So a war of attrition is what you sort of see as happening.
Yamamotos famous quotes were from 80 years ago.
We didn’t even know the Japanese were here until the planes came into view.
In a strictly manned invasion or rising of embedded cells numbers would MAYBE play a pert for a while.
I think there is an overwhelming naivety about what an invading force might look like though.
A neighborhood of 300 overweight smokers with their AR15’s in Havasu, with a fractured state of organization at best, would not stand a chance against A multi pronged attack from even a couple dozen trained teenage combatants who have been fighting since age 10. It isn’t like they will be walking down the street for target practice.
100 of those 300 average joes would run away to guard their ammo and gold.
remember, these are just my opinions, I have no more assumptions of being “right” than anyone else here.
Why would any combatant waste time taking over Havasu?

There is more 500,000 more gun owners in Arizona than the largest army in the world. Plus we have one of, if not the strongest military in the world. Beyond random terrorist attacks I don’t think a hostile takeover of any major city in the US would work.

They wouldn’t come in invading ww2 style. They need to take out communications and our grids. Right there that caused chaos.

Most wouldn’t know what to do without looking on their phone or can’t call anyone to gather up a group. Heck look at city streets when power goes out too.

“Most” don’t need to know what to do. Between our own military and a tiny fraction of the 86 million gun owners in the US, it would a be a suicide mission for any invader. I’m not saying they wouldn’t try, but they wouldn’t succeed.

Great point.
They probably wouldnt waste the time.
They’d probably just blow the dam and head east.
The reason I pinpoint havasu is because that’s where a lot if not most of the membership resides.

Here’s the problem as I see it.
If our military or guard is committed to a domestic defense, then that means it’s all out warfare and we have an even bigger problem internationally.
One thing being overlooked is that our guns mean nothing against air or artillery assaults.
It’ll be interesting one way or another.
I’m not trying to be fatalistic, I just think a lot of people have an unrealistic, dare I say romanticized, vision of what street warfare might look like.
If we can’t even define an enemy or strategic goals, then prayer might be the best option?

Are we trying to stay alive? Are we fighting for our country? Are we protecting our families, and if so to what end?
Are we guarding our gold and ammo? Our supplies?
300 people on the same page might be a force…I’ve never seen 30 of us agree on anything.

From a military standpoint, a hostile takeover of a city is not really the goal. Infrastructure and military targets I assume would be top on the list. Those would be targeted long before troops hit the ground. 500k plus gun owners won't really make a difference, when those are divided among themselves. The state of Arizona would be relatively crippled with a few missile strikes, I-10, I-40 and the runways at Davis-Monthan and a few others. Densely populated areas would be hammered by their own citizens. More loosely populated areas, like mine, would fair a little better, for a little longer, but it would be ugly.

As for surviving a firefight...I read somewhere years ago, the best way to survive one is to not be in one. Call me what you will, but I'll just be staying put and defending what and how I can...with a slingshot and pepper spray of course.

At a certain point, I stop buying all this bullshit. There’s no Nigerians gonna take over Phoenix.
It happens everywhere around the world all the time.
It hasn’t happened here in our lifetimes other than planes hitting buildings.
But I think it’s a mistake to dismiss the possibility.
Nigerians most likely would not be leading the charge.
But rest assured the absolute majority of nations on this earth would love to play a part.

Well, we are their enemies so I guess that would depend on the militaries allegiance?

I don’t romanticize it at all. It would be ugly, but the odds of the US losing are slim.

From the report it’s not a military we need to worry about, it’s a militia. I just can’t see a militia being big enough to over come our military and 2.7 million gun owners within AZ.

I’d have to agree sticking strictly to that report…real or not.

Arizona has 2.7 million gun owners, 500k more than the largest army in the world.

However, the report this thread is in response to does not mention a military. I don’t think a militia will have access to missiles.

Our infrastructure across the US was designed in a way that a few bombs or missiles wouldn’t not affect transportation.

Our current leadership might suck, but if shit hit the fan I have no doubt the real USA would rear its ugly head.

I think that whatever we see happen, it’s a fatal and unforgivable mistake to underestimate any enemy.
No matter who it is, a militia, an army, whoever…they are better trained and equipped and experienced than 90% of us.

Here's something to think about. In Ukraine, the two largest factions initially fighting were AZOV and the DPR. Both, by definition, were localized militias, independent of government...at least on paper. Both were picked up by proxy, funded and armed by outside countries, to do their bidding. This has happened in the middle east, and still ongoing. Larger countries will fund and arm militia type activity if it suits their needs. Why use your own soldiers for the initial wet work? Older weaponry, outdated and cheap, is just used as fuel for the fire. No wasting of your own trained troops, let idealists fight to wear down your foe. When they are weak, step on to takeover. It's happened throughout history.

