The county health director spoke at my kids' school tonight during parent teacher conferences
The wife, myself, the school nurse, and 4 paramedics were there. And that's it. Was strange. But anyway.

CHD kept saying that they cut the street drugs and black market opioids with fentanyl instead of baking soda. He insisted that they do because it's cheaper than baking soda. Huh?
I thought they cut it with fentanyl to make whatever they are mixing it with stronger. I think he's confused 😕. Maybe I am.

… Way back in the day cocaine was cut with monite or mannitol, which I think are baby laxatives…

… Current day there was a girl down the street… Who myself and Neighbor girl spent months trying to get her off the booze and meth… We thought we had her cured or at least pointed in a good direction…But a bit later…she and two friends decided to buy some cocaine… turns out the cocaine was heavily cut with fentanyl… And unfortunately it killed all three of those kids who think were in their mid 20s… A very sad deal, indeed…

And inositol, which you could buy at the record shop, or "head" shop, which I imagine is what they now call a smoke shop. Damn the 80's was fun. :D 👍

They are clueless. They cut it with fentanyl to make more money. It's cheaper than heroin but still gets them high.

I have posted this before but a old worker of mine is in a rock band. He hangs with a bunch of junkies. They are addicted to heroin and fentanyl. Just when it's cut with to much fentanyl it kills them. In one year he revived 17 of them with narcan. One dude died twice in a week off the same batch and he revived him twice. I asked him why and he gave me a weird look.

That's what i thought. I called him out on it, but didn't really push it. Didn't want to seem to knowledgeable and didn't want ro argue.

I was never in to hard drugs really. I tried a few things. A few different times. But I knew alot if people who dealt or used. So I know a thing or 2.
They are wanting to let this guy talk to the kids about fentanyl.
I might try to get ahold of him on the phone and have a short conversation. 🤔

Bootleg* fentanyl used to be made and distributed solely by the Chinese. But they contracted with the MX cartels and found they could make more money and enjoy less risk by selling the precursors to them and have it manufactured in Mexico. They also entered into this so they can say that they're fighting the illegal flow of fentanyl (but not the ingredients) from China. While the China stuff was relatively "clean", the cartels are actually cutting the fentanyl with other shit like drain cleaner & epsom salts to stretch THEIR profits. Most of it is in the form of counterfeit oxycodone, oxycontin, and other traditional synthetic opioid pills. China is the number one provider of fentanyl and fentanyl precursors.

*(I say "bootleg" since fentanyl is actually a legitimate pain killer in hospital settings. My wife freaked out when she saw that they gave her fentanyl when she was in the ER with chest pains. But we were assured that the dose they were giving her was safer in a clinical setting than morphine, oxymorphone, or hydromorphone.)

… The cheap cocaine test back in the day was… By a gallon of bleach… Take a little tiny bit of the cocaine… And drop it into a glass with about 2 inches of bleach in it. What floats on top was deemed to be cocaine what fell to the bottom was cut… how accurate was this… I have no idea🤷🏽‍♀️

I never tried that. It was a lot easier to just snort the stuff and determine if it was good shit or not.

I understand the point is to save lives....but is there any policies in place where you give one dose to one person once? I imagine with regular users, you've seen them a few times and its a repeat performance....which begs the question, after the 2nd incident with the same person, whats the point?....or does the name/identity of the patient/victim not come into play until after all the first responder work is done?

Last year, I had a call with a woman who was unresponsive in a house. She was down for several minutes and her boyfriend was too afraid to perform CPR. I got there and she was not responsive....at all. It took three doses of Narcan to bring her back. Once she was revived, she didn't want anything to do with the paramedics and refused to get transported. She was a raging bitch! She was a prior meth user who switched over to fentanyl because the meth wasn't working for her any longer.

Shit is lethal.

the news would eat that up lol........they would be posting elementary school pics and say he was about to become a scientist or doctor and was just getting high one last time.

Am the only one here who just drinks?

I have never tried it. I tried weed a few times, but all it did was make me tired and I would go to sleep shortly after smoking it. Then I tried speed once and didn't like it. I then assumed that drugs where not for me and haven't had any since.

The Fentanyl Crisis is legit. I’m thinking everyone knows somebody who has had a family member or friend overdose from this shit.

One of my wife’s best friends daughter was a Meth Head and got a batch laced with Fentanyl. Needless to say she’s no longer in this world, and left behind a 9 year old son. Her friend is now raising her grandson as her own.

