There's a guy who I made a lot of money for, but have never met in person. I couldn't put a face to his name and he couldn't put a face with mine. He is a trust fund baby out of Alaska, who hasn't had to do much of anything on his own and by the way he talks about it, he seems pretty proud of it. Anyways, he liked to talk my ear off every now and again and while doing so, would go off on rants: Beaner this, arab that, nigger this and blah blah blah. He also likes talk about how America is going to shit, because of all of the colored people. He made a comment about Natives which after being a avid student of Western History and part Native American (Lakota) I could've taken offense, but I didn't. Maybe it's the half white in me. LOL

Here's my point. I can think of a few dozen times where people made racist comments (not jokingly) or had racist opinions of me. I'm not going to let some ignorant racist ruin my day, but I will make money off those crackers all day long and not think twice about it.

Ethnic pride next to religious pride is by far one of the biggest downfalls of human life. We are all the same and none of us know exactly what we really are. Think back ten generations in your family; Do you know those people? Where they were from? What they look like? Probably not. Lets go back 20 generations? You could have a white supremacist, who has African and Jewish in him, yet he doesn't even know it. We are all human beings. Period. Realize that, go on about your life and remember that anyone who is a racist, is just an ignorant idiot who shouldn't be taken seriously whatsoever. Next time a white person calls you a wet back, remember that your people only crossed a river, but the white man crossed an entire ocean to get here. So who's the bigger wet back now?:D

I think you made a mistake by beaching near them and walking over to their boat. Any brown man should know not to start a battle between the white man and the police. You'll never win. :D Next time laugh it off and go enjoy the remainder of your day. Life is too short to give a fuck what others think of you. Especially those opinions based merely on something you had no control over (the color of your skin).

Very true...on all points. although I am as white as they come and as you state yes my family immigrated from Europe. Other family members are Hispanic Second I was merely getting my group member. I did ask why they called us wetbacks to the two guys who where apologizing for the friends behavior. OH well lesson learned. I always stated to my passengers no starting crap while in my boat.. To clarify beaching next to them, no we were at the mouth by the south lighthouse swimming as they drove by.

NGE,

I've never met you, but you are alright.

Pretty much how it is.

We are separated by many factions, all so we can be dominated, one way or the other.

Brian

Agreed. People can't assemble and over-ride the system that oppresses them if they're too busy fighting each other. This was one of the reasons why Natives were broken up from their tribes. Government wanted any group that was a threat to their system dismantled entirely. In 1887 came the Dawes Act to separate the tribes (destroy the Indian way of life/culture). Then shortly after Wounded Knee (1890) they succeeded. By 1891 there were no more armed tribes who stood against the government. We see the same happening today (government want's our guns)... and they will eventually get them.

Sorry-I tend to go off on history tangents when given the opportunity. :)

There are good cops and bad cops. I have had good experiences with cops as i've grown older and become more mature. All that being said; if it wasn't for cops, this society would descend into anarchy faster than you could say Dunkin Donut.

Sometimes when you go to the DMV you get a bad civil servant, and sometimes its a good one. It doesn't matter what the profession.

I love to drink; fact of the matter is, on holiday weekends, or any weekend really, when i'm the captain I do not drink. Boating is hard enough sober. I for one am thankful for water cops.

I hear this statement used to respond to poor police behavior all the time. There is actually middle ground in between zero cops and dirty cops. It's not a choice between the two. When someone expresses their experience with a dirty cop it does not mean they are saying that we should abolish the police. I have never heard someone say that. What I would like to see is emotional, psychological and behavioral screening. Officers should be trained how to deescalate a situation. Not everyone is cut out to be a cop.

I had a bad dealing this weekend. A orange and green DCB was entering the mouth of the channel and the people started yelling at my group racial slurs. Calling them wetbacks and to get the f out of here. One of my members went to talk to them where the beached and who seemed to be the owner was apologetic....I went to retrieve my member noticing the Police where 10'feet away. As I ask a couple guys why they called us wetbacks. They were apologizing and then boom..This is when a steroided dude hit me with an elbow from behind. Cops and sarge threatened to arrest me. I ask why he wasn't arresting the big guy for assault. Simple said I was ensiting them according to witnesses around his boat. I had been there less than a minute. They actually watched it and denied that they seen it They never question our witness and actually refuse to. They then refused to give me their badge # for a couple minute first stating they didn't have it. Later giving me their cards. Afterwards I questioned them and requested them to seek out our witnesses. They then became hesitant still refusing. I have always been one to try and stay calm and avoid trouble. This situation blew my mind. I know they are out in the heat trying to keep the peace.
I think its bullshit that you have to have a baller boat as previously stated. I left my boat behind to enjoy the day in the channel so that made me not entitled. As for the Sarge and his partner they made it clear when you said you don't want our kind in AZ.
Firemen, Border Patrols, cops, black, Hispanic, and whites all citizens of the US.

