There is one in Kingman for 9k.My frirst boat was a Hallett Vector with a bone stock 330HP BBC and a Bravo One. Bought it for 10k, used it for a few years, sold it for double. I see that there is a Hardin Marine spalshed Hallett Vector for sale on Offerup for 17k, located in West Covina, CA. Seems like a killer deal for a first timer.
Yeah, I think they were maybe hoping that or going none gps lol. 255 with a 520 is a low to mid 70's boat. They had the new 255 with a 520 in it at Hallets in Havasu and I talked to the guy that was the GM at the time and he said they had it up to 72 mph. Granted I think they were running a 24 pitch prop and could pick up a couple of mph but I have a 255 with a 540 and the best I have seen is 76mph with a four blade 26 pitch. 75mph with a 25 labbed 5 blade all on gps.I spoke with nordic/hallet about a new 255 with a 520 last year and they said that'd be a high 70s mid 80s boat. I'd think a 210 would be well into the 80s or 90s with the same power
They said it ran 80 on the limiter. Didn’t say size of prop.Yeah, I think they were maybe hoping that or going none gps lol. 255 with a 520 is a low to mid 70's boat. My guess would be high 70's to mid 80's in the 210.

The 210?
The 210 not 255. That’s direct from Nordic/Hallett.Yeah, I don't think so.
That sounds about right for the 210. Guessing probably a 26p 4 blade. Thanks for the info! The 210 not 255. That’s direct from Nordic/Hallett.
That was a great buy. Someone had some outstanding will power to wait for their number.Sold!!
500 horsepower. Or 65mph +Friend and I were having a chat and this kind of coincides with the "how does one get into performance boating" thread.
What are suggestions for an entry level performance boat? Let's define performance boat as basic inboard boat runs 60mph on up.
For midwest/ east coast people, i was thinking a cobalt or baja with a 496 and bravo.
For West Coast any of the ultra, caliber 1, etc 23' v bottoms with 496 and bravo.
What say the RDP brain trust?
Trade that FJ40 crawler for a closed bow Ultra 23XS!? No toy fund money necessary.that 21-23' range is what I will be shopping in. I prefer the look of the closed bow also but with kids and friends, it needs to be an open bow. The look on that one is a little dated for sure. One of the big things is waiting for prices to stabilize a little, Covid is still messing with pricing along with this inflation and the economy is changing rapidly. Two of the three mentioned say prices are softening. I paid cash for the crawler last year so the toy fund is on the lower end right now. I am probably going to sit out for another year or so unfortunately. That also said, the kid is only a kid once - I want him on a boat with the family and friends.

I don’t know, maybe I misunderstood someone earlier, I thought they said 210 with a 520 was priced at 150 K.I spoke with nordic/hallet about a new 255 with a 520 last year and they said that'd be a high 70s mid 80s boat. I'd think a 210 would be well into the 80s or 90s with the same power

That new LS based ilmor would be perfect in one.Small block is probably still $125,000
Nope!!!! The crawler stays..... Too much fun.Trade that FJ40 crawler for a closed bow Ultra 23XS!? No toy fund money necessary. View attachment 1195156 View attachment 1195159
thought speed limit on trailer was 55Laugh, I routinely had the Ultra up to 75 between Cave Creek and Parker.
how much boost or spray/NOS?I have a 21' Caliber 1 with a 305 and I hit 67 on GPS with gear full tank pops and I at just under 4000' elevation
Nonehow much boost or spray/NOS?

None
I LOVE that flat deck! ^^^
150 is a bit much. I spec'd the 255 out with the 520 and most options you could get and I think it was 157k at the beginning of 2022. Probably closer to 170k now with the big stereo and everything that was gonna be in it. I think they said the 210 starts around 90k but goes up FAST from thereI don’t know, maybe I misunderstood someone earlier, I thought they said 210 with a 520 was priced at 150 K.
I would like to think you could buy a new small block 6.2 open bow 210 for under 75K but I’m probably mistaken. I guess there’s a lot of people that wouldn’t consider that an entry-level performance boat.
Yep. This would rip for $80kHow about a Cheetah Stiletto?

Good god! This is one of the things that drove me to my vacation a few years ago. Everybody has to have perfect, pristine, relatively big HP or it is crap.
Take my boat for example..... There are similar out there as well. It runs pretty well for its size and power (18' with a 200 and has been to mid-60's, with crazy high slip #'s, begging for a better prop set-up). Very forgivable to drive, reliable, cheap to operate maintain, and buy.
But hey... its not a 400hp 21'+ boat it doesn't even get mentioned in the entry level discussion here.
So many of you have gotten so far out of touch with what affordable, inexpensive, and entry are is ridiculous. How many of you started out in a sub-20' boat? Is it a rough ride now-a-days for the busy lakes? Yes. Do they teach you how to drive a boat for the conditions? Yes.

5k here. Best thing I’ve ever bought. This is why I said earlier in the post that "entry level" depends on who you talk to...but this is RDP so entry level is $60k and up...
Yes. And obviously I know there are guys that do not follow that, but there are many that do and that almost swarm together on the topic which is quiet off-putting to many newer members and that results in less and less new members which is not good for ol' RD.This is why I said earlier in the post that "entry level" depends on who you talk to...but this is RDP so entry level is $60k and up...

You really wana go down that road? I'm 37. Have owned my boat since I was 19. I am married with 4 daughters. 3 of which require constant medical attention, 2 of those with feeding pumps. I have a KX500 as well that I don't get to ride much at all anymore (have had it for about 16 years now) due to finances being too tight for that. How old are you?
Are you supporting a family?
How many other hobbies do you have?
Etc.
For a new one I’d be talking to Todd at Tahiti, or Barron about their little boat or finally Luxe about their new 19.
All three of those came on the scene to be an entry level performance boat
Whose mold/model was that originally?View attachment 1195435
We offer our M-19 in serval different configurations. With an LS Jet we are at $75k and a 300R outboard $80K. We also can sell as a kit boat that you can rig yourself.

We struggle but we make it work. So I understand what entry level is to the overwhelming majority of the population and what is listed by many as "entry level" are dreams for 95% of the population.
I know. And that is fair for new entry level.Again I had assumed they were talking about new builds..
If it makes ya feel any better your boat costs more than my current boat..
