Is it still that way in Utah?
I haven’t been since 2007-8ish
Your state rangers were kind enough to come to our camp (because of our out of state plates) 😉and inform us of the laws there.
Adults were free to wear one or not, kids had to.
Kids in our camp were posssd off they were required to have undergone some state riding safety course and cert or they couldn’t ride.
However, in Utah they allowed riding doubles on quads.
Strange rules but we still managed to have a great time.
Do they still allow riding double?
Helmet laws still the same?

Helmet laws mirror AZ - Adults optional, kids mandatory.

I don’t know about the doubles on quads.

You do now need a UTV safety course cert. It’s 15 mins, once a lifetime.

UTVs are street legal.

I have not been to Glamis since before this thread was started due to life happening… Are helmets now required for Sandrails?

This is not a question of IF one should be worn, but IF it is now an implemented law since the talks of changing due to the Pro R.

Not required yet, heard there was a push for it thought.

My buddy went into a coma for 3 months because he flew off a one wheel skate board with no helmet. And this guy was a great dirt bike rider, bmx rider, athletic guy.

He didn't recognize his family after this freak accident. And is still recovering years later.

Just wear a damn helmet if you want to remember your wife or kids.

I will add that wrist restraints for SxS and buggies are a good idea
I have seen a slow roll over with no damage to anything or anyone except smashed hands and broken arms
Window nets are also a good option.

Ah.....the helmet debate., and Dave I will agree with you, hit a whoop or a jump wrong and you feel the weight even as an adult.

Can't speak to the SXS issue, but years ago I hit a witch eye 3 gear pinned on my quadzilla. Quad went up, I went superman, and the quad landed on my right shoulder, busting me up pretty good, cracking my skull and crushing my Bell Moto V. Split the helmet in half, but that helmet is the only reason I am here today (got the scar to prove it). Don't even cruise the CR450R to the bathrooms without a helmet on.

So far, no helmets required in a Pro R due to 2000cc engine.
Pro R's are not registered as a SXS. registration and pink slip say DB, stands for dune buggy in CA.
