Well if my shit box was outside, I would of dine the same. Would you ?
Mine is outside. But, that wasn't the point. The OP is blasting Tim based on the assumption that he would have told him it was indoors the entire time etc etc...

He stated he never called Tim before returning a week early and picked it up. So he truncated the originally agreed upon timetable by a week without notice and is putting him on blast based on assumptions.

I'd guess Tim must have authorized the full refund when he took the call from his office mngr. Ain't any employee gonna do that on their own.
But as I said, I'm guessing.

I'm just curious, have you spoken to Tim since picking up your boat?

You're assumption that he was going to "burn you" was based upon the fact that the boat sat outside for 3 of the 4 agreed upon weeks and you assumed that if you hadn't noticed or said something he was just going to try to tell you it was inside storage the entire time. Is this correct? What would you feel if you let it go the entire month and when you picked it up Tim said something along the lines of "I'm we had a mix up with the storage facility and failed to communicate that with you. For compensation for our failure we performed a complete detail free of charge."

But since you never gave him that chance he wasn't able to make it right in that regard

This is all a "what if" from me. But you areflaming a guy based on an assumption that he was gonna rip you off.

Not a fucking chance !!!! This is Parker and dirty deeds , not paso

Personally.... he agreed to inside storage... and it was not stored inside. A week early so the boat has one less week exposed to the elements.

Sorry, dirty deeds screwed up. He either lied, or didn?t fulfill his commitment.

Again, that is all based upon assumptions and likely skewed by your experience. I just dont think it's right to say someone "burned a customer" when the customer changed the time frame without communicating with the business owner before doing so.

We're things done right by Tim?...... Doesn't sound like it. We're things handled in the best manner by the OP? In my opinion, it doesn't sound like it.

I see it kinda as having an engine builder build your engine and it's a 6 day job but you give him a month to do. You check on it a couple times and it hasn't made any progress in 2 weeks. So instead of talking to the builder, you back up your truck and tell them you want your engine and money back even though the builder isn't even there. Obviously not exactly the same, but fairly close.

If we're gunna play the "what if" game. I would've been pretty mad if he called and said there was a mix up with the inside storage and since it was outside instead of inside somebody stole your boat and to make it up to you I'd like to detail it when or if you get it back

Your right I should've gave the full month to see if he put it inside like we agreed upon

I haven't posted in a while but this idea is fucking bull. I don't give a shit if you clean it before I pick it up it's how it's treated while it's there. Especially if I paid to have it indoors I'd be fucking pissed if I was the OP. If it wasn't going indoors and a cleaning was offered after I would want a call up front. Refund of this value is worthless imho...getting your boat trashed in the process costs a ton more than that...

I didn't say that either. Maybe a phone call before hand. Or not pushing someone on blast based on an assumption. Specially when you didn't even talk to the man after dropping off the boat. Like I said, I agree they screwed up. But blasting someone in the manner of which you are doing after communicating (or complete lack there of) and complete assumptions I don't agree with.

Trashed in the process? 3 weeks outside. Trashed? Common man. It's Parker in fall. Pretty mild weather.

Apparently everybody misread what I wrote. Blast me as much as you want but goddam.... mistakes happen, EVERYBODY makes mistakes. Give the person/company an opportunity to make it right. From what was said in the OP that was not the case here and MANY assumptions were made upon the business and it's owner. THAT is also not ok. Along with leaving the boat outside, as I have said.

Flying_Lavey, what or who is your dog in this skirmish? If you don't have a dog in this fight, your posts are kind of ridiculous to me.
I'd be pissed too if they left my stuff outside if it was agreed upon to be placed indoors.. Plain and simple.

Assuming what the OP posted (no offense to anyone) is true. There is no excuse.

While I agree mistakes do happen I would never be ok with my property being treated that way. Furthermore would not expect any client of mine to be ok with me providing less than agreed upon service.

Everybody and every company makes mistakes. It's how you deal with them that define. So yes, I have made professional mistakes that have cost money. Who hasnt? Nobody.

I dont. I find it rediculous to say a person was going to screw me over because, well, I'm assuming so.

I agree that a client should never get less than agreed upon service. But when mistakes happen, other solutions COULD be found that will satisfy both parties. This process was not given a chance to happen in this case.

I'm sorry, but I've seen it time and time again.... this board rushes to flame individuals and/or companies because everyone here NEVER makes a mistake. It's always about absolutes, if it's not 100% perfect everytime, it's 100% crap everytime.

What if Tim was on vacation (as the OP suspected he may have been) for a few weeks and the shop manager dropped the ball? Yes, Dirty Deeds failed. But to take that possible scenario and say Tim was going to screw the OP when he picked up his boat is a stretch based on assumptions and without giving the proper person of authority the chance to correct the problem.

But hey, go ahead all, bring your pitch forks, throw me on the pike with Tim. I don't give a shit. Just pointing out blatant facts that soo many are overlooking.

You're beating your head against the wall here. [emoji6] It's RDP, they jumped to their conclusion with one side of the story and the other side of the story doesn't post on here, never has and isn't a forum type person, so don't expect him to. I see the point you're trying to make, but you're wasting your time trying to make it.

I talked to Tim this morning.....In a nutshell there was a mix up. Tim made it right the best he could by refunding any monies paid and that's that. He did what he could to try and correct the situation,It wasn't enough for the OP obviously so now he's on here venting to the masses. In typical RDP fashion it's gone 8 pages of nothingness.

