A few years ago my brother in law invited us to Discovery Bay to stay in a house he rented. I had spent a ton of time on the Delta with the DLB group years ago and always enjoyed it. But I had never been up there with my own boat.
My kids started wakeboarding and water skiing a few seasons ago and the delta is the perfect place for water sports. It’s also an easy drive up
The 5 freeway. Heading through the desert to Havasu can get old. It’s also not the ideal place to ski and wakeboard.
At any rate, we had such a great time every year we went to the delta we made it an annual family trip. We try and stay somewhere different each time. This year we are bringing the motorhome and staying at Jellystone/Tower Park. We camped at Lake Don Pedro last season and it reminded me of how much fun I had as a kid camping at the lakes and rivers with family and friends.
My kids loved it as well as they can ride there bikes and roam free for the most part. We have been spoiled as a family as we typically rent a house or hotel when we go to Havasu . I’m actually enjoying camping at the lake a bit more. In a campground we aren’t “stuck” in a house or hotel or always on the move to get on the water, go eat somewhere etc… It feels more like a vacation and I seem to relax more.
Motorhome and boat are hooked up. Headed over the grapevine… The fire and ashes dirty up the motorhome and boat so I had the boat detailed. Not enough time for the motorhome to get washed..
Made it to Los Banos! Im
Supposed to be on a diet. Carls Jr. was the easiest place to stop.
My wife and kids have had a tough week. Got back from Hawaii at 1am last night.