Hard to believe that a boat pulls in and starts yelling racial slurs just for the fun of it..But what do I know, worse things have happened im sure..:thumbsdown

Does seem kinda odd that it would just come out of the blue like that.. but who knows.

Strangely a lot of people say that.. Then some of the non drinkers get snagged into some bullshit and treated like a criminal for a 1/2 an hour or so and they change their tune pretty quick.. LOL

They need to revoke a considerably amount of power from the police, and have real consequences for the abuse of said powers.

That's awesome. So you've had personal experience with 3 court proceedings, and a run-in with a uninformed ranger. You are absolutely justified in your belief that cops are not your friend and can not be trusted.:rolleyes

I'll still sleep soundly at night knowing that I do my job, along with ten's of thousands of other cops out there, with integrity and well within the law. We can compare war stories if you want. If I used your logic, everyone would be an asshole criminal willing to slit their own kids throat to get a candybar at 7-11. Glad I have just a tad bit more common sense then that.

Actually common sense IS learning from ones own experience.:rolleyes I'm not surprised you disagree.

And of course you think I said all cops are bad:rolleyes Typical defensive emotional response. So sensitive.

And if you used my logic you would understand that there are good people and bad. Just like there's good and bad cops.

The thing is that when you're being abused by an asshole cop the nice cops are irrelevant.

If you think all cops are the same you have some learning to do.:rolleyes

Slitting a kids throat? What the hell?:rolleyes

I form my opinion based on what I hear from others. But mostly I go by My own personal experience and observation. I grew up thinking cops were nice guys.

I've been in court trials 3 times....

So I have a hard time having respect for police. They lack integrity in my book.

Police are paid to do a job. I'll never understand why people rave about a cop helping in a traffic situation.

People say not everyone can be a cop. Well I know I could never do a job like that, lying and jacking people up while acting like a friend.

So my conclusion is cops are not your friend and cant be trusted.

This is a slightly shortened version of your first post, and the one I responded to.

Read your first response again. You stated you had 3 experiences with cops, then made several declarative statements about cops... You did not specify only the ones you've dealt with. So I am left to assume that is how you view all cops, hence my idiotic suggestion that everyone would be willing to slit their own kids throat over a candybar at 7-11. In case you don't get it, I don't judge everyone based on the people I deal with while actually being a Cop.

OH wait...:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes:rolleyes Was that enough of the eye rolling things?

I'm not quite sure what your point is.:rolleyes

I see you use the word ASSUME. Ask someone what that stands for.:rolleyes

Not that it matters but as I said Two separate times as a witness where both times I witnessed a cop in both instances lying through their teeth thus fucking over the people being charged.:rolleyes

The third time was at Windsor 4 with an un-uniformed dirty maintenance/LE guy working under an old piece of shit maintenance truck. :rolleyes

I cant really spell it out any better. :rolleyes

And I still have no idea what slitting some kids throat has to do with anything. It's kind of a disturbed thought.:cool
Do you often have thoughts about abusing or harming children?

You made statements:rolleyes indicting all cops are liars :rolleyes and cannot be trusted:rolleyes after giving examples of your :rolleyes three experiences with them:rolleyes... I made an idiotic statement that if I used your same logic:rolleyes and judged all the people I contact:rolleyes based on my prior :rolleyes contacts while on duty:rolleyes they would all be willing to :rolleyes cut their own kids throats:rolleyes for a candybar:rolleyes at 7-11.

You see how stupid that sounds? Judging all based on the actions of literally your 3 personal experiences. I have more than 3 contacts usually within the first hour of my shift. I give every person I contact the benefit of the doubt until they prove my suspicions right or wrong.

It's ok though, you can play dumb if you want, your words are clear. I even quoted them for you which by the way I'm 100% good with. Are you familiar with the term "Ignorance is bliss"?

Oh and by the way. What they say about the word Assume, is it's makes an ass out of you and me... but it makes an ass out of you first;) Which again I'm 100% good with.