I have known Tim for many many years. I can say one thing for 100% certainty, he does his best to make everyone happy and he's not a rip off type. I have heard people complain about using Dirty deeds and then I have heard people who have no complaints and have used him for years. For the most parts the complaints are either a false level of expectations or a failure of communication. Personally he treats us and our stuff very well, but then again we have used him for years and he knows EXACTLY what we expect, and we pay accordingly.

When needing stuff in Parker he's in my opinion the best choice.

I?d be pissed if my boat got left outside. It?s the first thing I ask cobra before I bring it home for service. Is there room for it inside, and if not I?ll wait till there is. Everyone is different, but I would not be ok with my boat sitting out for 3 weeks and a refund and a sorry wouldn?t cut it. Maybe it works for some but just like I tell my 4 year old. Sorry it was an accident doesn?t cut it

Your right. It was a complete false level of expectation on my part to think that he Would do what we agreed upon. Or maybe it was a failure on my part to not call every day to see if he had done what we agreed upon. Your right. It's my fault and I shouldnt blast him

I think at the end of the day , it's ur money and ur boat and if said services was paid for and u didn't receive services , u have right to choose what to do next , if that means pull ur boat and move on , then so be it.

Holy crap it's 13 pages now. U made the comment that tim dropped the ball , which makes the OP correct about not getting his services he paid for.
Tim fixed the problem and refunded his money, simple solution. I agree.

The rest is what it is , like I said, I have used Tim in the past for stuff and actually like u, hung with tim as a friend away from boating etc

U know it doesn't matter , what name is put in the headlines , everybody has haters or should I say disliked customers lol. [emoji202] [emoji6]

By your account, it sounds like the OP owes Tim money for the time the boat was in storage and maybe a big hug for a job well done. :rolleyes
I never said nor insinuated that. Not did I ever say DD didn't do anything wrong.

We are most definitely going to have to agree to disagree. I've never met an HVAC tech that has never had a call back due to a mis-diagnosis. I've met some that think they haven't. They typically make more mistakes than most.

Ur definition of burn us different than OP, I think is what ur arguing or discussing about is irrelevant, so what word do u you use , when u don't get what u paid for ???

I am not in the hvac buisness , but being u guys are, here is my story :

For 3 years I had a leak that in winter the freon would leak out and then the guts would come out and re- fill it and every year they thought they fixed the leak , until next year , so on the third year I told them fix and fix the shit right now, I was over it and I paid them for the last two years, I refused to pay on the third year , so I think they ripped me off , is that not fair to think ,

It wasn't their fault it leaked out the first year , but it was the next two since they were called out.

My point, I say ripped off, OP says burned , what word do u use ????

I agree that you were ripped off/burned in that case (The term is interchangeable to me). You paid for a service that was not performed. I do not believe you should have paid for the additional calls to repair what the 1st tech couldnt.

That is the difference. Service paid for and not performed vs service not performed but reimbursed for that failure. Could and likely would make for an unhappy customer and that is totally understandable. But not a burned customer. You would be a burned customer with your HVAC issue.

I might have been more pissed about the office lady saying "well at least it didn't get stolen".
That'll make anyone feel warm and fuzzy.

Make sense. Thank you.

The burned point is , his boat didn't get into indoor storage, so what would u call that , he also stated he even left money for the service ???

There was no other service due to him pulling his boat ......so I think what ur saying is he didn't get burned/ ripped off cause he pulled his boat out ??? Correct or not

I would say DD screwed up, didn't do as expected but at least refunded the money. I don't blame the OP for having a sour taste for them after all that. But I do not think he got burned/ripped off/fucked/etc.... Like he and so many are claiming. He stated that wasn't any damage to the boat, and his money was returned. I just find it in poor taste to attack a person or company in this manner for something that caused no damage or financial loss.

Btw, I'm continuing the conversation with you about this because I feel you and I can have a mature discussion on it and accept eachother's points and counter points.

I would say you hired an incompetent company and then hired them repeatedly. [emoji6] leaks are one of the more difficult items to diagnose, locate and repair for most companies.

Ripped off, screwed over, fucked, etc. would assume you paid for something and you didn't receive said service.

If a company doesn't provide said service, item, etc. and refunds money paid....how are you really ripped off??

Fault was admitted and money was returned. I could see how they were unhappy with what happened, but to say it was ripped off, I don't see it. Tim at OCM....that's a ripoff.

I agree , i understand that they were having a hard time finding it , is probably why I have them a a few chances, also being out of state answer calls and says A/C not working again , I jus say call them , it is,easier.

They are a local famy owned buisness and are good people is another reason I use them, plus my wife had a tech cone out with a attitude the second time and had to tell him to get off the property, so few details I didn't say.
At the last time we called them, we had another company ready to come out , the dad sent the son out to fix the problem once and for all. Thinking attitude man got an ass chewing based on what the dad said to my wife on the phone, all good now.
U know if u guys were closer u would be first to call. [emoji106] [emoji106]

Yes , OCM, is a rip off artist. I really believe the OP, used the word to describe how he felt about it.

Like I asked him earlier, talk to tim he will make it right and clean ur boat up

I never said nor insinuated that. Not did I ever say DD didn't do anything wrong.Yeah really. This will be my last post in that matter. He did not BURN you. Burning someone is taking money for a service not done. Your money was refunded in full. End of story. We are most definitely going to have to agree to disagree. I've never met an HVAC tech that has never had a call back due to a mis-diagnosis. I've met some that think they haven't. They typically make more mistakes than most.

He burned him leaving the boat out. Refunding the money doesn?t undo that. It?s an attempt to right it. But s poor one. Leaving someone hard earned money out is pretty inexcusable. And lying and telling them you won?t is even worse
