I had to go to Smiths on that trip for butter. That is all I bought. Once there I saw everything was pretty well stocked.

I went yesterday for milk and beer, and once last week for a couple items. Place has been well stocked every time.

I still brought a lot of my own food for each trip, but I donā€™t feel like Iā€™m taking supplies from locals when shopping.

Im not banging on you in anyway and I know itā€™s hard to read tone in text which is why I prefaced this post with that statement..
For myself it was never about supplies or lack of. It was about people coming from far away areas and going into the grocery stores. Touching things handing money to cashiers etc

While I am sure you are careful, we all know most arenā€™t.

I understand your concern. My concern from the beginning is that I pose more of a risk contracting the virus here in Havasu than at home.

With the town not practicing any social distancing until very recently and the tourist/transient nature of people through the town I believe Iā€™m at a higher exposure level here than when I am at home.

The next question might be ā€œWell why even come to Havasu at all if you think that?ā€

I also believe that while away from the public in Havasu, Iā€™m at less of a risk here and am able to do some outdoor activities safely here that I canā€™t do at home. This is a net benefit for the mental health of me and my family.

Secondly, Iā€™m really not living in fear of this virus. We are not in the at risk group, we donā€™t have any underlying conditions, and from the start Iā€™ve believed that this is not as big of a threat as we are being told.

That said, Iā€™ll gladly do my part and continue distancing myself and family as much as is prudent. Yes we are outside enjoying ourselves, but doing so mostly alone, and at a distance from others when they are around.

At some point this summer Iā€™m going to look into it and start figuring out what itā€™s going to take.
I think it would be easy if you found a way to just keep it clean. Honestly I don't think even you can make people use a friggin trash can or take their own trash with them.

Iā€™m not sure how a Sxs down there would increase the trash problem.. ??

I don't think they would either. I was taking about when anything was driving in. And I really think Golf Carts where the worst offenders.

Jesus people are still having to justify this. Figured this would be over by now but keeps getting rehashed. Judging by Windsor being full yesterday and some of the pictures Iā€™ve seen posted I donā€™t think you should be having to justify anything about going to your house or the store for that matter.

pics like that second pic are what got the Florida waterways shut down

understood I get your point, but I think it was more than just a few people tying up which caused Floridaā€™s waterways to shutdown.

@RiverDave just curious which waterways you are talking about in FL being closed? As far as I can see it there have been no waterway closures in FL.

I know there have been some closures of some sandbars but no waterways.

We have an order of no more than 10 people on a boat at one time and to keep a 50ā€™ distance from the next boat.

I was out on Saturday at the sandbar in Big Sarasota pass and there was no less than 40 boats anchored out. The Sarasota County Sheriff was patrolling the area and did not see them come into contact with anyone.

I thought they originally closed them down?

Nope not that I am aware of.

Some counties closed public ramps and there was an outcry from people stating that closing them was unfair because people who have private docks and ramps where able to take out their boats and they where not. So certain counties opened them back up.

You remember before they closed it they tried charging to get in?
It was the private property owners that were charging back in the day. Before that there werenā€™t that many golf carts jeeps or pick ups down there, I can only imagine what it would be like today if it was lined with side-by-sideā€˜s, it will be just like people staking out three boat spots for their one boat. LOL let the fun begin. šŸ˜‚

Of course it was the property owner charging. As far as I know the same guy still owns it. I used to take my car there on Sunday's and it was very open.

I may have misunderstood you, I read it as if the city was charging.
It never bothered me, we used to drive my jeep down there until the PD started chasing us off, then again we used to ride motorcycles on Mudshark beach and we canā€™t do that anymore either. LOL

I was dropping my mom off down there right after they put all the no parking signs up. Asked the PD that was driving by if I could just park for a bit. Told sure as they couldn't do anything until owner complained.

X2

Most people are being respectful of the over concerned others. Pictures of people enjoying themselves electivley should not be an issue.

Here comes the justification.....

Cases spiked the last 2 days in the US and in AZ.

Fuck I donā€™t know what to think, but wanting it to be over doesnā€™t make it over. Hopefully there wonā€™t be a correlation in the increased river activities and new Mohave county cases, cause I'm sick of this BS.

I just slip my card in the slot. No cash. They cashiers don't have to touch anything except what I'm buying.

Mohave County is experiencing some major spikes now. Of course overall numbers are low relative to higher populated areas. Increased river activities began just prior to Easter. . . . . Timeline Correlation, increased testing or both? Whatever it is, opening of the countyā€™s economy is not going to occur if cases continue to spike. Population of Mohave County is listed at 220,000. As of this morning, per the Health Dept, tests performed were only 785. Thatā€™s not many.

I'm thinking it's low because some of us that live here are not going out. Or going out by themselves. Some of the party animals that come here and think they will never get it are a threat. And I have to wonder how many came here as carriers that did not show systems yet Last I read was gestation was 5.6 days. All it takes is one carrier to infect many people.

Well you actually have to spend some time with a carrier in close quarters to actually transmit the virus, not just walk by them. So if people maintain some distance, and wash their hands, there is low probability they will catch it.

As of right now Mohave County has 73 confirmed cases and 3 deaths.

I saw an animation example of a person sneezing inside a building and it was an eye opener. Not only did it coven a large area,BUT it was stated that it can "HANG" in the air depending on air flow etc. for quite some time. I don't know, but after seeing it and listeniing to the narator,n made sense to me. The demo. appeared like a Grocery Store and the Sneeze Cloud was into the Next Isle.

After all the reports of ramps Full and Traffic Everywhere= Will be very interesting next week.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts these relatively small communities. As we gather more statistics, it seems that the mortality rate of Covid will be far less than initially thought, however it's still killing a lot of Americans.

I assume Havasu and Mohave have limited capabilities when it comes to caring for critical patients, so a small spike will be devestating.

Sorry, that 82 case report was shown twice. In any case, a 22% increase in only 3 days is substantial.

And the droplets can and will land on things. Anything. including the floor. I'm betting not many people wear gloves to take shoes off before bed.

This is what I have been thinking about. Think of the areas where it has been the worst places like Italy and nyc where it is large buildings or close living quarters where people are touching things multiple times just to get to their apartment in addition to the ventilation systems. It will be interesting to see what studies later on show.

Let's stomp this MFer out, now. Whatever has been done here, and recently, in Mohave County, doesn't seem to be working so well. What the F can each of us do between now and the end of May to bring this to an end? It is a human virus - spread, controlled and contained by humans. If you live in Mohave County conduct yourself responsibly. If you don't truly live here, visitation now may not help things.

At the end of the day you have to ask whatā€™s changed in the last 30 days other than increased Infections - nothing.

We still have a highly contagious and very serious virus that has zero therapeutic medicines and no vaccine for another 12-18 months. This thing can do what ever it wants and is a fox in the hen house. Just because we are tired of being cooped up or without our jobs doesnā€™t mean shit to the true reality of this mess.

So you have gone from stay away ca people ......to ā€œ please support local restaurants by ordering to goā€ and now back to this ? At least Alan has been consistent.