I'm talking back in the early 90's. There use to be a LHPD cop, Mack if memory serves me correct, at the time maybe 2 patrol boats that would cruise the packed channel during the day, I'd always have water and a sandwich ready for him and his partner when they would cruise by. Got to be tight with him through the years, they were cool back then, now a days it seems they deal with a different breed of citizens, less overall respect for life in general. I imagine if I were a cop now compared to back then I would have a tough time dealing with the arrogant, disrespectful yoot of today.

I will say this, the DOUCHBAG(for RD) fed cops at Lake Mead are by far the DOUCHIEST(for RD) law enforcement out there, one of the main reasons we left Mead. Always bitter and pissed, never ever smiled unless they were hookin someone up.

When was the last time you lied in court and jacked someone up just to win? Cops lie to win. It's one of many tools of the trade. It's funny how you resort to smiley faces. So petty and sensitive. I bet if you had the opportunity to do so you would be jacking me up right now. :rolleyes

Not all lie. But after my last trial I know some of them will tne change their story and the da will cover them. Bullshit how the system works. I was 100% innocent proved it and had witnesses but the jury said they didn't believe me or my witness and cops don't lie [emoji57] funny I come upnw paper work from the vet to prove he's lying then they just change the story lol bullshit

Same ole cop hatin RDP I see. Same people who love to hate cops.....NOTHING ever changes.

I think it's important to remember something here.. it isn't "RDP" RDP is a cross section of society as a whole. Right now cops as a whole have a public relations nightmare on their hands. Never in my life do I ever remember them being so distrusted, hated on, etc.. If someday you want to have a real conversation about that and why, I'm up for it.

I was raised that cops were your friends. You need help flag down a cop type stuff. Now I wouldn't call a cop or flag one down unless I was in some circumstance that it was absolutely necessary. How does a person go from one end of the spectrum to the other in a few short years? I can tell you how I did if ya like..

To tell you the truth Dave.....your opinion on this subject, and a few others, doesn't really matter to me. I did the job for 35 years (now retired) and have run across people with opinions like yours. There is no way to change your opinion on your perception of cops. I've been down this road with you on several different topics. You have your opinions and I have mine. I did the job and you didn't. Simple as that. By all means.......keep your opinion/perception. My life won't change either way.

Where what is coming from? I'm not on here blasting cops all the time.. Point in fact when it gets out of hand I'm the guy saying tone it down. I will say I don't disagree with a lot of the shit people are saying, but for me when it crosses some line of "haterade" where logic goes out the window, and a person is just being an ass (IMO HavaSteve crossed that line in this thread) then I tell them to knock it off.

That "word" is offensive to a lot of people. I'm not a huge fan of being PC, but that word is personal to me.

Ultracrazy, First let me say my friends and family are and were cops etc. I have nothing against them. They do however tend to band together, I get that also. There are good and bad people in all professions etc. Untill someone has video proof they can really never do wrong. But to make a comment as typical RDP peeps just kinda reinforces the consensus. Now let's be honest, you never came across a cop who acted inappropriate to a given situation.
Let's be honest now...

Well in all fairness, I'm struggling with your comments about "We don't want your kind" earlier in this thread, because all the cops in Havasu wear those body cameras.. I can't imagine there would be anyway in hell they would say that on camera?

Just an FYI, if he actually did, you can request the video. You can also get the video of peoples arrests in havasu for like 10 bucks.. It can make for entertainment at parties... Especially if you know the people. :D

Had those cameras been on 10 years ago. It either never would have happened, or it wouldn't have been "he said, she said"

I would have bothered with a judgement and gotten my boat repaired on the city of Parker's dime.

Well in all fairness, I'm struggling with your comments about "We don't want your kind" earlier in this thread, because all the cops in Havasu wear those body cameras.. I can't imagine there would be anyway in hell they would say that on camera?

In the situation...

Some peeps would rather "just take their lumps" RD.

Some would not.

15 pages, and none of us are any closer to getting free tee-shirts:)

Speaking for myself (and my kids by definition) I'd rather not have the t-shirt.. I'd rather just be left alone. A simple wave would put a smile on my face more then the t-shirt. The boat will put the smiles on the kids faces.

I agree with you 100%, but I thought it was funny to throw that out there

I couldn't agree more. I have taught my kids to be very respectful of the police but also to keep as far away from them as possible and bring no attention to yourselves.

Never thought of what im going to teach my kids. I want him to be law abiding and not afraid of police. I tend to not want any attention from them but for good reason. I do t mind dealing w them on the water but I really would prefer they not board w there shoes on. That's something I don't even do

That's funny how you say you both have an opinion BUT theirs doesn't count because they weren't a cops. See, cops have to be right.
