I've been all over out there coming from Havasu, Wickenburg and Wikieup with the exception of not pulling up to the lake, so there are parts I am not 100% on. Before suggesting that anyone take their family on this route, I would feel better if it were pre-run or hard verified, especially the "around the lake" segment. Rains, conditions and closures can always effect the best planned trip.
Based on my personal routes, and the routes I used from known stock jeep trips, here is what I would do if it was me alone.
I broke it into 3 segments. Its 65 Miles, but you need to add another 6 Mi R/T to play around in the slot canyon. So the whole enchilada is 71. This does not include mileage to double back up the wash to look for parts that fell off your RZR's
1. Orange Section 51Mi.: Standard wash south of the cement plant ( Hwy 95 pull-off) to Maggie wash slot canyon 2 miles from the Alamo shoreline. I've done the 1st half this in combination with a GPS route from a jeep club that is primarily stock jeeps
2. Blue Section: A 3 Mi RT side trip at mile 47 to a cabin and some Indian Petros (optional)
3. Red section 11Mi. : Maggie wash Slot canyon around the lake to Wayside. (I have no experience with this and used heavily traveled routes as seen from GE) My guess is there is a lot of traffic 4 wheeling and it would not be hard to find the route after talking to some folks, but this looked heavily traveled and the safest bet.
If this is too big of a trip then the trip to Wikieup and back is way easier and fun. Plus in Wikieup you eat at Joes BBQ, gas up and head back. About 25 miles of that 100 mile trip is high speed graded Rd over 3600" pass.

IM down...just would need fuel for the CR250R...which btw is almost done! only been down for three years!Whats the mileage to get to Alamo? I want to check it out on my bike.
So far we only have one vote on camping destinations. Where’s is everyone else at?
That requires waking up really really early and very quick beer stops lol, would prefer to not drive at night lolWe should Iron Man this thing. [emoji3]

If you want to stop at the Cabin and the slot canyon on the way in I'd suggest rolling by 7AM at least.
Hats off to BPracing1127 for volunteering to put this together
What's the exact date BP?Still waiting on opinions on where to stay so I can make reservations. I am only making enough for the people that vote
****one week to go for reservation deadline ***
***3 weeks until the run***
I think 2driver is right we should be leaving around 7 am I know that is early but in order to hit all the stop and have a few beers that is what we must do
I am proposing a start time of 6:30 at the human bean South McCulloch. Leave at 7

Well think about this the desert bash poker run starts at 7:30 and takes us 5 hours with s couple of beer stops. It was 56 miles this year.Jesus.. is this if we are Doing the whole thing in one day or camping?
That’s good news!I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it since I am coaching spring ball, but looks like our games don't start until 2/25. Wife gave me the ok last night, so I am definitely in as long as the Pony baseball starting games change.

This run is 80 miles and just as many stops so I am thinking leave at 7 on the trail by 7:30 and at the cabin by 4:30 ish? Leaves some room for errors like flats or more beer stops etc...
Again just my proposed time. I don’t want to dictate this thing but we should have a start time and place etc.... so that was my proposal..... would meet at 7:30 be better?
I will split a cabin with someone.Alright two more weekends until this ride. I will be reserving the cabins this Friday. As of now I am only reserving one unless more people speak up! Lol

I was thinking sandwiches for lunch and dinner perhaps something super easy like brats/ hamburgers or tacos.Alright cool. Let me know the total and I will bring cash for you. What about food along the ride? I was thinking of bringing my little propane camping grill and cooking up some brats or something. How about dinner on Saturday night??

I don’t have a lot of trunk space but was hoping @RiverDave could help carry some of the food needed? Wouldn’t be much?
Don’t forget wayside has a bar and grill. I don’t think it’s much but it’s something?
I want in on a cabin. I will know for sure by Friday. Looks good so farOSB yep got all that accounted for lol. Food if I have to might be a day old breakfast burrito lol too either way I’ll snack and munch too lol. Or I’ll have a liquid calories. Ha

Ok booked sites e41 and e46. They are $20 a night. View attachment 615251 View attachment 615252
It will also be a $15 per extra vehicle charge. Additionally it cost $7 per car to enter the park.
These sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. It’s not glorious but that’s ok, should still be a lot of fun.
They have fire wood available $7 per bundle as well.
6 miles
If there’s no cabins or hotel/motel I think I’m out
lol..
I am in....i might be rolling solo....seems pops doesnt want to roll without a cabin lolOSB yep got all that accounted for lol. Food if I have to might be a day old breakfast burrito lol too either way I’ll snack and munch too lol. Or I’ll have a liquid calories. Ha

Are you still planning on going? 9am start time should be a little easier for you..lol
What about Tom?
My answer is because they have toilets and we can buy firewood. Plus it was only 40 bucks totalJust thinking out loud but if you guys are renting a section of exposed dirt 6 miles from the RV park why not just find a killer spot in a wash with some big trees up against a canyon wall and camp there?
This exactly ^^^^^^ you don't need no stinkin campground piece of dirt, you're in the Desert for crying out loud and it's just one night, you can still bring your Huggie Pillow Dave and if you get cold just spoon with TomJust thinking out loud but if you guys are renting a section of exposed dirt 6 miles from the RV park why not just find a killer spot in a wash with some big trees up against a canyon wall and camp there?
