gotta be careful with terminology and ideas with the sparkys, but maybe instead of pissing billions away on the bullet train, masks, unhoused angelinos housing, bullshit kickbacks contracts and maybe just maybe grant Edison or power companies some of that money to go underground with power lines ???

the richest state in the union ??

just a thought . bet big balls Elon the nazi would figure out a way...

Are those current codes? The title 24 window, insulation/ventilation and roofing specs are geared towards energy conservation and not fire safety. The guidelines in fire areas are loose at very best around defensible space and what’s recommended vs what’s enforced. (IE. Combustible fencing/gates are not recommended but not code driven).
There's varying fire code requirements depending on your area's designation --- -Such as our designation being Wildfire Urban Interface. Structural materials, including doors, windows and roofing materials and approved vents were included in it.

I can't tell you what's current, in terms of revisions, and what may be required now and the near future following these recent events are subject to change, as they did immediately following the '07 fires.

We started our rebuild in '09. I realize some like landscaping were previously recommendations, but as some recently discovered, your ability to obtain or maintain insurance may be influenced by your fencing, planting and maintenance decisions.

Two things.

1) I don’t hate Newsome, I laugh at him, along with his followers.

2) You didn’t answer the question T. 😝

I answered the question to my satisfaction from my point of observation. That's the extend of effort I'm willing to put forth. 😁

Interesting, I’ll have to dig around LA counties websites a bit more. The only thing i could find was don’t use shake/wood shingles, defensible space and combustible fencing. Even those were a little vague.

I think if you google LA County WUI Building Codes should provide some links. Of course every area will tweak it to their whims, often at the direction of the local Fire Marshall.
From what I've heard, Rancho Santa Fe Fire Marshall is much harder to please than Escondido Fire, especially when it comes to driveway construction and use of pavers as one example.

Here's one for the Cal Fire OSFM (Office of state Fire Marshall) --- and sign off by our local fire authority was included for getting signed off for occupancy.