I hope it doesn't happen here, but many signs are leading that way.

I believe all major events on mankind's timeline are marked with blood, in one way or another. "Good" and "Bad" are how they are perceived by people further down the line. Bad men can do good things, and good men bad, but who determines which is which?

And since you mentioned "the dam," (Parker Dam) how stupid are the two old guys sitting in little guard shacks?
So I drive a dually full of explosives onto the middle of the dam and I park . What are those two guys gonna be able to do before I blow that thing up.

Man that’s the truth.
I’ve seen the bunkers all up and down the chain, as well as the western coast mainland of Alaska. On Shemya I climbed all over the “Queen match” Reagan Star Wars missle silo.
We’d catch the coastie 130 over to Attu and I toured the Attu Japanese massacre sight and memorial.
Technically speaking that’s the only US Soil ever occupied by an invading force.
It’s about as humbling as the Pearl Harbor memorial.

My grandfather fought on both Kiska and Attu. The pictures I have and his stories were wild. He loved telling me his stories of his time in the war.

He shipped off to Africa and then India after the Aleutian’s.

His time spent on Attu were some of the more interesting stories told though.

As Tommy has stated........Interesting to read the replies in here. Me personally I am not here to open debate anybody on what their opinions are concerning these types of threats. This particular "prediction" may be 100% wrong, 100% manipulation, 100% correct, 50% correct....etc etc etc.....I don't know. But the possibilities of something like this are increasing in chance. Everybody has the right to express their own take on things but there is no doubt the enemy is within and working overtime. Maybe its a religious good vs evil deal? At least in some peoples minds?

IMO.....and no surprise here....the USA is currently very weak and listing like a ship without power.

I want to believe that we as a nation can right the ship. The bigger the ship the harder it is to gain back control.

Like I mentioned best thing to do is just take care of you and yours to the best of your abilities. The hope is we never have to get to the lowest point imaginable.

Some of these posts remind me of the funniest thread I have ever read back in the Hot Boat days. It was the one about "How many kindergartners can you take out before they take you out in a gym" Something like that. It was hilarious......wish it was archived somewhere to re-read. It was entertainment on steroids

Me.....I just enjoy working around the property, hanging with my pups, spending time with my son and have started golfing every week again. The golf game is coming back around which is cool to see. Not stressed worrying about things but do want a better tomorrow for my grandsons as the current direction is unsustainable.

Carry on :)

Strap on the NV for 4 hours...it ain't like wearing a helmet on a bike or in a car. Different placement of mass and a different range of motion. More like racing off road with no Hans or horseshoe.

I'm serious, though. Wyoming doesn't require a license and neither does Montana or Alaska. I wonder what they are referring to.
Could it be CC? Regardless of needing it or not

Is everybody missing the main point of That Twitter post?
If Trump wins
I thinly veiled post threat to try to scare some weak minds-out of voting for Trump.
Street fighting with a terrorist group? Lol. It’ll be so deep into fucked up before anybody knows what’s happening…
Does anybody even own standalone communication devices?

Don’t take this the wrong way, but most of you have no idea what you’re up against with someone who is trained in weapon manipulation, tactics and teamwork.

Not to mention your physical ailments.
Your average American is a borderline diabetic caring around 30 to 40 pounds of chub and abuses their body on the daily.

Get yourself in shape and seek out training with places like HaleyStrategic and Mike Pannone.

And stop buying cheap piece of shit equipment. Your 499 deal Buster AR 15 is no match against professional grade equipment. Just look at the ass clown with the SKS in Florida trying get Trump.

Tried to go a little bit in-depth on that article but it was a pain in the ass with all the advertisements. My guess is those percentages are per capita population. A little further down the chart shows Arizona, but the “license” issuance in Arizona was higher?

IMG_3256.png

I can believe the percentages of households that do not have guns is lower because we have a bunch of retirees and a lot of poor people in this state. All the rich folks live up north.🤣

That may all be true, but you’ll still be just as dead as the old fat guy with a cheap SKS if you get shot with a high velocity round through the eye. 🤣

True for anyone. Doesn’t change what I wrote at all.

But your post is indicative of somebody who has no idea really what I’m talking about. You realize that if the kid that attempted to take out Trump from that rooftop would’ve focused on center of mass instead of his head, we would be having a much different conversation right now.

Could it be hunting licenses? I remember a snippet from years back, opening day for deer season in PA was the equivalent to the 3rd largest standing army or something to that effect.
