Met my wife in high school we had a class together...both Jr's...tried to flirt with her... Saw her before that class and always thought she was pretty but she never really gave me the time of day... So once we were in class together I was able to get to know her better. We went to a couple of dances/parties but it sort of fizzled... She thought I was a player ....and probably right... but we remained friends. As things slowed with Jamie, I met another girl Lynette different high school and we started dating ....for like 9 months...but during that time Jamie and I remained friends and became closer... She became the girl Lynette worried about......well Lynette and I hit a lull and likely because I really wanted Jamie and we were growing beyond friends... Well ended up breaking up Lynette and Jamie and I started dating officially...I loved Lynette too and felt bad how the breakup came to fruition but I owned it and she hated me for it... At that young age the heart does what it does.. That was 35 years ago, 27 of them married...so breaking up with Lynette, who was great, was worth it.
So to answer your question....just cause it does seem not perfect now.....it may change with time. Humans are social beings and the more time spent together you will either grow together or grow apart...you can't change this courting artificially....
Someone said it earlier....keep her in the lineup but don't push all your chips in at this point...