I put a huge amount of the cause of this onto the current administrations love of open borders and colluding with the Mexican Cartels in exchange for cash. How do you think Carmelo was able to raise over $1 Billion in campaign money in just a few weeks? It surely didn’t all come from Hollywood!

Back in high school early 80’s it was weed, LSD, speed and coke. No Heroin. The hard core Vato’s smoke PCP. Clove cigs became the rage also with some crowds. Never worried about dying from doing any.
I’ve known 3 people who died Fentanyl deaths in the past 2 years. Bad deal for sure

I know I will get a lot of crap for this but I think ONE AND DONE is a great rule for Narcan, If a looser user wants to take the chance and use especially now a days playing Russian roulette with their lives, sometimes they get the live round and should pay the price..... Now they are developing a Vaccine against Fentanyl overdoses, it stays in the blood and stops or limits the drug entering the brain cutting down chances of an OD. SO Instead of stopping the drug they are creating just another way for these losers to continue using.....

Neighbors kid just got hired with an LA fire department . . . he said their paramedics will administer Fentanyl as a pain killer to some patients.
i had no idea it was even a legitimate drug.
Can't confirm . . . just what he told me. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve got a kid that’s LA city fire. Not a lot of action for a hose dragger in the middle of the city. So he became a paramedic. Now he spent his day administering Narcan.

This is the nastiest shit ever…cheep synthetic heroin and even more addictive. This is one of the reasons our homeless population has skyrocketed and our own government is letting it happen, if not encouraging it. I lost one of my brothers to it about three and half years ago…literally OD’ed twice 4 days apart…the second time it killed him. My Dad found him dead on the garage floor. Addiction is a horrible thing…one try of this shit and theres no going back.

They say booze sales are up (even more than during the Covid lockdown days).. I'd imagine this is one reason why, better to be a tried and true alcoholic than take these sketchy ass chinese mexican drugs..

Are you referring to Narcan or Fentanyl?
Medics use fentanyl for pain management(and other things), and narcan (Naloxone) for suspected opioid overdoses.

Narcan

Oddly enough...the Paramedics/transport team (for lack of a better term) that took the wife in after she ran out of talent on the electric dirtbike and broke both legs, administered Fentanyl...lots of it, and it didn't do shit for her. Morphine sure as fuck did tho lol.

Indio Fire guy told me yesterday that they will hit the same guy with Narcan 6 times over a few weeks and eventually they end up dead anyway. They get pissed when they come out of it so it’s an ungrateful reward for saving their life

Is fentanyl a good exit strategy when the time comes? Is an OD considered a suicide?

Asking for a friend.

I still can't figure out this fentanyl deal out. I'm no drug dealer, but if I was I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna try taking out my clients.

The demand is so high it doesnt matter. Make it as cheap as possible, cut it with dog shit, drain opener, they don't care just get it over the border and send back the billions of US cash.

Mexico cartels are getting rich and China is laughing while we self-impose a dismantling our society.

Someone should write a book, How to get rich and win a world war with out trying.

I think it’ll be considered another covid death?
Any death at this point is a covid death. The lady yesterday who tried to play pinball with a freeway column will probably go down as a covid death.

Its like the old joke of six degrees of Kevin Bacon. Somehow someway they will find a way to link it to covid.

Which makes me wonder how minorities sue police for wrongful death these days. Covid, fools!

There’s more truth in that than most people realize. About two weeks after my nephew OD’d on fentanyl, my sister received a letter from the coroner stating he had tested positive for Covid.

NARCAN may be a lifesaver, but it also leads to MORE overdose deaths. Junkies know that someone will come along with it when they hit the floor, so they might not be as "careful" with the source as they may have been in the past. Plus they'll bang more to try and hit that mythical sweet spot.

While normal people (like most of us) would see something* that killed or nearly killed our friends and associates, we'd be all "Fuck that shit, I'm staying away from it." But junkies and tweakers gravitate toward the deadly shit, since they now KNOW that's it's "good shit". And NARCAN is just an enabler.

*Not just talking drugs, here. But things like petting rattle snakes, selfies with wild Bison, etc.

They probably didn’t give enough if it or she doesn’t get the analgesic effect the same as some people. It’s quick acting, and relatively short lived, which is why the ER docs likes it In a pre hospital setting. Now, if it was me, I would have given her Ketamine. That’s the shit!
