Crazy, I swear those old bastards are hormonal. Sometimes they are very nice and other times we just want to knock em out.

I think majority of the time it is the PEOPLE who use the marina not the staff. Like Windsor's cluster fuck is any better? I had a great time using the Lake havasu Marina over the Labor day weekend. I have never had one problem and will always continue to use their facilities. If you dont like it then dont go use site 6 I heard it's way nicer. The marina is well kept up and clean. If your acting like a jack ass and not following the rules that are clearly stated all over the marina then why should you be allowed in. It's just like someones house if you disrespect it I wouldnt allow you in either.

People normally give what they get. If someone acts like a bustedfuknuckle, the will be treated like one. Guys at the Marina are good hard working Americans. A couple have served this Country with distinction and honor. If you don't like the place shove your California attitude assward and launch elsewhere.

We always launch there and I even persuaded my good buddy Phat Matt to launch there this weekend rather than Windsor. What a difference....large area to turn around in, many lanes, no lines, even for Labor Day it was a breeze.

We've heard the stories as well but we've never had any problems with them at all....and yes, we are always nice, friendly and follow their rules.:thumbsup

Ok, first of all let me say the guys at the marina can be dicks! But look at the people they deal with all day...

That being said..... i've never had a cop be completely unreasonable with me when other people are going to be affected by my doings unless I asked for it.

I find it hard to believe that the cops made him leave with out at a minimum going down to the ramp and letting his family know that he is not on the property anymore and letting them know where they can meet him. That is simply putting people in danger or at risk and causing themselves more trouble. Which leads me to believe he was being very uncooperative....

the guy directing at the ramp was an A-Hole

Read this post and teh poll on it.

Check this Out

:grumble:

If you can even understand the story you're smarter than me!

The story:

""Now the Story, so i left the house with the A/C on so they could get in late friday and get there 2 yr old to sleep. cool deal, well they load up the boat and head to the marina at the island in lake havasu. the guy at the ramp took ther emoney told them the ramp to go to and then kicked them out. the funny thing is the guy just started yelling at them for no reason, the ignored it launched, them my buddy went to park the truck and was met by two HPD officers and escorted out of the place. they would not even let the friends and family know about the deal so for almost 2 hours they all waited and could not figure out or reach him.

So we are all asking that no one use the marina launch ramp in lake havasu.""

What?

I've never had a problem at the marina. If they keep out some of the riff raff, it's better for all us (except they just go to Site 6 or Windsor).

Probably the same guy that was fighting in the channel later in the day. Marina is the way to go, painted lines all the way to the water make a huge difference in keepin things organized. At Windsor there are no lines / lanes and it becomes a cluster fuck. Plus no rental boats launching at the marina.

Gordon i am sure will fill in the blanks sorry it wasnt the best post ever writin. in a time crunch at work and leaving on a business trip.
the basic deal is they went up and i was a day ahead of them and left there AC on to cool the house down, then the next day when they went to enjoy the weekend and launch the boat. the JackAsses at the marina gave them a ton of SHIT. long story short they called the cops for no reason and he had to leave plus not let anyone know what was going on. if you know Gordon you know hes the most CHILL person.

Makes no sense. What does spending the night at a friends place and leaving on the AC have to do with anything. What did you do to piss them off.

Was this the state run marina or the one on the island? I always use the one on the island. I have never had a problem with those guys. even had to leave my boat in the clean up lane Saturday night. Lost a trim pump and couldnt raise outdrive. They didnt like it but they gave me no issues about it other than get it fixed as soon as possible.

Nope- it's the staff.

I launched for years there, but like everyone else, eventually had a run-in with their idiots.

I will not give them a dime of my money. I also took it to the next level by writing a complaint to the governor in an attempt to get their lease revoked.

Any performance boater who still launches there after all the stories of performance boat discrimination should go over the the Bayliner forums...I think the fishing forums are now on the same page as the performance boat forums...lol.

I didn?t piss any one off maybe RD, sorry Dave. So i had a few min's to revise sorry hope it makes better sense now.

Now the Story, so i left there house Friday with the A/C on so they could get in late Friday night and get there 2 yr old to go to sleep.
Cool deal, well they load up the boat Thursday and head to the marina at the island in lake Havasu. the guy at the ramp took there money told them the ramp number to go to and then started saying something, they asked what was that and then kicked them out. the funny thing is the guy just started yelling at them for no reason, they ignored it launched the boat, them my buddy went to park the truck in the back 40 like always on a big weekend and was met by two HPD and the golf cart guy. The officers then escorted him out of the place. They would not even let the friends and family know about the deal so for almost 2 hours they all waited and could not figure out or reach him. He had to go park out side and make it back to the bridge.

So we are all asking that no one use the marina launch ramp in Lake Havasu.

