Sure doesn't look like the tech working on the thing is showing a ton of respect.

"The tech"? I think this is the vehicle that they are teaching the tech class with. Each person got to take apart one part of the truck. Looks like they had a full class.

It was back together Saturday. I talked to the tech for a bit. He seemed pretty competent. The truck had thrown a couple of codes and he was going over some stuff. I asked him not to rush it and make sure everything was right at this point. It was throwing the same code when I took it in so it had a problem prior. Actually it would turn on the wrench light and clear itself when you restarted it.

You told me about it, but boy seeing the picture sure looks like he tore it apart, dropped the left overs and moved onto the next job. How hard would it have been to throw a bolt/nut on the reservoir back in it's mounting location to keep it from doing that. Hopefully it's done right and you never have to look back.

Without going through this whole thread, where is the truck being repaired at? Havasu?

I hope it all works out well for you.

If not, I've always been treated well by Anderson, but I've truly never had a major problem so who knows.

Yes. On my way to get it now. It's been two months without a truck and definitely a hardship for me. I can't wait to move on from this.

I'm betting 5 days before we see a thread with you rolling a new truck!

Your optimistic , I think it will go from dealer pick up to dealer drop off.

Good luck Paul. [emoji106][emoji202]

I think you should pick it up from the service center and promptly drive to the sales department. Trade it in on a new truck. Tell them this truck is 100% good to go with a clean bill of health from your service center. I'll take top $ trade in value towards a new truck. [emoji2][emoji106]

Lol. It's on my mind. I like my equity position though and I wanted to buy a car next time and just keep this pile. I have some thinking to do for sure. In the mean time it has a two year warranty on the motor. [emoji106]

Hmm. Tough call having that warranty for two years. The truck is nice , ya maybe get that car and use this pile for two more years.

I hate decisions when it comes to vehicles.
We are going back and forth what to get.

Keep the truck , fix the little issues and bank the equity . Why give the state all that tax revenue ? The problem with buying a new vehicle
is it becomes a used vehicle the second you drive it off the lot .

Interesting read on all of this. Just had to wade through all the GM fanboy junk. This should not have taken this long, but I would tend to agree that so far the 3.5 has been a great motor. I just hope to continue to hear that as I just bought an 11 SHO with the same motor. It makes the Taurus a beast of a car...... I finally had to sell the SVT Focus as I needed 4 doors for the car seat.

Keep us in the loop on this one. I am interested in how it works out.

So how is the truck running?

Surprisingly no issues. I towed with it already.

Did a demo in this amazing little boat. [emoji106]

I gotta say Bradley tried really hard to make me happy. Loaner car. Detailed the truck. I picked it up and I owed like 900 for miscellaneous stuff including a new throttle body. They told me they didn't have the bill and that they would call and I could pay later. That's unheard of from a car dealer.

Glad to hear it's running good. As far as the throttle body goes we have had 2 failures with our work trucks. Is that the Howard from Maxed Out Marine? That boat is sweeeeeet!

The dealer said 2 years unlimited miles on the warranty. So I think I'll run the piss out of it.

Hell yes. And on that day before warranty is up. Unloaded. Good idea. [emoji106]

They are a great dealership. They busted their ass on my truck that another dealer in carlsbad screwed up. I drove out with a issue that got worse as I got closer to havasu. This was about 4 years ago. Unfortunate issue with the motor but Bradley sounds like they did right with you....

I wouldn't sell it to anyone though. I'd trade it in or give it to my son.

You can always trade it in on a used certified car and have a warranty without taking the huge depreciation hit of buying brand new.

My first profession was an Auto/Diesel Tech and one thing that I learned from the inside is that it's a crap shoot. I worked with some true knuckleheads. Rip and tear stuff out, leave bolts loose or missing, take short cuts along the way. Ugh some of the stuff I saw was ridiculous. I saw a mechanic cut fuel pump wires one time instead of unplugging the connector because it was faster. I went in and told the Service Manager that either he goes or I go because I am not working for a dealer that has shit technicians. When you find a good tech, remember his name and ask for him again. I had many repeat customers that would only let me work on their cars.

During my career I had many an engine or car taken apart and all the bolts were thrown into a container that used to hold a gallon of antifreeze. Surprisingly when the job was complete the container was always empty. When you do this everyday things just click and memory takes over at least for me it did.

Run the crap out of it and don't give it a second thought. If anything happens to it again, then it was going to happen anyway.

So true. I have worked for a handful of dealers. One exotic shop that was even worse. Zip ties and sheet metal screws fixed everything for a few hacks. Nice to hear there is someone else out there detailed and cares.
