US Manufacturing sinks into a recession.

Yahoo really had to work hard baking this pretzel. Reading their story makes it clear that it's time to panic.

"Manufacturing is enduring a mild recession, but it probably won't deepen much further," Ian Shepherdson of Pantheon Macroeconomics said in an analysis.

Manufacturing jumped 0.4 percent compared to May, while total industrial production showed no change, according to the Federal Reserve report, confounding economists' expectations for a 0.2 percent gain.

The retreat comes even as American consumers are sustaining their appetite for spending, pushing retail sales higher for the fourth straight month, as shoppers in June took home more new autos and furniture and dined out more frequently.

Along with higher manufacturing, mining output rose 0.2 percent, while petroleum and coal jumped 2.5 percent. Mining surged 8.9 percent in the latest quarter, its 11th consecutive quarterly increase.

That's some real doomsday stuff you found. Good job.

Meanwhile, in the real world outside of media pundits and their pronouncements meant to throw mud on Trump, on Monday US stock exchanges closed at a new record highs.

Stocks once again closed at a fresh all-time high, surpassing the records they set on Friday, as earnings season kicks off and investors digest economic data from China.

The Dow (INDU) rose 0.1%, or 27 points to a new record of 27,359 points. The Nasdaq Composite (COMP) climbed 0.2% for a new all-time high of 8,258 points.

The S&P 500 (SPX) finished Monday little changed but nonetheless in positive territory, surpassing its last record by just about half a point. The S&P ended at 3,014 points.

All indexes also closed at all-time highs on Friday, finishing a week with a total of six records combined.

Earnings season will kick off in full swing this week. As usual, big banks go first and Citigroup (C) was leading the pack on Monday. The bank beat earnings estimates. Its shares recovered from earlier losses but are still down 0.1%, according to Refinitiv. JPMorgan (JPM), Goldman Sachs (GOLDMAN SACHS) and Wells Fargo (WFC) are due to report on Tuesday.

Investors are also digesting Chinese GDP data -- which didn't impact stocks as much as perhaps expected, even though growth hit a 27-year low.

The health of China's economy has repercussions for global growth and is closely watched by investors. Nevertheless, traders shrugged the data point off.

This can't be true he hates people of color and women but wait he has more working for him than O did in his administration imagine if the media actually covered the news and the facts!! I think if that tweet was true trump would've brought it up when talking to the press today. I go by this general rule anything that cnn,msn,abc,cbs,nbc etc. reports is the exact opposite of the truth have a nice day!!
