Dave, since you are into spur of the moment vacations……. Did you know you are a VERY short plane ride to Tortola, from San Juan?

Trip Idea. Fly to Tortola. Stay at Nanny Cay Resort. Rent Center Console. Go to Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke. Willy T on Norman. Then off to Virgin Gorda Baths. That’s a doable single day with the right boat. Just an idea…..

Ok horseback riding 2 1/2 hours away.

If you aren’t into horses I’d skip this.. I’m sore all over. Lol. The rack wasn’t setup right one side the stirrup was fine the other was missing a pad so I got a nice buckle digging into my shin.. then I had some nice pinching action on my inner thigh…. Ducking miserable Plus Ass usual I got the asshole horse.. (pun intended)

That said kids loved it and Stacy did as well.

I’d skip it.. family loved it, use your own mindset on that.. about 110.00 a person cash. More if (I think 50.00 more) credit.

I should mention people keep
Asking if it’s safe. We are an hour and a half away from home and now and nobody is remotely concerned.

I’m tired from riding that asshole horse but I’m guessing the pain will keep me awake.

$65/ each cash for the horses. The owners or Tropical Rides moved here 27 years ago from Washington State and CA. They raised their kids in PR and sent them to local schools. Both are off to college and completely bilingual.
Off to Vieques Island tomorrow with the kids for a boat ride and snorkeling. Dave and my Dad have to deal with MRE business. Feeling 💯 comfortable here with the kids on the safety front. I really like Isabella and would have loved to visit Rincon but that will have to wait for another trip. Also loved Fajardo. Lobster joints at every turn.

That trip with the family looks awesome! I love doing spur of the moment stuff with my kids like that.

I figure my job is to give them "forever" memories now that they're old enough to remember...

well I was down about 300.00 for the week in the casino..

Up 1050.00 waiting for Stacy and the kids to get ready to go to lunch!

Maybe I’ll just play cards for a couple days and let rob deal with the MRE’s.. lol

The casinos in San Juan at one time had used equipment from Las Vegas. Playing Black Jack the logo on your table might be The Sands, Frontier, Desert Inn etc. Kind of different.

Looks like a great trip!

I realized that PR is a destination getaway for tons of people on the east cost. Its a short and cheap plane ride for warmer weather.

One thing I always thought was weird when gambling is that they serve food (soup) at the blackjack tables and machines. Nothing better than enjoying food as you are handling dirty money in a smoke filled casino!

I didn’t see that at any of the casinos we went to?

Went to La Concha last night.. won 8,000.00

Was shitfaced and walked back to our hotel and lost 1500 in about ten seconds.. lol. Decided to goto bed 6500 ahead instead of broke.

I did think it was kinda weird that at la concha they didn’t want your chips on the table but rather down below on this wooden thing where your drinks were at.

No smoking in any of the casinos.. or honest even on the hotel properties. You have to walk out to the side of the entrances to smoke.

Dave goes down to secure transport for a boat load of "MRE's" and is coming back with rolls of Benjamin's? 🤔

Does the wife know what she's in for yet?😅

International travel is different then domestic.
You have to declare, if over 10k (I think that is the number).
Better to apply cash to hotel bill when you settle the rooms vs declarations for the cash when you go through customs.

Interesting. Because this is a USA territory I don’t think we have to go through customs. Will find out shortly.

Looks like a no on custom (based on safari), but might still have to file form 6059B and FinCEN 105 if you have over 10k in cash

Nice!

Maybe its changed, I havent been there in few years. I know they used to serve food at that the 4 Seasons at the tables.

La Concha is a super cool hotel, I have stayed there a few different times and also had some decent luck gambling!

Probably bitten by what they call No-See-Ums. Basically a sand flea. The breeze usually keeps them away but if it’s flat calm they’re brutal.

Since y’all are into real estate…property values in PR are thru the roof. Especially luxury homes.

Some have gone up 500% in two years or less…lots of wealthy folks relocating there due to favorable tax climate.

The housing shortage over there is worse than havasu. We spent sometime checking that out

Just curious, how much does it cost to ship 245 pallets from PR to AZ? I can't even try to guess the number. Any number I come up with would be a complete shot in the dark.

Good to see you and your family had a good PR trip. The color of your foot in photo #4 really sucks. Is that an illusion? Looks like a Coroner’s photo!

Wow. Seriously sorry to hear that. As you likely know, the darkened skin color doesn’t indicate anything good. IMO - it should have some medical attention. Hundreds of considerations. Starting with, do you have full sensory feelings in that foot? WTF - You owe it to yourself and your family, the opportunity for it to be looked at by a specialist when you get home. You’ve been given the opportunity to have 2 healthy wheels. Hope you don’t overlook that.
