Yesterday in my "travels" I called on a notably busy shop , I have a disability parking placard after hip and knee replacements and am working up to yet another knee surgery . I dont always take advantage of the privilege but yesterday "frosted" me . I couldnt find a parking spot in the lot or even on the street so I parked out of the way temporarily and while waiting a skinny tire f*ck went to His Honda parked in a disabled spot to get his bike while leaving his vehicle for service . I ask politley "excuse me sir but can I ask are you disabled ?, He said no", I said "well I am and your parked in a Handicapped spot !" He says "Oh they dont care about that here" ................

I remember many years back went to Ralphs and there was a nice red lifted truck with what looked like 40"s on it.
They had parked in the handicap spot.
I am sure they were not happy when they came out and found all four tires slashed.
Overkill-maybe, but i bet they don't park in the handicap spot any:rolleyes:

I try to leave disabled parking for people worse off than me. But have noticed most that take those spaces are fat fucks that walk better than I, and the ass views in a wheelchair isn't what it's cracked up to be and people are rude as hell, do like the zip tie thing😅

All my parents have them. Whenever we go out, I drop them at the door of the restaurant we are going and go park somewhere else. Never likes using those spots. And I dislike the lazy F’s that use them when they can park in a spot 10-30 feet away when the lot is empty.

Always thought handicapped spots were sacred... but even more so after my mother in law became disabled. People dont understand or care that someone physically cant access something without them. Just call police and have them issue a citation. They arent cheap and they'll hopefully only do it once...

Entitled asshole. Unfortunately, had to go to the mall last week to get a new Zagg cover for my cell phone. Was sure nice to see local parking enforcement ticketing cars for parking in the handicap spots without a placard. The parking enforcement guy said he is there al day writing tickets non-stop. I thanked him for his service.

thats exactly what he says, some guys are worse off and need it more. at 36 he will never walk without a cane or pain in his back or leg. looking at him you would think he is fine, until he starts to walk or stand up straight.

I'd be double-frosted about the honda car dude in the handicap spot, AND the torn-down car in the handicap ACCESS spot also illegally parked.. that one was probably the shops dealio.

A friend in high school had the placard. She was good looking, nice, and an incredible athlete. Also only had 1/2 her leg due to a terrible accident. Rarely would she use the card but when she did it was b/c she was in pain. Some fuc*ktard decided to give her an earful when we used the handicap spot. I had never seen red so quick in my life. I get it, she’s hot, young, and appears fully able in her Camaro… but that day, he learned a painful lesson to never judge a book by the cover.

It wasn’t the handicap spot, but this team Yukon/ Malibu warrior felt the need to block most of the walkway at Barley Brothers just the other day.
I just walked around, but the old lady in her wheelchair with the old guy pushing her had a little trouble.

Conversely there are 8 handicap spaces up front at the gym with at max 2 spots being used when I'm there 4 days a week.

90% of the time there's a 911 Porsche, corvette, Maserati or some other fancy sports car parked in these spots with the pass. Even seen a motorcycle.

Sadly this whole thing is being abused.

We moved to our new building about 10-11 years ago. Not a bunch of parking on our side of the building and we are in now way a public place that the general public would come to. Only our employees. There are 2 handicap spots in our parking area. I had a couple guys that always parked in there, no placards but there was no one on our property that needed the spots. After about a year of them parking there, they went to leave at the end of the day and both had $250 parking tickets on them. I told them I was sorry but nothing I could do.

Not a disabled placard member yet but I do carry a valve stem removal tool in my center console just for assholes like this.
And yes it has been used a few times to loosen the valve seat.

That's actually a Really good idea...

The tire won't go flat for awhile and the douche will never know how or why it happened. 👍🏼

Someone on here mentioned the wheel balance weights. You stick them on the front rim. I bought a pack for when the neighbors leave there extra cars in front of the house for extended periods. Have 1 sitting here now.

Old friend of my wife's had a jacked up foot, had a surgery to correct and kept her HC placard after she healed. She tried to park in HC spot with us in the car until we lit her up. Later had a slip and fall claim, saying the same foot was fucked up from the slip. Tried to get my wife to testify on her behalf, wifey said no. Her friend had her subpoenaed. Wifey called her attorney and lit him the FUCK UP. Told him she'd be the witness for the defense if he didn't fuck right off. 😁

I had a placard for about a year or so after my wreck. I only used it once...and it was a shit show:oops:

I had just taken my driver test, to reinstate/prove my abilities...apparently the state of Ca decided neuro surgery stuff was bad? I was happy as a 16yo boy with keys, and was 28. I borrowed Pops' 86 f250, it was an auto and stock height 4x4. First drive to my friend's shop, Early Ford store. Only space was a handicap spot. OK.

Older guy comes up to my door yelling. It scared the hell out of me. It had been close to 3 months since I'd really been out and about, and was still real scared I guess. When I opened the door, he continued...until I stepped out. Limp atrophied left arm, shaved head under a ball cap, still healing wounds, pick lines bandaged in my right arm and reaching back for my cane while leaning hard on the door jamb.

He apologized, and we had a civil talk about stuff after. He was actually a car guy that new me, but didn't recognize me anymore.

People that are well off and/or go to the gym can be handicap as well. They just get around in a fancier vehicle.

Reminds me of guys (never ladies) that have a handicap flag on the golf cart and drive way too close to the greens. I see them walking they are just lazy.

Yeah but then you have to have brake clean to get the rim clean or the weights won't stick for long. Although...

The noise when they fly off would get someone's attention as well. 👍🏼

Zip tying weights to the driveshaft is fun if you have the access and time. 😁

We used to use big finder washers on a rubberband around the driveline.. wouldnt make noise till the car was moving fast enough.. slow down and the noise would go away..lol always a good laugh doing it to buddies.🤣🤣

My old neighbor/buddy did that to me during our years of playing pranks on each other. I ordered a rainbow colored license plate frame that said “honk if your homo” on it. I put it on his truck when he left it in his driveway one night.

Funny, crane operators don’t find that shit very funny. 😁😁😁

thats my buddy, fell through a roof in afganistan with a 60 pound pack on his back and crushed 4 vertabrae in his lower back and his pelvis. docs told him a wheelchair is not far off in the future, but he refuses to use one until he cant walk. look at him sitting in a car and he is fine, watch him walk or stand straight up and its another story.

A few of those I've met, much like your friend, will not use the placard out of spite. "As long as I'm able to" types. I had one that did physical therapy the same days I did. If you need motivation, work alongside a guy that got injured on deployment. Driven. Truly something people lack these days. They are pretty damn inspiring. There is no "disability", just ways to get better at living.

:) I always wondered if / when he called the cops if they gave him a ticket as well.
Add some insult to the injury kind of deal.

UPDATE I "reached out" (hate that phrase) to the actual shop owner and reminded him about some evil fuk that travels the area locally preying on businesses that he can find difficulties with then summarily sues for big bucks not to mention the (ADA Federal agency) ..... I told him I'm not that guy but next time I visit there better be a placard /handicapped car or a vacancy in that spot . He thanked me profusely and apologized ....

That’s my 82 year old father’s car. You can give him a break, he’s got Stage 4 kidney disease and he won’t be bothering the parking police for much longer.

Have you seen the woman in Paso that tries to trap cars in her wheel chair? Specially at Walmart. She drives her little electric wheelchair through the parking lot looking for someone about to back up then pulls her little flag down and hurries to get behind them and hope they hit her. She then call 911 and starts a whole show. I saw her tactics in action once. Pretty damn pathetic.
