Anyone remember BlownRayson(I think thats right)? The dude that posted a thread sharing his butterflies about getting married then posted a pic of "her".. only to find out that was a picture of some random girl on myspace and her friend called him out on the boards.

Heartless Heather I believe. :p

Don't forget Jazzyjezz. Came in like a windstorm of posts, went to Vegas never to be heard from again.

I remember the MissHBJ vs Topless vs Sandybarebottom free for alls. The pre-kinder gentler Topless... :p

As I recall, she had a set of billet DDs installed and was considering reducing them because "everyone was doing it". :D

There have been some amazing slap downs on HB over the years. "Team Turnkey" comes to mind but there have been so many, it'd be tough to pick. :D

I also remember a lot of really good people who were lost. Flat Stupid. I didn't know him, other than online, but we exchanged some PMs and I enjoyed his presence on HB. He is missed by a lot of people.

The HTM accident....

It's interesting how much good, bad, and other has flowed through the forums over the years. It took me a few years to realize we are reading life. It seems like a big deal when someone passes on, and it is, and it seems like a big deal when someone gets married, and it is, but what we're really experiencing is contact with the lives of many hundreds of people. It's been a treat to be part of so many lives.

Spekin' of Barney; wassup w/him? Still around Havazoo?

He's living in Vegas these days. We went out for dinner with Jen and Barn a year ago, or so. They seem well.

I see him online once in a while. I think he feels a little disconnected with the online crowd anymore. He has a whole bunch of real life that takes priority over the online thing.

I'd be in the same boat, were it not for my job which often requires me to sit in on mindless WebX presentations and other online or voice conferences. It's nice to have a place to hang out.

Anybody else here from the hot boat pay site?

It had just gone to free when I found Hotboat. I remember people talking about it online the 1st day I signed up.

You remember a guy named "Pon pon racing?" or maybe "pan pan racing?"

There was lots of drag boat guys online at the time.. lots of priceless engine tech as well.

It wasn't Havexico, it was MoneyPit....not Ray, but the "other" MoneyPit. And he pussied out! ;)

OK, I had 2 Ts at HB. Moneypitt....The other MP didn't follow to PB, or RDs unless he has changed his screen name.....Ray

PS: Remember Topless' kids stranded at the Denver Airport during a Christmas trip snow storm?.....The HB Family response was overwhelming. Total strangers opening their homes to her kids, offering to drive 50 miles in the snow to be sure the kids we OK. Those memories will always be there. I have no doubt that same "Family" has migrated here and PB, and that, boys and girls, is quite reassuring in today's world.....A MAJOR terrorist attack, a major natural disaster, or just a break down on the highway, the "Family" will be there for us....Ray

THe HTM tragedy. I don't know what was worse; the actual tragedy (of course it was the worst part of it) or the brouhaha that followed between RD and some a$$hole that just rubbed poor ol' Doug the Jeweler the wrong way from Sunday.

Thanx for the update TB. I always liked Barney even despite hin mein' such a "barney" sometimes. Always got a big kick outta the "Hillbilly Barney" pic and his storied Russian pals and their escapades.

Not only Hotboat, but that is where it started with me. I came originally out of curiosity I think in 2001, lurked around a bit and joined. Over the years I have met (both online and in person) a great number of people that I had never imagined I would when I signed up. Board participation sparked a renewed interest in me for boat racing which for a large part I had not payed much attention to since the 80's beyond reading mag articles etc. I started attending races again, got involved, met a ton of great people both drags and circles, started shooting photos and covering the events for pb (post Hotboat). It's been a good experience and a course I'd likely not traveled if not for the boards. Lots of friends in lots of different circles discovered. I'd like to think I've helped a lot of people, I know a lot have helped me with all kinds of subjects. The boards offer a wealth of knowledge from a wide cross section of people on just about any topic you can come up with. While Hotboat certainly wasn't without controversy (as no board is) and ultimately flamed out, it was a good run there and much more positive than negative in the big picture. I enjoy all the boards to the extent of the limited time I have, which is very limited right now.

I remember that story quite well. It did have a few bad posts in there but for the most part was pretty amazing to see the family of people here help out someone in need.

I think there was a few people that were going to show up to that midget mashing. :D

LOL....mashing? I think I could have given you a decent work out. I would have let you decide the style...grappling from ground or standing?....throws? Any standing contact? Gi or no gi? We just need to remember we are both over 40 and have day jobs. :D

Dr Eagle, God, and . . . was it Summerluvin? or Summerlove? Had a nice red and white daycruiser, liberal guy, used to fall on the wrong side of politics, but always a reasonable debater. He was a citycouncil man or mayor in SoCal.

RiverKitty and her drama were definitely entertaining.

I'm still around, just not on the boards as much these days or at the river either, since I'm going on summer #3 without a boat. :grumble: Business is picking up though. Another boat will be in my future soon, I hope!
