scott all the time asking why dont you kick back and enjoy the spoils.

His answer is clear, it can be shut off at any time.

I enjoy working with driven people.

My full time job is considered 56 hour work week, however, I work really hard so that my wife can be a stay at home mom with our 2 girls so I am north of 85-90 a week. I have never been afraid of work or surviving but I hope that it can be reduced in the very near future. :grumble:

20-40 for family grinding biz,

"Remember, there's no fun like work"

If you own your own biz, you better enjoy it, all I can say....

Lucky for me I can keep my schedule at 40-50 for now for the most part. There is potential to work a hell of lot more hours but I'd rather spend it at home with the family.

20 - 30 :D

Could work harder / make more, but the abiity to spend so much time with my little guy is awesome. If you count dad duties much more, my wife works out of town 2-3 days a week, so I'm fulltime dad during those days.

I "work" just a few hours a week. But my phone and mind is on "work" 24/7. I run two businesses and about to start a third. I love what I do, so just a small amount I consider "work".

We are all a hard working group of boaters. :thumbsup
My dad instilled in me to never turn down a small job because they can turn into a big one down the road.
I am very thankful I am busy right now for sure.
I would say I spend 10-15 hours a week just to try and collect money, 15-20 on bidding and 30-40 on supervising jobs.

Some days we crank for 10-15 hours and other days home by noon, all in all, we work when the work is here, ultimately about 45-55 a week......

50-ish minimum, 5 days a week.
Sometimes 80+, 7 days a week.

I feel really bad for guys who travel a lot for work.
Even when the workday is over, you're still not at home.

40 hours. Only been at the job a few months, and boss said there is no reason yet for me to be there any later than necessary. :thumbsup

I'm guaranteed my base salary plus time and a half for overtime, so there's no reason for me to be training on overtime.

I get paid for 40... but I am in the office by 0545 each day and leave at 1530, lunch at the desk, Monday to Friday. That's normal. If I have to cover a shift I can easily work 60-70 hours. A couple of times a year I will end up working 1.5 - 2 calender weeks straight.

For the first time in 8 years, I'm taking a two week vacation.

Generally 55-60 hours per week.

My wife stays at home with the kids, and my pay largely depends on me answering the phone. Combined with being in the construction industry I'm grateful each time the phone rings.

When its good its real good... but when its bad its real bad.

40 hours with a one hour commute to work and up to 90 minute commute home. The good news is making over double what I did at my last gig.

This is a hard working bunch.
I was an overtime whore in my day, too.
Especially when working the task force.
I know the reasons you are doing it, guys...and they are all valid.
But remember..you don't get any of those hours back on the other end...no guarantee of it. So be wise about getting some time for life in there, too.
