Hey 2FORCEFULL, it even came with a nice triple axle trailer. :D

By pure luck and chance stumbled upon this 21' Brummett and bought it with a buddy as a project, one of those deals that just couldn't be passed up. Glass tanks are leaking, so converting to a single aluminum belly tank. Gutting the thing this weekend. Everything is coming out and getting Redone, all hardware, new seats, controls, everything. Should make a bitchin little river cruiser/skier.

I like it:thumbup:

I need to figure out a new bow stand for my 20'. The winch and stand on the trailer are currently not working right. The boat slides back and does not sit on the carpet pad. I was thinking about just welding a nice bar on it. This looks pretty rad though.

Nice job Racey, actually one of my favorite 21's. I watched him build this one before he did mine. Really considered the outboard for mine at one point.

We did several trips with Steve at Mead.

With the new props available these days that thing will be awesome. That torque-shift prop he had way back was a bit of work.

Congrats!!:thumbsup:thumbsup

Evinrude?

3.6L V8, supposedly the motor is all good, he just stopped running the boat when they found that the tanks were leaking from the ethanol attacking the resin. Kids are all in to wakeboarding so they bought a rollbar boat and this has been sitting. I'm going to partially open it up and inspect it, go through the carbs, do a compression check, etc. Apart from dropping big coin on a 300xs it's pretty hard to find something with the torque of the old V8s to push a heavy boat like this thing.

I happen to be very good friends with the Evinrude Gurus the Millers at All Seasons marine ;) Not too worried about motor issues currently, they came and checked it out, told me i'd be all good :thumbsup

Maybe talk to Carson and FlyingColors, his tanks leaked in the outdrive boat and were able to be repaired. Just run AV when done. I only run AV, even with stock motor, no problems, yet. knock on wood.

That's pretty bad ass Racey! Gotta admit the bow stand isn't to my taste but its definitely custom!

Maybe now you will come down to Parker / Havi and visit?

I don't really want to hassle with them and then have the risk of leaking all over, being that it's an outboard it's the perfect candidate to just put a center tank in, and then clean all the deck hardware off and put the fuel fill in the back, fairly easy fix, just abandon the side tanks, probably put some access holes into them just to inspect the inside and then seal em back up as they make nice floors, and now i can through bolt seats to them.

Not for sale. :p

BTW Steve, we all know you're a glutton for punishment, of course you'd rather take an ass whoopin than deal with buyers or sellers again :D

Great score, is that one of the trailers with the bent channell? Like the color layout. Kind of scary seeing a big ass motor like that hangin off the back. If Carson built it can handle it but gess how much does that thing weigh sitin up there.

Almost Gutted, Had to take a torch to the cav plate mounts, the marine tex was so strong it burst my Snap-on allen socket, usually they just twist.

Also the boat sits so low on the trailer that if you back it off the fin will hit the cross member, as you can see from the bent fin. I may raise the bunks up, or maybe not and just be careful loading and unloading it. We'll see.

Just a couple more little parts to break free and she's naked.

Couple quick questions. Are they schiada hulls laid up by schiada for Carson? Are there any hull differences? What years were they made? Thanks

No they are a completey different boat, they only look similar in the same way that spectras, cambells, and other boats from that era have a similar deck "look". Carson designed the boat from scratch, it was never splashed off anything as a starting point, and it is built from a 3 piece mold, a bolt together hull mold, and then the deck mold. the seam where the deck joins the hull that would normally be around the rub rail line on nearly all other boats is actually up on the deck at the body line. The hull mold has a top and bottom half that bolt together, so the rub rail area of the lamination is continuous to the hull, it makes for a very strong boat.

Thanks for the info. I looked at it closer and they definitely have differences. Good luck with the boat.

Any news on this? Would love to see this boat in person.

Boat is getting some gel coat and fiberglass love down in Havasu, filling all the holes (Dash, Gas Caps, Gas Vents, Bimini, etc), flipping and extending the strakes all the way to the back, minor bottom straightening/speedcoat (easier than re-gelling the bottom), removing the center floor and center stub bulkheads in anticipation of putting a center belly fuel tank in it.

The glass guy said he could save the colors, so it will be the same colors more or less, Definitely the exact same lines, nothing matches Carson's attention to detail when he was taping those molds, they are sacrosanct. Re-gelling all the white on the deck, it has some shrinkage/cracking from sitting out in the heat for so long, and the wood in the center of the deck the seam is showing through right down the middle, so it's getting some body work.

Steve is his name, not sure what his business is called? but the guy does excellent work, A family friend of mine bought Jimmy Louis's old Mandella raceboat and he re-gelled and glassed the whole thing, inside and out, came out amazing.

If you are looking for Glass and Gel work his number is 928-566-9842

Barry if you know his business name post it up

Please post the outcome. I have lots of gel work to be done and do not want to loose any of Carson's detail.

I'm going to start a teardown after this summer for a complete restoration. Everything on my boat is original except for the interior that was last done in 1996.

My boat is not at the same place as Carson's and Lynch's, they are using Scott Kornowski, who does absolutely beautiful work also, really second to none. Scott is very busy and it worked out better for me to leave it with Steve, He had room to keep the boat over the course of a few months while he works on it in between daily repairs, I am in no major hurry and he worked a good deal with me to do it with no hard set deadlines.

Cool,, I was pretty sure you are sharp enough not to put "Steve" if you meant "Scott".

I am also sure you know what you are doing with your choice as well, and will end up with a one of a kind piece.

John,

I spoke with Carson last year and he mentioned Scott. Hopefully sooner than later we can catch up.
