Right!?!?!! Not surprised as they let things occur the last few years. Just look at Levine. My Step father and many others are turning over in their graves. They would never had let this happen. My Stepfather was the commander of one of the last diesel subs. Some missions were even in enemy harbors for communication purposes. His crew was only single men. He knew his missions might not allow them to return. He did not want their actions to create widows and orphans.
Then you have a good family friend. In the islands many times and when my parents traveled they connected many times. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd_M._Bucher. There were many great stories with him growing up. Only wished that I was old enough to understand truely who these two men really were. True heroes that would give up their lives for the country. One story that I recall is when he was captured P.O.W. The enemy forced him to go in front of a camera as propagand. He was forced to praise the enemy or suffer abuse. He found the there is a word that is pronounce as “pee on” that meant to praise. So he used it in his video. He said that “I’d like to pee on the North Korean government.” They were not happy when they found out the truth and he was beaten for it.
Sadly today’s military is not any where close to where it was.
