Well apparently since the law reads something along the lines of "any level of impairment" don't forget the average tylenol user too. Those hypes are out of control after a couple pills:D

Benedryl will make me fall asleep at the wheel. Thank god my wife was there to wake me up.
Alright, back to finding some camel toe Tuesday candidates..

Vic, I've never smoked weed in my life. I've seen too many people completely piss away their lives due to it. Seen too many people that get high as a kite and then just not want to do a damn thing. I know there are different strands that cause and don't cause that but I've seen it too much. One of the most naturally gifted athletes over ever met threw his life away because he allowed weed to consume it.

And I agree with your wife to keep it away from the kids. Due to a couple reasons, the 2nd hand smoke and the fact that at a young age you are showing them that all you have to do is smoke this joint and things feel better. Establishing that belief (unknowingly obviously) young leads to the kids being much more likely to be addicted to any substance later in life.

I have many other reasons and examples why it's bad to have around kids but that's good enough for now.

I won't say I threw my life away smoking weed that's a little extreme as I've only not been smoking a few months. But I get what you're saying. When I get home I have more energy and accomplish more. Weed would just be the excuse though

I don't want my kids around it because I know what could happen. I got kicked out of 8th grade for selling weed. Wasn't smoking it just selling it to be cool. I'm sure most of you will be able to guess where I got t

I do hope my kids don't get as hooked on partying as I did. I was captain of the varsity soccer team freshman year and junior year just quit because I wanted to party. The coach drove to a friends house when I skipped practice one day and asked do u want to play or party. I made my choice. I was decent at all sports and just kind of stopped because I wanted to party in highschool. Went to a Jc for two years and almost finished but decided to drop out and not waste my parents money as I wasn't serious and just wanted to party

FWS owns and maintains the "No skiing, fires, camping next 17 miles" buoys which are basically at the railroad trestle. We also maintain Devils Elbow buoys. Havasu Marine Association maintains the Tolock no wake buoys above and below i40 shown in Taboma's sat photos as well as the CA side dredged channel at mouth of river.

thanks for the post:thumbsup

this thread has tak'n another turn and will no dougbt be my fault..:rolleyes

what I think is , we as boaters should know the law, and practice boating safety..

as far as "they" I would hope and like to know that "They" are actual boaters....when they make or change a law that affects boater to the slightest degree.. boaters are involved..
if it's a move of non boaters to remove boaters for their personal reasons... then it's just wrong...

a backhoe can dig a trench, and make it a footing to build a wall....but that same back hoe can remove a giant oak tree that has been there from the beginning of time..
being retired, I'd like to be involved in some of the discussions before the law is in effect,

as a person....people do what ever they want..some times they pay the price.... sometimes they don't have to...

I personaly have my own views and self controlled laws...don't need any more....but, when others disrespect the laws...nice to know that there is a law to protect the lawful...

not say'n anything is good or bad...or that anything has changed, as I believe it has,...and I did post pics of those buoy's right next to the train tressel,, and right under the pipe line tressel.....

there is a want to shut down the river,,,,,and "they" are moving forward...the river just north of the devels elbow at the narrows is a hazard... and I heard they are talking about putting more buoys there....once they are in.... and the topoc ones keep drifting down stream..... won't leave much left on the north end...

Steve: "They" are the state or federal Legislatures. Contact your state representative or PM Dave or AlexJ... they have the info.

And I'll say it again, the bouys appear to me to be in the same place they have been for at least the last 5 years... I didn't boat that section of river prior to that so I can't confirm. How often do you go through there?

Yup. When is the last time you went through there? Because if that is how it is now, they actually shrunk the size of the thing. Last month the bouys where in the same position as posted earlier.

There are certainly ways around it, but I am sure that is biting many people applying for jobs, etc.

Just cost me a job with the Secret Service. I'd been working toward a job with them for almost a year but honestly disclosed marijuana use (nothing since about 1997) but that was enough that they asked me to withdraw my application. When I talk to kids about weed I tell them it is a decision which still has the potential to permanently close doors on their dreams. Just not worth the sacrifice to enhance your Taco Bell dining experience.

FYI FWS maintenance did correct the buoy line at Mesquite Bay North and I presume other FWS buoys on river this morning. Just fixing the lines- no new buoys and no buoy creep.

I can verify this. Our kid has had her doors shut for 3 years due to one hit. Life lesson.

25 year employee with a defense contractor backed into a pole and scratched a bumper on a company vehicle. Fillled out an accident report and turned it in. Company requires drug test on any incident. He shared a joint a week before at a family gathering. Fired due to zero tolerance policy.
Also, if you have a med card, forget about buying a firearm.

I was there last month and it all looked the same to me. If they moved this moring that's different.

So do you know if they moved the south bouy line (south of parker) back up to directly under the large high pressure gas pipe? Or is it still south of the second one just around the corner?

We aren't involved at all with buoys in Parker.

What a stupid thread. Can we give the self righteous guys the pat on the back they are obvious looking for then put this thread to rest?

Take this circle jerk to an AA meeting already.

Sorry to hear that. I know a few guys that have been turned down for government or law enforcement jobs because of it as well.

Dang, ball-busters.

This past summer I was considering working with juvenile probation for the County of Riverside and submitted an app and tested. I stated drug use of everything, coke, speed, pot, but all of it 30 years ago, I also gave up drinking (beer) 10 years ago.

Apparently not a problem, I received the invite for the second onsite test.

I withdrew my app since I am seeking a position with the State. But, admittedly, I was curious to see if I would get past the initial background screen due to the drug use.

Hey come on, it was the 80's :D

Sorry to hear about your situation.

And FWIW, I have a female relative who is 78 years old and has blazed everyday, usually several times per day, for the past 60 years. Her and her 2 friends who are the same age. She's fine, all marbles in-tact.

Weed is one of those things...either you're all in, or not in, so I too would advocate against young people smoking it. Plenty of time to do it later in life.

T&Y- FWS owns the "No skiing etc next 17 miles" buoys in the middle of that no wake, but we do not own our manage the no wake buoys there. Lake Havasu Marine put those out and tend those buoy lines, though we obviously do enforce that reg.

you're at the wrong tressel... the buoys use to be under the white pipe line, and north of the private beach on the east

also, according to your scale.... the south buoys were moved 1/4 mile.... and the north was moved 3 foot ball fields..

that's a lot of area when it's 140 degrees..

Glad I am not the only one that noticed this. Both sets (Topock & Gorge) have moved. Southern ones moved south, northern ones moved north.
