You may want to sit this thread out. Of course the techs realize risk. Thats why they only deal on the downlow... think of it as a drug deal if that helps. You guys don’t realize the risk you put a smog tech in asking for this . The tech always gets caught and in some cases they go after the person receiving the smog cert .
Trying to remember the last thread on RDP where someone said, "Hey guys, anyone know a good coke dealer?".You may want to sit this thread out. Of course the techs realize risk. Thats why they only deal on the downlow... think of it as a drug deal if that helps.
Ha Ha... living on the edge. Not for everyone I understand. Treating RDP like a private forum for only the cool kids today.Trying to remember the last thread on RDP where someone said, "Hey guys, anyone know a good coke dealer?".
Wonder if our resident BAR (retired) member will come along and comment.

x3 (for a friend)I need one too please guys.... I hear going rates $350-400 and they can do it through emails with just the VIN and Registration sent. So in CA they can be anywhere geographically.
Thanks for the post. DM is best for privacy.
As a former smog tech, no way would I have answered this request, and no way would I have replied to some random dude that said he got my name off of the internet. But then again, no way would I have done an illegal smog.Ha Ha... living on the edge. Not for everyone I understand. Treating RDP like a private forum for only the cool kids today.

Old RX7s would only pass if you ran them at a couple thousand RPM for a few minutes before testing.I dont know a smog guy but the guy i do know checked 2 of my cars before testing, neiter would pass, ad to drive 55mph for 20 minutes straight, hard to do on freeway, drove to 55/405 from 405/605 3 times to get mustang to pass. Never knew this trick.
I'm not beating up on Craig, just having some fun with the topic. We all know here on RDP how hard it can be to go public with information. [Just ask our brother in arms Big Man Dan] Perhaps I should've thought this through more. However this site has proven for many of us Inmates to be an excellent resource in many matters.

Gone are the days of the sniff test on modern cars where you have to pass odbii readiness checks which require some drive cycles etc. you used to just beat on it and get the cats hot so the sensor they stick in the tailpipe reads “clean”. Now it’s needed to data log and find out actually why it won’t pass. Everything has a reason it does/doesn’t work. It’s amazing the amount of data modern cars have at your fingertips on how the car actually is running. You just need the right tools.I dont know a smog guy but the guy i do know checked 2 of my cars before testing, neiter would pass, ad to drive 55mph for 20 minutes straight, hard to do on freeway, drove to 55/405 from 405/605 3 times to get mustang to pass. Or you could blindly just throw parts at it like suggested above.
For that, I have a hook up.Maybe I should settle for the coke, is that what I'm reading?
haha. Talk to me man!For that, I have a hook up.
Asking for a friend.haha. Talk to me man!
Whatchutalkinbout? We both use the same guy.Asking for a friend.
Easier to find a smog cert than to get someone to take a bachelorette party for a boat ride. Tells me a lot about this group’s priority’s.
Get out to try to talk to the man on your way home. Some things are just too much liability.
I’ve been drinking since noon. I’m gonna go drive to the bar.
Thanks brutha... we all good.... I understand most here on forum know one another out that way.I'm not beating up on Craig, just having some fun with the topic.
I'm thinking if you find the right guy, that's gonna work in your favor...Maybe I should settle for the coke, is that what I'm reading?
You get Jack responselol lol
Who knows a guy - on the internet.
I know nobody - nope
Fill out the form telling them it is stored in another state. Did this for 15 years on one of my trucks. That's not what this is. I'm just a regular dad trying not to get bent over by the dealer for technical bullshit on my daughter's daily driver. For once in my life, I'm saying fucc it; tired of getting shafted for playing by the rules.
Sans the coke stuff...
My guy did my truck for 150 bucks. That’s all I will say about this topic though. There’s more than one place in Pomona that will do it.I’m shocked it’s that low. I Figured 1k minimum

That sounds like the crack head pricing. No offense to the guy but damn lol.My guy did my truck for 150 bucks. That’s all I will say about this topic though. There’s more than one place in Pomona that will do it.
It depends on the car. A pre OBD2 car is easy to “fake” a smog since nothing plugs in. They could literally put any car on the dyno and run the tests. That sounds like the crack head pricing. No offense to the guy but damn lol.
You probably gotta be there too. There’s car free services now. That sounds like the crack head pricing. No offense to the guy but damn lol.

There are multiple levels… there is “look the other way” stuff, - a non CARB compliant intake for example, and then there is falsifying data for the test.
You can have a car that does not pass visual, but passes all the tests with flying colors. That is why there is a big discrepancy with costs.
My old Yaris commuter car was used by DC Sports to develop their exhaust header for the platform. The header never got its CARB EO number to make it legal. I had sort of an aloof smog dude by my house I always used for my stuff. He never looked at anything if the car passed the plug in tests, and he never charged any extra. I had that thing smogged twice, he never even noticed it, as the header is under a cover behind the engine. 3rd time I took it to a new guy, car passed every test and at the last second the guy stuck his head back there to look and failed me. .
You new here?Sell drugs, do drugs, steal shit, steal someone identity all slaps on the hand in CA....but do an illegal smog and there are tons of fines and loss of business....smh...
