I read that as well. That came from an SCE trouble report from the area of the start around the same time. I suppose they question the investigators will determine is was the trouble report the origin or an initial causality ?
I noticed on the cams earlier the fire was rather laid down, but then it's frustrating when during this temporary condition, there's no helos or aircraft to be found. Two small tankers just arrived at around 10AM --- Now two helos, but they've not been there long. Why so late to the party ?
I have no idea and certainly not qualified to access why. Just stuff you notice and ponder when it seems like first light would be the time to pounce.
Oddly, first tankers just arrived on scene up north at the Mosquito fire as well, not a bird in the sky all morning when it seems conditions would be optimal ??

Yeah same thing happened yesterday in the morning it was all quiet then around 12 when the heat really kicked in the blaze took off we will see today what happens I would not be surprised if it dose the same thing again we were listening to the scanner last night and they had 2 helicopters doing night drops

My mother in law lives in Lake Riverside Estates and we have been trying to get some information as she is not all that web savvy and has crap internet. She's getting worried and will let her horses go if it gets closer, she doesn't have a horse trailer or truck to pull one. Anyone know if its heading in that direction?

Trying to get some info from 2000 miles away - Thx

I texted a friend in LRE yesterday and he gave me the thumbs up back that he was all good but that was early in the day. I have a 1500 truck with a hitch and would be willing to go rescue horses if it comes to that. Let me know if you speak with her.

I believe it’s in the evacuation warning area but not yet mandatory evacuation but it’s definitely close to her.

Rumor is it was started by some faulty SoCal Edison equipment I don’t know how true that is
They filed something with the CPUC shortly after the fire started

two co-workers live up in LRE. Havent heard from them today. Last night around 8 pm they were headed down the hill to help one of their moms move stuff off her property in Sage. If i hear from them i will report back. LRE is in a recommended evacuation zone (yellow).

There is a portion of Old Topanga Canyon and Topanga Canyon that have not burned in 120 years, the over growth is incredible. If it goes up people will die in there.
…know the area well…

Son has lived up there for 6 years, sold in LRE and moved 2 miles away "as the crow flies" to Anza. He's been riding dual sports up there as of just yesterday and will again tonite. shot vid yesterday from Red mountain fire lookout. From the maps I've been able to find, my guess the fire has already rolled thru the look out area. He has a good defensible space around his place, but its thick all around with manzanita and underbrush. . He's ridden the the top of every peak out there and knows it well. I'll report in when he know more. LRE, to my knowledge is not in the evac area, my son is.

He just said LRE is voluntary but it is the northern areas of that development that are packing up currently. Totally willing to go move animals if need be.
@ONE-A-DAY looks like now might be the time to make something happen before nobody is allowed up there

Got this alert too -- In the process now of relocating my horses at the trainer's facility to my place in Temecula. Fortunately four of my horses are at the L.A. Equestrian Center in Burbank for the Hi-Roller Reining competition until next Wednesday.

Last night we drove up by the command center near state street and there were many people with trucks and horse trailers willing to help! If anyone needs help I have a dually with a fifth wheel hitch and I’m in Menifee. Also people are offering help on Facebook too! So good to see so many people willing to help out.

That map is not up to date
Agree 100%. Was going for the satellite overlay, which are harder to find sometimes.

Some of these were already posted, but just incase it is useful to someone.
These are the good go to's for me as well, for updates, and then following links to the command departments and social media. Very useful for the 2020 Silverado Fire, Holy fire and Holy Jim fire.
https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/
https://twitter.com/CALFIRERRU - twitter feed for this incident. I find the social media outlets refresh faster than the calfire website.

Stay safe out there. Ash-ing down in RSM the past two nights.

Awfully quite in here, I hope everyone is taking the time to get things in order. There is a one in a million chance it makes it to me out in Menifee, but I moved all combustibles away from structures out into my open space, same with some project trucks, moved to middle of dirt property. Taking the enclosed and sand car and boat up to a friends lot way north off the 215 out of precaution. If the winds happen like they are predicting tomorrow and we end up getting little to no precipitation from this tropical storm, I think things could get real bad real fast out here :( Stay safe everyone.

Shit, looks like they have expanded the mandatory evacuation zone down into Temecula.

I just drove down to the three way stop at Auld and Washington which is somewhat at the base of the lake skinner dam. A bit smoky and the glow looked to be about 5 miles or so to the East.

I’m where the blue dot is compared to the evacuation zone. About 1.5 miles away

I’m in your same area. They are expecting a pretty strong push west with the winds from the storm coming. The yellow zone off WA is now in Red Evac. My old house is off Auld and High vista Dr. My ex still has that house. I’m across in Spencer’s Crossing now.

I'm off Thompson and pouroy. I had the schiada at my parents off glen oaks and mesa. I moved it to my garage last night thinking all was well. I headed to the station this morning for my 48 hour shift and now my neighborhood is next up for evacuation. It would take a ridiculous ember cast and wind to have our area light up. Paved roads, developed neighborhood with tile roofs, not going to sweat it too much.

We are a couple blocks away from evacuation warning, across the street from @Roaddawg It has a long way to go before getting to us for sure so not sweating it but did just wake up to some fierce winds so that is concerning for my friends out in wine country. Most have left already. This wind is no joke right now.

Well I guess the warning turned to an order. We still are outside of it but not by much. Kids schools are closed today.

For those of you that it's getting close take the time to clean all dead leaves/growth from your planters and if you leave turn the irrigation on in those planters, also make sure your rain gutters are clean and rinse the down spouts out.

Hopefully the tankers can fly today today with all the wind. 😔

Look at the mapped fire area and overlay the evacuation zones issued last night and this morning. Based on the forecasted winds, I don’t see aircrafts being able to fly today and it is going to suck. Might be why the evac zone is extended so far southwest as it is.

Thoughts with those dealing with this situation. Anyone needing to park trailers away from this BS, let me know. I have a full block across the street that can be used as parking.

@throttle - thoughts with you and your peers - stay safe while out on the line!
