Just landed and headed to the hotel. That is a long night of traveling especially with three kids

This deal was pretty last minute.. like within 24 hrs of “fuck it I’m going” to “fuck it the whole family is going” we are here..

We are staying at a marriot and there is a full fledged casino inside of it.. 😳

I am here for the afore mentioned MRE’s that my father in law and I went in on.. (I deleted the original thread, for a variety of reasons I am not gonna bother explaining).

We literally booked the room on the way here which is why I’m sitting in a hotel bar with the family waiting for check in at 4:00. It’s 3:18 local time here now, 12:18 AZ

Do y'all have time to go explore?

If so taking a car-ferry over to the island of Culebra is a great way to kill a day at some of the best beaches in the world. If you go, start the day at Flamenco Beach and head over to Punta Melones Beach for a sunset that is hard to beat. Best part is having your rental with you loaded up with food, beer and all the gear y'all need.

When I first drove in PR there was a crazy practice that you didn't have to stop at a traffic light after a certain time of day (midnight?). Made for some close, uncomfortable situations. Other than that, it was pretty easy.

If you have time old San Juan is worth it. The fort is bitchen. We stayed at El convento which was the old convent that they turned into a hotel. Didn't really believe in ghosts until I stayed there. Enjoy the music and the food watch out for the drivers cabbies or otherwise. Figured the guy in the newer town car would be a safe bet for a ride never knew a town car can jump a curb at 30 and keep going down the sidewalk without a hitch.

There is a lot of 18 year olds from Texas to the eastern seaboard here.

Drinking and casinos are 18. Some of these kids have “money”.. lol. Not too many I know grew up with had 10k to throw on a black jack table kinda shit. I will say they all have been way more behaved than west coasters though. Nobody totally sloshed and causing problems..

I was thinking of bringing my kids down here for their 18th b days. Be kinda cool.

We are gonna explore over the weekend. We don’t have a rental car but might get one for the weekend.

So moving forward, left the casino about 2:30 last night down 200.00..

Woke up at 6:50 am wide awake so I took a shower and hung out on the balcony for awhile. I figured I would be hearing from Rob about 7:00.. turned out he was in the casino pretty late as well. Lol

So I’m on the move and went for a walk to get breakfast

Just left the warehouse.. hard to describe the scale of things in a place like that. Flipping huge. It’s a federal building so they didn’t want pics on social media..

We did grab one case though and bring it with us.

For those that were negative in the other thread.

The reason I wasn’t sweating the dates. I called the company that made them and talked to a few people there. So long as the stuff is stored properly the dates are pretty much irrelevant. They are inspection dates. The type that I purchased have been actually “tested” way (wwaaaayyyy) beyond their shelf dates.

As someone else pointed out a lot of preppers know this and aren’t concerned.

Having truly seen the amount of product that this actually is.. I don’t think I want to sell this to preppers.. lol. I would rather move it at a pallet level “minimum.” 😳. This is a cubic shit ton of MRE’s.

Or there is other options, on what to do with it.

Upside is it’s all in perfect condition. No rodents or problems etc.

Now comes the logistics

cost effective shipping/logistics isn't going to be a walk in the park. What quantity? boat to Miami, then truck?
