On a similar note. Appearently the US woman's soccer team has a gay captain and a gay coach who protest our national anthem "making a statement" and that gets a pass. But one of the star players would not wear a gay pride uniform during gay pride month and was let go, for her not making a "statement".

Long, long time ago I was on a grand jury with Marion Knott. Daughter of Walter of Knotts Berry Farm.
We got to talking.

The gay community contacted Knotts for their own day there she mentioned.
Walter though a far right conservative was all for it. “It’s a free country” was his take. The old Farmer was an open minded progressive.

Marion worried the local churches would get worked up and cause issues she went on to say.

What over shadowed it in the news was Knotts won a court decision to ban gang attire and behavior. They had been sued over that and the old man fought it on the basis of safe guest experience and beat it.
Yeah, way back then.
All amusement parks use the ruling to screen guests.

Who fucking cares any more? Every time you turn around it's some LGBTQTBRYABCXYZ+ bullshit in your face. Let it go and just live life. Nobody gives a shit if you are a guy and like to suck dick or if you're some sort of person that is confused about your gender. Constantly putting it out there and bothering people with it just irritates them and is what causes them to push back.

Quit bringing it up and making it so obvious and the "discrimination" you face will go away.

Ever seen a straight pride parade? Ever seen anybody waving a flag and marching around in support of their heterosexual relationship and the "allies" to it?

At my work it's the same shit all the time. "We support LGBTQTBRYABCXYZ+ and their allies". "Join us for gay pride month". Fuck off. People's sexuality and what they like to put in their mouths has no relevance in the workplace. Keep it to yourself (just like I do about being straight - I don't go around broadcasting it) and you probably won't have much of a problem.

The Dodgers are a business. Sales are king. They are pretty much in the top three every year for ticket sales, merchandise sales in MLB.
They have pretty much every segment “appreciation” day there is. “Mexican Appreciation” Day was last week and no one said anything.

I’ve worked Dodgers Games 14 years, I always get the same question every game: “Great deal to get paid to watch a game”. My reply: “I hate baseball, this pays for boating, I’m actually watching you” (fans)
Same perplexed look everytime, lol.

Brian Stow happened when McCourt ran out of money and layed off 100 Cops and the Security Director.
Current owners are business first and brought everyone back.

Fan injured during Diamondbacks game:
At 1am, outer edge of parking lot. I can assure you he wasn’t hit because of any rivalry. I can only say he did something that resulted in him being punched, and 90% of you guys most lilkely would have responded to him had he done what he did in your presence. I’ll leave it at that.

I don't like that either. They don't have an appreciation day for every segment. Where's "Straight White Male" Appreciation Day? Maybe a European/Caucasian Appreciation Day at least? Not likely.

The same concept I mentioned in my post above applies to race. The more it is brought up and shoved in other people's faces by people who belong to that race, the more problems exist. If nothing was said or done in the first place, very likely to be no problems. In this day and age, I think people are willing to live their lives unless they are provoked with race or sexuality as the focal point. They would otherwise be unconcerned with it. The irony is that members of those "special" groups have the most tendency to do the provoking, thus preventing themselves from being treated as equally good people.

Equal is fine and great, but let's be truly equal. If we're going to celebrate one group, we need to be celebrating all the others as well.

Um, that argument flew away from LA County and Ca. in the 80's. I had to score 100% on my entry oral interview while non anglos passed at 76%. Been that way since the 80's. I could of went out of state if I didn't like it, but didn't, public service is entering three decades of it, welcome to the party.
I'd say for sports, it's a private entity. They will do whatever sells seats, and this tactic does.

Don't get me started on the fights I've broken up over free bobbleheads.....MLB fans, lol.
