Was he sleeping and he woke up freaking out?
Tough situation for the police.
Sounds Ike the police were there for a domestic of some kind. Normal people don't "sleep" with knives in there hands. I'd "guess" to say he was pretending to be asleep and waiting for police to come busting in. But that is 100% speculation.
BTW - what the fuck has happened to this board? We're no longer cop bashers [emoji2]
We need them to protect us white folk during these dark times.
By myself laughing after reading that

Fuck being a cop. That dude gave them no choice. Shitty that they're put in that situation.
There's always someone who thinks a taser would work or shoot them in the legs lol. Most of the time these situations can never take place without the perp participating in some way.

Damn, straight for the chest shot. Wonder why they didn't aim a little lower, but who knows. That seemed to escalate quickly. Maybe that guy just didn't like to be woken up before his alarm clock.
Btw- I'm sure that most of us here sleep with a knife or some other weapon near the bed. :cool
Where is it they should be aiming lower at and what would be the benefit to either party?

Correct me if I am wrong but I was always under the impression that once an officers gun is "unholstered" then "aimed" then "fired" it is to not maim but to kill.
Well correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was an officer's duty to not only protect themselves, but the person who they're detaining. I think a shot to the knee cap or anywhere else below the waist would have given the police the advantage they needed to safely get him into handcuffs. Like I said, things escalated quickly so who knows.
Edit: I forgot to respond to your 2nd question. The benefit to the guy with the knife is that he wouldn't be dead. For the cops, I'm sure (well, I'd imagine) that's it not easy to sleep at night after killing someone.
How about a .40 under the pillow next to me? In a quick access safe, of course...Damn, straight for the chest shot. Wonder why they didn't aim a little lower, but who knows. That seemed to escalate quickly. Maybe that guy just didn't like to be woken up before his alarm clock.

Not to go back and forth on this subject but that would be one hell of shot. Knee cap or any limb for that matter. Then this can go the direction that IF you did hit that target is it going to stop him because now they are up close and personal. Just a shitty deal all around
be'n a cop aint easy...and they do make mistakes...lol

A shot disabling him would have resulted in taxpayers paying his medical bill. Cremation is much more affordable under Obamacare.
That's just wrong. LOL [emoji23]
God only knows how that father feels. Not saying it's his fault for calling 911, sounded like he had to, but man, that's got to be a tough pill to swallow.
This is a clear example of people having no respect for authority. He committed a crime by threatening family members. He was given the opportunity to come out of his room with his hands up several times but he refused. Its unfortunate that he lost his life but Cops did what they where trained to do. Body cameras saved these officers careers by showing the truth. God bless those officers.

That city has more problems than the bathroom stall at China Buffet.

What kind of problems that other cities don't have. :headscratch:

I'll be in town next weekend. How many signs should I make?
Oh..I knew what you were doing. You have always had a hard on for Havasu. :monkeypee
Don't be jealous that Bullhead has way better quality meth than Havasu.