I dont believe it. the guy taking the money at the entrance does not tell them which ramp to use. There is a lot more to this than what is said here. Still I also want to know what does the damn AC have to do with this?

I launched there the first weekend I had my boat out. I was ran off due to taking to long to launch (drive oil was low and needed to be filled) completely my fault, but there wasn't any lines to hold up. Pulled away filled the oil and then launched. Since then I had always used Windsor until Memorial Day this year as a buddy of mine had a slip so I decide to launch there as well.

In my opinion I prefer it now. Much easier then Windsor. As always there are two sides to the story. It would be difficult to speculate as others have said until we know both sides.

We've even launched at three in the morning there with no problems. Treat them nice and they will tell you where to park so they can keep an eye on your rig when leaving it overnight. I've seen them get pretty rude with people but they always seemed to deserve it. If you are a dick they will kick you out before making a buck. IMO it keeps out the a-holes.

I'm a cheap bastard, haven't launched there since they stopped selling annual passes.:D

I did launch a buddies boat there last weekend. Pulled out around 5:00 and had to wait in line about an hour. It was a complete cluster eff, there was 1 main line everyone was waiting in, some people ran down the middle and cut in line and others just exited and got in line at the entrance booth.

Do they still do sound checks at the marina?

Amen to that Brother,

I've been launching there for several years, I have seen the old guy(s) get after people just about the time I would have. It's the newbe's and the jackholes that take their sweet time putting all the crap & people in the boat while in a lane. There is a prep area for that same reason. I'll bet the old fella had a valid reason for kicking them out.

Gotta call Bullshit!first of all the guy that collects the money is several hunderd yards away from the ramp and does not take your money and tell you what lane to go to.
I have launched at the Marina hundreds of times and one time one of the old guys got a little cranky other than that like the song says if you don't start no shit there be no shit. They will even smile be friendly and drive you on the golf from your tow vehicle to the ramp.We had 2 dogs and a big ice chest and they drove us on the golf cart down to our slip in the west lot way farther than the ramp.

My buddy was the one who this happened to....here is the story as it ws told to me.

they pulled up to the shack paid their fees and drove on. When at the ramp one of the employees was saying something to them. My buddy JP rolled his window down to hear what the guy was saying (he didnt roll the window down completely) and asked the guy what he said. The employee at the ramp responded with "What are you too good to roll your window down all the way?" It was then their turn to launch. They launch the boat everyone gets in and off the boat goes. Now my buddy Gordon is driving the truck up to the parking lot. He gets out of the truck and the same asshole at the ramp comes up to him and tells him to get back in the truck and leave. Obviously at this point Gordon is confused as to what is going on and the guy tells him he has to leave and that he has already called the cops to tow the truck if it was left there. The employee started stating they have the right to refuse service and that they are not welcome there. My buddy Gordon asked if he could at least run down to the boat and let them know what is going on (his wallet, phone, etc.. was all in the boat so at this point he had no communication with the boat. Just then two of Havasu's finest pull up and tell my buddy that they received a call and had to leave since the marina does have the ability to kick people out at their discretion. Gordon had asked why he was being told to leave and their was no reason given, the cops even told him the marina doesn't have to have a reason. The only thing the employee had said was "next time you wont be too good to roll your window all of the way down". so he was forced to leave and wasn't even able to get in contact with the boat to tell them what was going on. :thumbsdown

Many of you on here know Gordon and know how laid back he is. I have experienced similar things from the marina, one time they are great the next time they are assholes. The story of what happenes was exactly the same from all the people in the truck, in fact that night when they told me about it they still had no clue as to why.

My guess is mikey (furniture4me) is drinking at the airport bar and decided to post up the story from the weekend ;) The house AC has nothing to do with the story. I do know that the reason they had the windows up in the first place was they had the AC going in the truck while waiting for their turn

After reading all these threads, I conclude that the old man hates people who leave their A/C on. When Gordon started to drive off, the old man asked him if he left the air on at his house. When Gordon stopped to ask him what he said the old man said, "Dagnabbit..I knew it..they left their A/C on." He then calls the cops, who agree with the old man about A/C abuse and the rest is history...Holy shit the bed!

My guess is mikey (furniture4me) is drinking at the airport bar and decided to post up the story from the weekend ;) The house AC has nothing to do with the story. I do know that the reason they had the windows up in the first place was they had the AC going in the truck while waiting for their turn

Thanks Bill yeah pretty much sums it up.

the whole A/C part had to do with 112 at 1:30 am when i got to Gordo's place on friday moring grabbed a couple hours sleep and then had to drive home. I turned the air on for them so it would be nice and cool to start the weekend off a little easier.

Gordos needs one of those remotes where they turn on the AC. Then maybe he won't piss off the nice retirees that work at the Marina. :D

BTW I quit going to Windsor and now launch out of LHM even though its further from my house. ;)
